My Talent's Name Is Generator Chapter 925 A New Base
Previously on My Talent's Name Is Generator...
"How would I know?" he queried, his brow lifting as though the question itself was absurd.
"Because you have a tendency to meddle in others' affairs," I retorted instantly.
"That's what being informed is," he stated evenly. "It's something you should consider doing."
"I find results far more valuable than hearsay."
Before he could retort, my grandmother intervened, halting the escalating exchange.
"So, Billion," she began, redirecting the conversation, "when is Vivi scheduled to return?"
"Today," I responded, my tone stabilizing. "I sense she is on the verge of completion."
"That is promising news," Edgar chimed in, his usual jesting replaced by a measure of seriousness. "Is there anything you require us to prepare, just in case?"
A shake of my head was my answer.
"No. I shall travel to Vaythos and attend to the matter myself," I declared, already turning to depart.
"Has North returned yet?" my grandmother inquired from behind me.
A brief pause preceded my reply.
"Not yet. She still requires an additional two days."
With that, I departed from Abor and returned to Vaythos. The transition was instantaneous, placing me back in the garden. The familiar tranquility enveloped me as I proceeded towards the colossal tree and settled myself beneath its boughs.
The instant my eyes closed, my perception extended outwards and then downwards, penetrating layers of earth and essence until it reached the planet's deepest core.
There she was.
Vivi remained dormant near the planet's heart, her entire being encapsulated within a pulsating crystalline shell. The light emanating from within flickered irregularly, waxing and waning as if an occupant were concurrently breathing, developing, and solidifying.
However, something had changed.
Fractures had begun to mar the shell's surface.
These fissures propagated unevenly, initially faint and barely discernible, but they had become more prominent, branching across the shell like an intricate web. Each pulse seemed to exert pressure, widening them infinitesimally.
She was nearing her emergence.
Yet, what truly captured my focus was not solely her condition, but the circumstances surrounding it.
The Blue Spiral remained unaltered.
Despite Vivi having assimilated the galactic core, there was no discernible shift, no sudden evolutionary leap, no large-scale disruption that such a monumental event would typically precipitate. The celestial bodies continued their courses, the flow of essence remained steady, and no indication pointed towards the profound transformation occurring deep below.
An eerie stillness permeated the surroundings. Too quiet, in fact.
This implied that whatever was unfolding was being expertly contained. I leaned back slightly, maintaining my perceptual link with her.
As moments elapsed, the cracks on the crystalline shell continued their slow, unhurried expansion.
My awareness remained fixed on Vivi, observing the ongoing development, when a familiar resonance touched my senses.
Knight, Ash, and Ragnar.
I had dispatched them towards the Crimson Zone days prior to establish an observation post and scout the unknown territories beyond; now, they were making contact.
"Well, well," Knight's voice preceded the others, smooth and laced with his perpetual, faint amusement. "It took you quite some time to check in. We were beginning to suspect you'd forgotten about us, engrossed in your god-like endeavors elsewhere."
"I did not," I replied placidly. "I was occupied with some enhancements. Now, what is the current situation?"
"Straight to the point, as always," he responded. "Very well. You'll be pleased to learn that our base has been successfully established. It's secure, concealed, and situated far enough from the primary routes that no one has discovered our presence."
"Excellent," I affirmed. "And what of the Crimson Zone itself?"
A brief silence followed before Ash interjected, his tone considerably more serious.
"It is… irregular."
This single word was sufficient to command my complete attention.
"Elaborate, please," I requested.
Ragnar's voice boomed next, imbued with his characteristic directness. "Boss, this is something you'll find interesting. The entry isn't a conventional gate or rift as we had anticipated. It appears to be a star."
"A defunct one," Knight added. "Crimson in hue. It has fully collapsed, yet it persists, hanging adrift in the void as if it refuses to dissipate."
Ash continued their report. "Upon approach, the spatial fabric behind it undergoes a transformation. It's not instantaneous, but once a specific threshold is crossed… everything beyond becomes obscured."
"Obscured by what?" I pressed.
"A crimson mist," Ash stated. "The entirety of the void. Not merely a sector or a localized field. Everything. As far as our instruments can ascertain, it extends indefinitely."
Ragnar emitted a low whistle. "And I mean everything, boss. No stars are visible, no clear expanse, just that mist engulfing the entire backdrop. It possesses an almost… sentient quality. Not directly, mind you, but it doesn't react like conventional matter."
He let out a soft chuckle. "Yeah, and Ash has been glued to it, like it's about to launch itself at him any second."
"It feels… wrong," Ash stated, disregarding the jab. "Just… off. Like it operates under different principles. Not like Essence or Deathmist."
I remained quiet for a beat, absorbing his words.
"And?" I prompted.
"There's more to it," Ash continued, his expression serious. "We aren't the only ones present. Multiple encampments have been established. Different species, different factions. They've all positioned themselves around the perimeter of the Crimson Zone."
Knight added with a nonchalant air, "Everyone's observing. Nobody's making a move to enter. That should tell you everything you need to know. Moreover, the mist is in the process of expanding. It's slow, but it is indeed spreading."
I shifted my attention inward and activated the Sovereign Link. The bond with Ragnar strengthened immediately.
In the ensuing moment, my perception underwent a radical alteration. I was no longer in the garden.
I found myself standing amidst the void.
Through Ragnar's senses, the spectacle unfolded.
The colossal, inert crimson star loomed before me, immense and utterly silent. Its surface, though dim, still emanated a faint, unnatural luminescence. This wasn't light in the conventional sense; it felt… restrained, as if an internal power was being deliberately suppressed.
And beyond this celestial body lay the mist. Crimson and extending infinitely.
It draped itself across the void like a shroud cast over existence, dense and all-encompassing. There was no chaotic swirling, no tempestuous behavior. Its movement was gradual, almost deliberate, concealing whatever lay beyond the star as if guarding a profound secret.
Even through Ragnar's vessel, a palpable presence could be felt emanating from within. I scrutinized it intently, extending my awareness as far as the link permitted.
"This…" I whispered through the connection, my voice resonating with the other three.
"This is going to be an exhilarating endeavor. We will meticulously explore every inch of that mist, all of us united, and then we shall uncover the mastermind behind it."
Before the discussion could progress further, a sudden, violent tremor coursed through Vaythos.
The sensation struck me instantly.
"Ah… it appears Vivi is on the verge of emergence," I announced, a slight smile gracing my lips. "I shall rendezvous with you all later."
Without awaiting their reply, I severed the connection.
