My Talent's Name Is Generator Chapter 1188: Overpowered
Previously on My Talent's Name Is Generator...
I closed my eyes for a moment and extended my perception through the surrounding Soul Sea. The answer quickly became clear. His strength itself was no longer enough to concern me. Verilux was only a Peak Saint, and after the transformation of my foundation, the difference between our individual strengths had become enormous.
But this wasn’t an ordinary battle.
Verilux’s existence was deeply connected to the Soul Sea.
As long as that connection remained intact, destroying his physical body was insufficient to truly kill him. The Soul Sea itself continued feeding his existence, allowing his shattered body and soul to regenerate from the surrounding energy.
I slowly exhaled.
"So that’s how it is."
I looked across the darkened Soul Sea.
"I can overpower you."
My eyes narrowed.
"But killing you is another matter entirely."
I already knew why Verilux refused to die.
Destroying his body was meaningless as long as his existence remained connected to the Soul Sea. The moment his physical form was destroyed, the surrounding sea would simply replenish what had been lost and reconstruct him again.
That was the same problem Gerald and I had discussed before entering the trial space, and the solution we had devised was equally simple in principle, even if executing it against an opponent like this would be anything but simple.
I needed to sever Verilux from the Soul Sea.
My gaze shifted toward the eleven rods I had carried with me. They had been designed precisely for this purpose. Once positioned around a target in the correct formation, they would establish a massive isolation formation capable of separating the target’s existence from its connection to the surrounding Soul Sea.
I pulled one of the rods from my storage space.
The instant it appeared in my hand, I activated Echo Reversion.
Space folded around me, and I vanished from Verilux’s perception before reappearing at a distant point behind the Hydra. Without wasting a moment, I plunged the first rod deep into the Soul Sea. The instant it entered the water, ancient runes illuminated across its surface before sinking beneath the waves.
I disappeared again.
Another jump carried me to the next position, where I planted the second rod.
Then the third.
Each time, I carefully calculated the distance and angle between the rods, gradually constructing the enormous formation around the area where Verilux’s existence was anchored. I had already placed three when I prepared to make the fourth jump.
A thunderous roar suddenly shook the entire Soul Sea.
I stopped.
The surface beneath me began churning violently, and millions of ripples spread outward in every direction. Then the water erupted.
Countless creatures emerged from beneath the surface.
They resembled miniature versions of Verilux, although their bodies were far smaller. Some were serpentine creatures with elongated bodies, while others resembled tiny hydras with multiple heads. Others looked like enormous snakes or wingless dragons, their bodies formed entirely from condensed Soul Force.
There were millions of them.
They surged through the Soul Sea like a living tide, all moving toward the rods I had already planted.
I immediately understood.
Verilux had realized what I was doing. He wasn’t merely regenerating anymore. He was trying to destroy the formation before I could complete it.
I tightened my grip around my sword.
"Annoying."
I swung the sword.
Absolute Art: Boundless Collapse.
The surrounding space folded inward.
The millions of creatures were caught within the collapsing field, and their bodies began disintegrating simultaneously. Entire swarms vanished beneath the crushing force, their Soul Force scattering across the Soul Sea before being swallowed by the surrounding darkness.
But I didn’t stop there.
My perception locked onto the enormous presence beginning to reform beneath the waves.
Verilux was regenerating again.
I directed the collapsing force toward him as well.
His newly forming body shattered before it could fully stabilize, sending another enormous wave of black blood across the Soul Sea.
The moment the destruction subsided, I immediately activated Echo Reversion and appeared at the fourth position.
The fourth rod plunged into the Soul Sea. Another section of the formation illuminated.
Four.
Seven remained.
Verilux’s body began forming again.
This time, however, he attacked before his regeneration had even completely finished.
The Soul Sea erupted around his enormous body as six different Laws gathered around his seven regenerating heads. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and Ice began intertwining with the terrifying Law of Destruction, creating a chaotic storm of elemental and destructive energy.
The seven heads opened their mouths.
The attack erupted.
A massive beam tore through the Soul Sea toward me, carrying the combined power of five elemental Laws and Destruction. The surrounding space distorted under its pressure, and enormous waves were forced away from its path.
I didn’t retreat.
"Absolute Art: Absolute Destruction."
Silver radiance exploded from the blade.
A brilliant beam shot forward from its tip and collided directly with Verilux’s attack. The two forces met for only an instant before my silver beam tore through the combined Laws, splitting the attack apart as though it were nothing more than fragile cloth.
The silver beam continued forward.
It struck Verilux.
Six of his heads disappeared instantly.
His enormous body was blown apart once again, scattering black blood across the Soul Sea. I didn’t even wait for his regeneration.
I activated Echo Reversion.
The fifth rod appeared in my hand.
I vanished.
I appeared at the next predetermined location and drove the rod into the Soul Sea.
The formation expanded.
Verilux regenerated.
I killed him again.
Another rod.
Another position.
Another regeneration.
Another death.
The pattern continued.
Every time Verilux reconstructed his body, he attempted to interfere with the formation. Sometimes millions of serpentine creatures erupted from the Soul Sea and rushed toward the rods. Other times he attacked me directly with combinations of his Laws, trying to force me away from the formation long enough to destroy what I had already established.
None of it worked.
Whenever the creatures approached the rods, Boundless Collapse swept across the Soul Sea and annihilated them in enormous waves. Whenever Verilux himself appeared, Absolute Destruction tore through whatever attack he launched and obliterated his regenerated body before he could disrupt the formation.
I used Echo Reversion between every exchange, appearing at one location after another and planting the rods before disappearing again.
With every rod, the formation became more complete.
The space surrounding Verilux gradually began changing. The Soul Sea inside the developing formation no longer flowed naturally with the surrounding ocean. A faint boundary was beginning to emerge, invisible at first but becoming increasingly distinct as the eleven rods established their positions.
Verilux seemed to sense it.
His regeneration became increasingly violent.
His roars shook the Soul Sea as his body repeatedly formed and was destroyed, while countless waves of Soul Force surged toward the rods in desperate attempts to interfere.
But I continued.
The tenth rod disappeared beneath the Soul Sea.
Only one remained.
I held the final rod in my hand and looked toward the enormous Hydra that was once again reconstructing itself in the distance.
Around us, ten points of crimson light had already appeared beneath the surface.
The formation was almost complete.
Verilux roared.
The Soul Sea exploded upward.
And I activated Echo Reversion one final time.
