My Wife Is A Ghost Exorciser Chapter 1462: Epilogue (1)
Previously on My Wife Is A Ghost Exorciser...
Three weeks had passed since Duan He's demise.
"Madam Song, will everything truly be alright?" Master Ji inquired, his gaze fixed on Song Yan with profound concern.
Even Shen Hanjing looked up at Song Yan, his eyes mirroring that same anxiety.
The entire Ji family, including those two, watched Song Yan as she stood within the hospital ward of a deceased pregnant woman. The woman had passed away after giving birth to twin girls; it was a heartbreaking case. Her husband, a villager, had refused to claim either his wife's remains or the two infants.
Furthermore, because they were born prematurely, the two girls were extremely frail. Despite the hospital's best efforts, they could not be saved without the presence and care of their parents.
Tragic as the circumstances were, the Ji family had finally located three bodies with birth characters that perfectly aligned with Ji Ziyi and the two other girls.
Consequently, despite their distaste for the man involved, they were forced to purchase the bodies of these three miserable souls.
"It is fine," Song Yan confirmed with a nod, seeing that the birth characters of the woman and her daughters were indeed a match for Ji Ziyi and the other two spirits.
Turning her attention to Shen Hanjing, she asked, "Ji Ziyi’s birth character corresponds with this woman. Are you certain you are alright with this?"
She was concerned that Shen Hanjing might develop a dislike for Ji Ziyi if she suddenly inhabited the form of a sallow-faced woman from the countryside.
"It is alright," Shen Hanjing replied with a firm nod. "As long as Ziyi can breathe again, nothing else matters to me."
To him, the only thing of importance was Ji Ziyi’s resurrection!
Song Yan then looked toward Father and Mother Ji, who shared Shen Hanjing's sentiments. Their daughter had been snatched away from them so cruelly; why would they care about appearances when they knew how difficult it was to bring Ji Ziyi back to life?
Seeing that no one objected, Song Yan first secured the heavenly snake scale around her neck. She then produced the yang regenerating pill, which she had concocted using herbs grown alongside Ni Ah.
"Place these inside the mouths of the bodies," Song Yan instructed the Eldest Master Ji. He appeared somewhat unnerved by the prospect of touching a corpse's mouth, but the thought of his sister’s return gave him strength. Gritting his teeth, he inserted the pills into the three corpses.
The pills dissolved the moment they were placed inside. Immediately upon melting, the corpses began to radiate a magnificent golden light. Seizing the moment, Song Yan swiftly drew an array.
The array drifted over the woman’s bed before suddenly expanding, encircling both the woman and the two infants.
As she watched the array wrap around the woman, Song Yan raised her hand and launched three soul-balancing talismans toward the three bodies.
As soon as the talismans adhered to the corpses, a sudden chill permeated the room. Outside, the heavens rumbled with a warning crack of thunder, but Song Yan paid it no mind.
She proceeded with the ritual, casting another set of talismans toward the mass of blood and flesh resting in the corner of the room.
That pile of bone, flesh, and blood also began to glow, filling the entire ward with an ominous aura.
"Get out," Song Yan commanded the Ji family and Shen Hanjing.
Though the family members hesitated, they obeyed her and retreated from the ward.
The moment they crossed the threshold—
Boom!
The roar of a thunderclap rang in their ears.
"Ziyi! Master Song!"
Mother Ji cried out in fear, but her husband restrained her. "Stay here," he said. "Master Song would have signaled us if she required assistance."
Mother Ji deferred to her husband, pursing her lips and ceasing her movements.
The Ji family remained focused on the ward door where Song Yan worked. After three strikes, four strikes—eventually seven strikes of thunder—the door finally swung open.
Song Yan emerged, her face deathly pale. Master Ji feared the worst upon seeing her state, but then he heard her voice: "It is finished."
Finished..?
Finished!
It was a success!
"Thank you! Thank you, Master Song!" Mother Ji cried, shaking Song Yan’s hand repeatedly before bolting into the ward.
She turned her gaze toward the woman sitting upright on the bed. Her eyes welled with tears as she watched the woman move and breathe. "Ziyi?"
"Mom," the woman on the bed replied. Mother Ji lost all composure, throwing her arms around Ji Ziyi’s neck while weeping uncontrollably.
"My daughter... wuuuu my daughter... you have endured so much."
Father Ji and the rest of the family also offered their gratitude to Song Yan.
"Madam Song, you are now the benefactor of the Ji family. Whatever you need, whenever you need it, simply call upon us," Master Ji declared. Song Yan smiled and shook his hand.
However, she chose not to linger, sensing that the Ji family required a private moment together.
Leaving the ward, she went to check on Li Xiuying’s sister. Although she had already dismantled the three strings array, the woman remained quite frail from her previous ordeals.
"How is her condition?" Song Yan asked the physician treating Li Chuling.
"She is stable, though her constitution is weak... with proper rest and care, she will recover soon," Doctor Chi replied, and Song Yan nodded.
She intended to speak further, but the moment she opened her mouth—
"Uruk," Song Yan clamped a hand over her mouth, gagging.
"Madam Song, are you unwell?"
"Yes... it is nothing—Urgh." Song Yan dry heaved once more, causing the doctor to pull a face. The doctor reached out to check Song Yan’s pulse. After a brief silence, she spoke.
"Congratulations, Madam Song. It appears you are pregnant!" The doctor’s words left Song Yan so stunned that her nausea vanished instantly.
"What?" Song Yan asked, completely dazed.
"You are expecting. You are already entering your third month; did you truly not notice any symptoms until now?" the doctor asked, while Song Yan blinked in disbelief.
She... she was pregnant?
Thinking there must be a mistake, Song Yan went to take a test, only to confirm the reality of her pregnancy!
"What the—" Song Yan whispered, staring at the results. That man—just how powerful was he? Despite her diligent daily use of contraceptives, she had still conceived?
Lost in thought, she failed to watch her path and collided with someone. "Oh, I am sorry."
"It is okay," a girl in a school uniform replied. She was smiling, yet Song Yan spotted tears in her eyes. "Are you alright?" Song Yan asked with concern.
"I am fine," Song Yan replied, frowning. For some reason, the girl seemed familiar, yet Song Yan couldn't quite place her.
"I am glad to see you are doing well," the girl added. She was about to say more when—
"Fang Yanli! Where is Fang Yanli? Your mother has regained consciousness; please report to ward 562," an announcement blared over the intercom, interrupting her.
Fang Yanli glanced at the speaker, then turned back to Song Yan. "I will see you again sometime?"
Why would we meet again? Song Yan wondered, watching the girl walk away with a puzzled expression.
Song Yan shook her head and exited the hospital. She had a serious bone to pick with her husband.
That man! He had gotten her pregnant despite all their precautions. Now, how was she supposed to finish the filming?
