Fu Hanzheng returned home with his brothers, who played with Youyou and Tiantian while he and Gu Weiwei decided to head back after dinner to deliver an antidote to the Qin Family, leaving the children overnight for her hospital check-up. Mrs. Fu protested but relented, allowing the couple to depart alone. Back at Pearl River, Gu Weiwei retrieved the antidote and arranged its delivery via Lei Ning. Yuan Meng arrived unexpectedly, announcing her plans to pack and return to Italy, prompting Gu Weiwei to ask about the situation in A Land.

With a helpless nod, Gu Weiwei admitted that although Gu Siting was now under control, the Gu Family's deep roots in A Land spanned years and couldn’t be dismantled in just one or two days.

“We’ve confined Gu Siting in the lab and forced him to undergo the experiment, yet nothing has occurred so far.”

However, they couldn’t simply eliminate him, and stopping him from suicide was essential too.

His survival was linked directly to her own life, after all.

“Oh right, where’s Qianqian? Didn’t you mention she got injured?” Gu Weiwei abruptly recalled Luo Qianqian, who had been hurt at the Gu Family.

Pursing her lips, Yuan Meng replied, “She’s still recovering in A Land, staying with Gu Yun Che.”

Gu Weiwei nodded, her own lips pursed. Having Gu Yun Che there put her mind at ease.

Back when she first heard the news, she’d hidden her worry to avoid alerting Gu Siting.

As a result, she remained clueless about how severe Luo Qianqian’s injuries truly were.

“Mrs. Gu and Mr. Gu headed home. They’d hoped to meet you and beg mercy for Gu Siting, but you’d already departed.” Yuan Meng fetched a can of beer, swigged it, scanned the vacant room, and added, “Where’s your little boy? Shouldn’t he be asleep by now?”

“No, he’s still back at the old mansion. It’s only Fu Hanzheng and me here.” Gu Weiwei revealed.

A wicked grin spread across Yuan Meng’s face. “Did my arrival interrupt your private time?”

After over half a month apart, their reunion had surely been fiery and intense.

“I’m discussing serious business—quit causing mischief!” Gu Weiwei shot her a fierce glare.

Sipping her beer with pursed lips, Yuan Meng said, “Gu Siting won’t easily give up, but things with Prince Zhaoqi and Shang Xu aren’t progressing smoothly. As the Crown Prince, bringing him down won’t be straightforward.”

“But Fu Hanzheng excels at such matters, so relax.”

….

“Please don’t harm Mrs. Gu and Mr. Gu. Gu Siting acted solely on his own; they bear no blame,” Gu Weiwei urged.

During her time with the Gu Family, Mrs. Gu and Grandpa Gu had always treated her kindly.

Moreover, she was convinced they’d desperately tried to halt Gu Siting’s reckless deeds, though he never heeded anyone’s counsel.

“Naturally. Gu’s Enterprise has suffered massive losses, but their leftover assets will support a serene life,” Yuan Meng assured.

“Good.” Gu Weiwei let out a sigh. Clearly, Yuan Shuo had arranged everything meticulously.

Beer in hand, Yuan Meng climbed the stairs and waved farewell.

“Let’s chat tomorrow anyway. I’ll slap on a face mask and hit the hay. Dealing with you has aged me terribly,” she grumbled while heading to her room upstairs.

Gu Weiwei stepped into the master bedroom, catching sight of Fu Hanzheng emerging from the shower clad in a bathrobe.

“Who were you chatting with?”

“Oh, Yuan Meng returned, and we just caught up,” Gu Weiwei replied, making her way to the dressing room for pajamas.

Yet before she reached it, Fu Hanzheng grabbed her from behind.

“No need to change.”

“How can I sleep without pajamas?” Gu Weiwei glared at him.

Fu Hanzheng scooped her up with a chuckle.

“I’ll strip them off you regardless, so skip changing.”
