Gu Weiwei awoke in confusion, mistaking Fu Hanzheng for a male model from a past party and panicking over sharing a bed with him. Yuan Meng and Fu Hanzheng realized she had lost all memories of recent years, including their deep relationship and two children. They arranged to take her to the hospital for examination, with Yuan Meng persuading her by feigning concern over Fu Hanzheng's condition.

Gu Weiwei pondered for a moment before nodding with utmost seriousness.

“Let’s go.”

Yuan Meng breathed a sigh of relief. “Shall we leave right now?”

Gu Weiwei nodded and glanced helplessly at Fu Hanzheng, on the verge of tears.

Out of all the men in the world, why had she ended up sleeping with Fu Hanzheng?

Mother Gu and Grandpa Gu would be absolutely furious if they found out.

“I’ll take the wheel then,” Yuan Meng volunteered, giving Fu Hanzheng an OK gesture.

Gu Weiwei trailed after her into Yuan Meng’s car, nearly crumbling at the memory of Fu Hanzheng wrapped in that towel back in the bedroom.

“Aren’t you supposed to be my sister? How come you didn’t hold me back from getting tangled with such a perilous guy? What am I supposed to do now?”

Yuan Meng’s lips quirked. She’d been bedding Fu Hanzheng for years—what was with the freakout now?

If she discovered she’d borne two kids for Fu Hanzheng, she’d faint dead away!

To spare her any more agitation, Fu Hanzheng avoided their car, driving his own vehicle to tail them all the way to He Chi’s hospital.

He Chi had barely finished an all-nighter poring over Yuan Shuo’s data alongside his team when Fu Hanzheng called to rouse him, announcing their arrival.

Yawning widely, he ushered them in. “This way. I’ve had my staff secure the data. We’ll run the EEG first, followed by CT and MRI—every test in the book.”

Gu Weiwei’s brows furrowed in puzzlement at his words.

“Aren’t we here for an HIV test? Why all these brain scans?”

He Chi jolted in shock, whipping his gaze from Gu Weiwei to Fu Hanzheng.

“H… HIV?”

What on earth?

Hadn’t they come for brain checks? Why drag HIV into this?

Yuan Meng and Gu Weiwei picked up the pace slightly, leaving Fu Hanzheng to walk with He Chi, who explained gravely, “She’s forgotten everything.”

“What?” He Chi blinked in bewilderment.

“This morning when she awoke, all memories of the past few years vanished. The experiment worked perfectly.” Fu Hanzheng let out a heavy sigh, eyes fixed on the woman ahead.

“…” He Chi stood frozen in shock.

He’d been scratching his head over sister-in-law’s bizarre actions today, but now it clicked—she’d really lost her memory.

Still, erasing those Hua Land years meant she’d wiped him from her mind too.

Fu Hanzheng shot him a look. “Yuan Shuo forwarded the experimental data—what’s the verdict on the research?”

“By pitting sister-in-law against the other subjects, we confirmed the experiment’s success. I’d assumed her immunity was a blessing, yet it proved otherwise.” He Chi sighed with deep sympathy.

Gu Weiwei’s total memory wipe rendered their entire relationship pointless.

After all the struggles to wed and start a family, one awakening hurled her back to square one. For the first time ever, He Chi genuinely pitied Fu Hanzheng.

“Any chance of restoring her memories?” Fu Hanzheng inquired.

“No promises yet, but let’s get through the exams first,” He Chi replied.

Fu Hanzheng sighed deeply. “Fine, prioritize the tests.”

He Chi nodded, curiosity piqued. “Still, why the HIV check?”

No matter the amnesia from recent years, he couldn’t fathom rushing to the hospital for that.

“Scram.” Fu Hanzheng barked sharply.
