With Yuan Meng's assistance, Gu Weiwei underwent all the brain scans.
During the examination process, Yuan Meng dialed Yuan Shuo, who restlessly paced up and down the hallway.
“Damn it, Weiwei woke up this morning and forgot everything from the past few years. She's even forgotten Fu Hanzheng now.”
Yuan Shuo found it hard to accept. “She truly remembers nothing?”
“It's true. She only recalls the party we had in Paris, and she believes Fu Hanzheng is that male model who boldly slept with her. She was furious upon learning it was Fu Hanzheng,” Yuan Meng explained while hurrying along the corridor.
After a long pause in confusion, Yuan Shuo inquired, “How is she doing right now?”
“I've brought her to the hospital for checks.” Yuan Meng let out a sigh. “I won't be able to visit my son for a while.”
Yuan Shuo pondered briefly. “I'll head to Hua Land once I wrap up things here.”
If Weiwei had indeed lost memories of recent years, Yuan Meng would remain the sole person she trusted.
Besides, she might insist on leaving Hua Land, causing major complications.
“You should return home soon. If she no longer remembers Fu Hanzheng, imagine if she demands the Gu Family arrange a meeting with Gu Siting—that would spell disaster.” Yuan Meng grew increasingly baffled.
Moreover, Gu Weiwei no longer possessed the same endearing charm from after her rebirth.
“Understood, I'll rush back immediately,” Yuan Shuo assured.
Spotting Gu Weiwei emerge from the exam room, Yuan Meng murmured, “She's coming out now anyway.”
With that, she ended the call.
Post-MRI, Gu Weiwei wore a grave look. “Didn't we come for an HIV test? Are the brain exams finished?”
He Chi felt powerless. Rubbing his nose, he replied, “HIV detection takes weeks to months.”
Noticing the kiss marks on her neck, he instantly recognized the artist's identity.
Evidently, upon waking and discovering she shared a bed with Fu Hanzheng, she insisted on this HIV check.
Gu Weiwei let out a helpless sigh and vented to Yuan Meng.
“Why drag me here if nothing shows up?”
“You mentioned a headache, right? Might as well get it examined,” Yuan Meng chuckled awkwardly.
He Chi glanced at Fu Hanzheng before telling Gu Weiwei, “Sister-in-law… step into my office…”
“For what?” Gu Weiwei eyed Yuan Meng. “Let's head home.”
“Home… where?” Yuan Meng probed.
“Shengxi Town. I must inform Master how you danced with two guys last night.” Gu Weiwei shot her a glare and entered the elevator.
Yuan Meng sighed deeply. “Your master wants us to remain here; he'll arrive in a few days.”
“Arrive?” Gu Weiwei scanned her surroundings, muttering, “Shouldn't we be in Paris? This feels like Hua Land. Not every hospital on this street can be packed with Chinese folks.”
Yuan Meng stepped into the elevator, spotting Fu Hanzheng's message: Head back to the car; I'll speak with He Chi.
Thus, she escorted her downstairs to the vehicle but stayed put without driving off.
Once inside the car, memories of the morning flooded Gu Weiwei, igniting her fury.
“I was drunk, and you're insane too! How could you let me sleep with Fu Hanzheng?!”
Yuan Meng pressed her lips together, appearing utterly helpless. After years of sharing a bed with him, outrage seemed pointless now.
