My Rich Wife Chapter 4: The Domineering Yan Ruoxue

Previously on My Rich Wife...
Qin Yu faces fierce opposition from Yan Ruoxue's doctors and bodyguards as he attempts to treat her illness by placing his hand on her chest and channeling Qi into her body. Despite feeling initial warmth, Yan Ruoxue grows frustrated with the lack of immediate results and her worsening discomfort, leading her to dismiss him after ten minutes and let him leave. Shortly after, she coughs up a dark substance and realizes her chronic symptoms have disappeared, ordering her men to bring him back.

Though the bodyguards failed to grasp what was happening, they wouldn't dare disobey Yan Ruoxue's instructions. They quickly departed to chase after Qin Yu.

Right then, Qin Yu wandered along the sidewalk of the bustling main road without direction, his face etched with despair.

He felt utterly lost about his next destination.

Returning home? Absolutely out of the question. Would he soon find himself without a place to stay?

"Dad, I've let you down," Qin Yu murmured, his thoughts drifting back to the figure from his dream.

All of a sudden, a Bentley sped toward Qin Yu and halted right in front of him.

In an instant, five bodyguards emerged from the vehicle.

"Halt!" The bodyguards obstructed Qin Yu's path.

"Miss Ruoxue demands that you return with us!" they stated flatly, their faces impassive.

Qin Yu figured Yan Ruoxue intended to hold him accountable after all. Thus, he replied, "It's fine. I'll face the repercussions of what I did. I'll go back with you."

Without protest, Qin Yu climbed into the car.

The ride passed in complete silence.

Before long, a sturdy bodyguard seized Qin Yu's arm and hauled him in front of Yan Ruoxue.

"Miss, we've brought him here as you commanded!" The bodyguard shoved Qin Yu closer to her.

Seeing this, she knitted her eyebrows.

Rising gradually from her seat, she approached the bodyguard.

"Who told you to handle him that way?" Yan Ruoxue demanded sternly.

The bodyguard froze immediately and stuttered, "I... Uh..."

"Apologize to Mr. Qin immediately," Yan Ruoxue ordered.

"Miss, I..."

"I won't say it again!" Yan Ruoxue snapped, cutting off the bodyguard mid-sentence.

The bodyguard's face flushed crimson to the tips of his ears.

He felt extreme reluctance to bow to a loser like Qin Yu.

Yet, no one would challenge Yan Ruoxue's directive. So, swallowing his pride, he lowered his head.

"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Qin." He stayed bowed and avoided lifting his gaze.

Qin Yu said, "It's okay, Miss Ruoxue. Really, no issue. Let's just forget about it."

Yan Ruoxue gave a nod and instructed, "Everyone, leave us alone."

At her words, the others scurried out of the room.

Yan Ruoxue uncorked a bottle of red wine, filled a glass for Qin Yu, and remarked, "I never imagined you possessed such medical expertise."

Qin Yu stared in shock. Overjoyed, he asked, "Miss Ruoxue, does that mean... you're completely healed?"

"Yes, that's right," Yan Ruoxue replied, a touch puzzled.

"That's fantastic! I'm thrilled for you!" Amid Qin Yu's hopelessness, a spark of optimism ignited.

"It turns out the dream was genuine!" he reflected inwardly.

"I've looked into your history, so I'm wondering why someone with your healing abilities lives such a modest existence," Yan Ruoxue said lightly.

Qin Yu sighed upon hearing her words.

"Miss Ruoxue, I'm not sure how to put it into words," Qin Yu answered with a bitter smile.

Of course, he couldn't reveal that his medical knowledge came from a dream. If he did, she'd assume he was insane.

In Yan Ruoxue's view, Qin Yu came across as modest and unassuming, which only boosted her favorable opinion of him.

"No opportunities to show your talents?" Yan Ruoxue teased.

Qin Yu chuckled softly but stayed composed.

"Fine. Tell me how I can repay you? State your demand. Or is there something specific you desire?" Yan Ruoxue probed playfully, her tone ambiguous.

Qin Yu dismissed it with a wave. "No, Miss Ruoxue. I don't require anything. You've saved me, so helping you is the very least I can offer."

"Are you certain you want nothing?" Yan Ruoxue inquired, a subtle smile playing on her lips.

"Remember, I can grant any wish you express. Just voice it." Yan Ruoxue appeared somewhat hopeful.

Shaking his head, Qin Yu replied, "I truly don't need a thing. I appreciate the kindness."

A flicker of delight appeared in Yan Ruoxue's eyes at Qin Yu's response.

At the minimum, Qin Yu struck her as sincere and good-natured.

Qin Yu's phone buzzed unexpectedly.

His mood soured when he glanced at the incoming call—it was Su Yan.

Snatching up his phone, Qin Yu stepped aside to answer.

The moment he hit accept, Su Yan's voice lashed out sharply, "Are you dead? If not, drag your *ss back here immediately!"

Fury surged through Qin Yu at her cutting remark.

Through clenched teeth, he shot back, "What makes you believe I'll return after the way you've treated me?"

Su Yan laughed mockingly right away.

"Oh, pathetic Qin Yu. Think I want you here? Spare me. My mom wants you back to sign the divorce papers," Su Yan sneered.

"Don't try any tricks! Or I'll have Zhao Gang drag you to hell!" Su Yan huffed.

Qin Yu's fists tightened at the threat.

Jaw set, he roared, "Su Yan, you're the absolute worst! Rest assured, I won't stick around you anymore! You'll rue this someday!"

"Hmph! My life's biggest regret was tying myself to a worthless trash like you!" Su Yan fired back.

She hung up abruptly after that.

A storm of conflicting feelings left Qin Yu visibly distressed.

After three years together, some affection was inevitable.

Still, resentment and shame overwhelmed any fondness he held.

"What's wrong?" Yan Ruoxue asked with a grin after sipping her wine.

Qin Yu shook his head. "Miss Ruoxue, I-I must head home now. There's an urgent matter to handle."

Yan Ruoxue batted her eyes and said, "Divorce?"

Qin Yu paused in surprise, then queried, "How did you figure that out?"

"Just a hunch," Yan Ruoxue responded casually.

"I'll accompany you," Yan Ruoxue declared, standing up.

"N-No need. I'll manage," Qin Yu refused, waving his hands.

In an authoritative voice, Yan Ruoxue insisted, "I'll drive you! Stop protesting!"

With a sense of defeat, Qin Yu departed alongside Yan Ruoxue.

As they exited the room, Yan Ruoxue's secretary approached swiftly.

Leaning in near her ear, he murmured, "Miss Ruoxue, the Chuzhou Governor and Regional Chief have arrived. They're requesting your presence at a banquet."

Yan Ruoxue felt a mild ache in her head at the news.

Massaging her temples, she whispered, "What a bother. Keep them waiting a bit. Inform them I'll be delayed."

"Understood, Miss," the secretary acknowledged.

Moments later, Yan Ruoxue's car pulled up to Qin Yu.

"Hop in," Yan Ruoxue motioned with her finger.

Realizing resistance was futile, Qin Yu boarded the car meekly.

They soon reached the Su Residence's front gate.

"Miss Ruoxue, thank you for the lift. I'll head in now," Qin Yu said politely, stepping out.

To his surprise, Yan Ruoxue exited the vehicle too.

Brushing back her hair, she beamed, "I'll come along."

"What?" Qin Yu blinked in confusion.

Yan Ruoxue wore a warm smile. "I'm curious to meet your family."
