Within the hushed master bedroom, a playful flirtation hung in the air.
He scooped Gu Weiwei onto the bed, tenderly stroked her clearly slimmer cheeks, and claimed her lips in a profound kiss.
Gu Weiwei looped her arms around his neck, eagerly matching his kiss.
The soft, drawn-out kiss soon ignited into fierce passion, leaving her lost in a haze.
This time apart had brought so many twists that even Gu Weiwei, who used to hold back a bit in bed, threw herself fully into it tonight.
Yet Fu Hanzheng, exhausted from nonstop work since arriving home, didn’t go for a second round after their first.
Nestled in Fu Hanzheng’s embrace, Gu Weiwei murmured, “Aunt said that I can meet Cayman Dorrans openly sometime, and it seemed that Old Lady did not object either.”
Fu Hanzheng lifted his brows in surprise. “They really said that?”
“Well, your father did not object to it, and they agreed,” Gu Weiwei said.
Fu Hanzheng ran his fingers through her silky hair and replied thoughtfully, “Cayman Dorrans also wanted to meet you, but we left in a hurry.”
Gu Weiwei shifted to face him and suggested, “When you finish your work, let’s meet him first, and then we can see if he will meet the Old Lady.”
During her visit to the Gu Family, Cayman Dorrans had been present too. However, the crisis with Youyou prevented any chance for a proper chat.
Following the rescue, she rushed back to Hua Land alongside Fu Hanzheng.
Moreover, with the Fu Family elders voicing their wish, she resolved to see him if circumstances allowed.
After all, his age was advancing, and his health had faltered lately, leaving little time for such encounters.
Fu Hanzheng let out a soft laugh and tweaked the tip of her nose.
“Okay, whatever you say.”
Gu Weiwei tilted her head up for a gentle kiss, then yawned and murmured, “Just sleep.”
Fu Hanzheng pressed a kiss to her forehead and switched off the light.
Exhaustion from sleepless days pulled Fu Hanzheng quickly into slumber.
Gu Weiwei dozed for over an hour before the throbbing headache intensified.
In agony, she flicked on the light and started to rise for painkillers when Fu Hanzheng stirred and questioned, “Where are you going?”
“I have a headache, I need to get some painkillers,” Gu Weiwei said.
She had swallowed painkillers after dinner at the Fu Family’s mansion, but hours later, the ache surged stronger.
“I will get them,” Fu Hanzheng said, grabbing the robe from the floor and slipping it on. He fetched the pills from the medicine cabinet and returned with a glass of warm water too.
“Eat these first, if it really hurts, we can go to the hospital.”
“Let’s go tomorrow morning, you are just thinking about how to torment He Chi!” Gu Weiwei took the water and medicine.
Truthfully, she only wanted him to rest properly.
She figured that back at the Fu Family mansion, he hadn’t rested well either.
After retrieving her from A Land, she had slept the whole day away, while he dove into company matters and A Land issues without a break.
“Really, it’s not serious?” Fu Hanzheng asked.
“Yes.” Gu Weiwei nodded, swallowed the medicine, lay back down, and shut her eyes to rest.
Noting her sleepy demeanor, Fu Hanzheng drifted off without delay.
