Ling Mo orchestrates a violent takeover of Falcon, appearing on screen while his associates massacre the senior management in a swift, brutal attack. Zhang Dongyao, Anan, and Xia Na eliminate everyone in the meeting room within thirty seconds, leaving Su Qianrou as the sole survivor. Ling Mo's plan is revealed: to broadcast a message throughout Falcon, and Su Qianrou agrees to help.

Shortly after, within the confines of Falcon Camp, the identical video feed was broadcast across every active computer terminal.

“Greetings, everyone. I am Su Qianrou.”

All personnel at Falcon Camp immediately ceased their tasks, converging around the nearest computer screens.

“Effective immediately,” Su Qianrou announced on the display, “we shall be welcoming a new Chief Commander.”

She seemed to have exerted significant effort to utter this declaration, releasing a soft exhalation afterward.

And before the screen…

A moment of collective astonishment washed over the observers, followed by a bewildered query: “What’s the meaning of this? A staff reassignment?”

“Never heard any such announcement…” another individual chimed in, equally perplexed.

“Where is Yao Haidong?”

“Has he received a promotion?”

Instantly, a cacophony of discussions erupted throughout Falcon Camp. However, their focus soon returned to the screen.

The Chief of Staff seemed obligated to provide a thorough explanation…

Despite the somewhat startling nature of the announcement, the majority of the personnel didn’t exhibit signs of significant alarm.

Su Qianrou, visible on the screen, lowered her gaze for a brief period of contemplation before raising her head once more. “From this day forward, we will be integrating with Miracle Base. Ling Mo will assume the position of Chief Commander, while I will continue in my role as Chief of Staff, overseeing operations here.”

Having delivered this startling revelation, she scarcely allowed a breath for its absorption before stepping away from the frame.

The screen flickered momentarily. Subsequently, a graphic depiction of violence unfolded.

Eyes widened in disbelief as one person stammered, “Isn’t that… the Meeting Room? And these bodies…”

“That’s Yao Haidong…”

“What in the world happened?”

While the onlookers remained in a state of bewilderment, a contingent of soldiers had already secured the entrance to the Command Headquarters, weapons at the ready.

“Everyone remain in your positions and do not move. Provided there is no resistance, no harm will come to anyone. Do you understand?” the leader’s voice, muffled, conveyed the order.

These soldiers were either unfamiliar faces or had their visages completely concealed. Though their numbers were not overwhelming, the palpable sense of menace they projected deterred any impulsive actions.

At this precise juncture, the screen shifted to reveal a new individual, against a seemingly altered backdrop.

“Hello, everyone. I am Ling Mo.” Upon hearing the young man’s voice, the expressions of nearly everyone observing the computer screens underwent a noticeable transformation.

The name itself was far from unfamiliar… Even if it hadn’t been recognized previously, the events of the day the air force base separated had ensured widespread awareness of this name.

Nevertheless, many were taken aback by Ling Mo’s evident composure and the intensity of his gaze… It presented a starkly different image from the Ling Mo they had previously heard described.

However, a sudden, involuntary shiver ran through them as they recalled the gruesome scene they had just witnessed, bringing an abrupt realization.

This young man, who projected no overt aggression, had evidently employed remarkably ruthless methods to seize control of this Camp…

He was, in fact, even more formidable than Yao Haidong and his associates had suggested…

Although a number of them acknowledged… Ling Mo might not have yet secured command over the active combat units. After all, Su Qianrou, who appeared in a subordinate capacity, had seemingly been relegated to the sidelines.

Yet, this point held little consequence, for in the wake of the recent extensive Zombie assault, virtually all units were remaining stationed at the Protective Wall. Falcon Camp was, in essence, depleted of its personnel.

By the time awareness of the situation permeated, Ling Mo had already established complete control over the Command Headquarters.

Consequently, Su Qianrou’s appearance served to decisively validate his authority in one swift maneuver.

The ordinary Members paid little heed to who held command; the changes in leadership held no personal significance for them.

Their trust in Su Qianrou, believing she would not endanger them, was sufficient.

As for Yao Haidong and the rest of the senior management? Their fate was of little concern.

Ling Mo had executed his strategy flawlessly… In a flash, almost everyone possessing a modicum of foresight grasped the situation, a cold sweat breaking out.

However, certain questions lingered unresolved, such as…

How had Ling Mo managed to infiltrate the premises undetected?!

And how had the bloody altercation within the Meeting Room transpired with such conspicuous silence?

Admittedly, a portion of them possessed knowledge of the latter. To be precise, it wasn't entirely silent, but rather occurred accompanied by the strains of a dance tune…

“Allow me to introduce myself. I am the leader of Miracle Base. Effective immediately, I shall also be your leader,” Ling Mo stated, his tone measured and conversational. Despite his physical absence, an instinctive hush fell over the assembled personnel.

“Rest assured, I am not given to needless violence. In fact, for the vast majority of you, your daily lives and duties will undergo minimal alteration,” Ling Mo added with a faint smile. “As for those individuals whose circumstances are about to change… they are already deceased.”

“Ah!”

A piercing scream echoed from an upper floor, and someone within the gathering recognized the voice.

“That’s Chief of Staff Li… Deputy Chief of Staff Wang…”

“Furthermore, I am aware that many of you have families, loved ones, or friends residing in A City. Be at ease, for you will soon be reunited with them,” Ling Mo declared.

A profound silence descended upon the entirety of the Command Headquarters… The unspoken implication within Ling Mo’s words was clearly understood.

A City was also beyond salvation…

Wu Pengfei was a dedicated member of Falcon Camp, having served within the Base for a full year. He had honed his marksmanship to an exceptional degree, eventually rising to the rank of captain for a squad of newly recruited soldiers.

Observing the individuals behind him… these newcomers, a mix of ages, all bore identical expressions.

Their arduous struggle for survival had etched a profound sense of despair onto each of them.

Wu Pengfei couldn't help but remember his own past, mirroring their plight. Fortunately, his own path had been shorter before he stumbled upon a better opportunity for survival.

He attributed it all to a dear old friend…

Yet, he preferred not to dwell on those memories. When the air force base separated from Falcon, he had overheard his superiors' remarks about his old friend, remarks that bordered on curses. They had lost a more secure mode of transportation.

While the Falcon Camp had indeed instigated the situation, these individuals would still curse furiously. The motivations were irrelevant to them; only the unfavorable outcome registered.

And in that moment… he had been powerless to intervene.

“That fellow named Ling will inevitably meet his end, just you wait.” His superior had declared this once.

Consequently, Wu Pengfei occasionally pondered the well-being of his old friend. Would he be alright now?

Perhaps they would never cross paths again before their final breaths?

“Ahem…” Wu Pengfei cleared his throat, dispelling the gloom, and then addressed the new recruits, his voice carrying, “The bridge is just ahead, and the other side teems with Zombies. Remain vigilant!”

At that precise moment, however, one of the new recruits tilted his head back in astonishment, and the rest followed suit, their gazes drawn to the heavens.

Wu Pengfei was about to unleash his frustration… but then he too perceived the distinct sound.

“Whirr, whirr, whirr…”

Above them, a Helicopter was making its unhurried passage across the sky…
