My Celestial Ascension Chapter 1029: Patricia’s Problem
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
"Sir, do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked politely, maintaining a professional smile.
"No, we don’t," Yuan shook his head and said, "However, she personally invited us. You should call her and tell her that Yuan is here to see her."
The receptionist immediately called Patricia’s office and confirmed Yuan’s claim. Once she received the instruction, she ended the call and looked at Yuan.
"I’ve confirmed everything. The office is on the seventh floor of this building," the receptionist informed them.
Yuan nodded and quickly entered the elevator with Little Zoe and Sylvia.
"The door opened and closed on its own... Is this magic?" Little Zoe asked with a surprised look on her face.
"No. It’s technology and engineering. This is a lift used to move between floors comfortably," Yuan replied with a small chuckle.
Shortly afterward, they arrived at the seventh floor and stepped out of the elevator.
The office looked organized, and the environment was clean, with employees working diligently on their computers.
"This place looks completely different from what I imagined... It looks very boring," Sylvia said, looking at all the employees busy with their work.
"Did you think it would be a fun place?" Yuan asked, letting out a small chuckle.
Sylvia didn’t answer. She only let out a slight snort.
"You must be the important guests the president told me to welcome."
Suddenly, a soft yet playful voice resounded, and a beautiful woman with short hair and a pair of glasses appeared before them.
She was wearing a tight-fitting business outfit and stockings with a pair of high heels, making her look very professional.
"Hi, I’m Lizzy. I’m the secretary directly under the president," she introduced herself with a smile, but her eyes scanned Yuan, Sylvia, and Little Zoe from head to toe.
’This is... He is the one who has been going viral online recently! How did the president manage to get to know him?!’ she screamed inwardly as soon as she recognized Yuan’s handsome appearance.
’And that woman and the girl... They were part of that viral group as well!’
After calming herself down, she said, "Follow me. I’ll take you all to the president’s office."
Yuan and Sylvia nodded and followed her closely.
As they walked through the office, the employees turned their heads as soon as they noticed them.
"Whoa! Look at that beauty... She is gorgeous!"
"And that little girl... She looks so damn cute!"
"I want to hug her! She is so cute!"
"And that handsome young man following Secretary Lizzy is so handsome too!"
"Are they some kind of celebrities?"
"I haven’t seen them anywhere before, so it’s hard to tell whether they are celebrities or not."
The employees immediately began whispering to one another upon seeing Lizzy leading Yuan and the others toward the president’s office.
"Focus on your work. We don’t pay you to stare at people," Lizzy said loudly, stopping to address the employees. Her voice was cold and sharp.
All the employees immediately fell silent, turned their heads away from Yuan and the others, and resumed their work.
"President, I’ve brought the guests," Lizzy said upon stepping into Patricia’s office.
"Big Sister Patricia, what are you doing?" Little Zoe immediately walked toward Patricia and looked at the computer screen.
She saw a bunch of words on the screen that she didn’t recognize and became puzzled.
"I’m reviewing some important matters for the company. How are you doing?" Patricia asked with a smile as she picked the little girl up into her arms.
’The president knows this little girl?’ A surprised look appeared on Lizzy’s face upon seeing Patricia smile so warmly at her.
"So, I presume you’re here to see my company?" Patricia asked the little girl with a smile.
"That’s right." Little Zoe nodded with a smile before saying, "Oh, and we brought a very nice car on the way here. It’s very beautiful!"
"Oh? A nice car? I wonder what kind of car it is," Patricia chuckled softly.
"It’s a Porsche...just like yours. But it’s a different model," Yuan replied casually, smiling softly at her.
"Very good choice," she replied with a smile, looking a little surprised. "Have a seat. Don’t just stand there. Think of this as your place."
"So, are you facing any problems with your business? You look a little stressed," Yuan asked after settling onto the sofa. Sylvia sat beside him.
"Huff...!" Patricia let out a long sigh as she leaned back in her office chair.
"You’re very perceptive, Yuan. You’ve just arrived here and already seen through me," she chuckled softly.
"Yes. I’m dealing with a little problem here." She decided not to hide it from Yuan and said, "Our supplier ended their cooperation with us yesterday. And if we don’t find a new supplier soon, I’ll be facing a lot of problems."
"The Lunar Corporation wants to acquire seventy percent of our shares below the market price, and I refused. They have been eyeing my company for a while now, using dirty means to acquire it."
She told Yuan everything that was going on with the company without hiding anything. She believed that Yuan wasn’t the kind of person who would reveal this information to others and damage her company.
From what Yuan learned from Patricia, it seemed that the Lunar Corporation wanted to make Patricia go bankrupt by cutting off her supply chain.
This would lower VELoura Group’s share price, allowing the Lunar Corporation to buy the entire company at a dirt-cheap price.
It was a clever plan to pressure the owner into selling the company at a low price rather than facing bankruptcy. Large corporations often used similar tactics to absorb smaller companies like VELoura Group into their own corporations.
"So, do you have a way to solve this issue?" Sylvia asked after she understood the situation.
Patricia shook her head and replied, "I don’t know... It’s very hard to find a new supplier. I’ve already asked a few, but they all turned me down. They were being pressured by the Lunar Corporation."
"I see... By the way, I haven’t asked this, but what kind of material do you need?" Yuan asked a moment later.
"Gold. My company needs a lot of gold to craft jewelry. It’s the primary material," Patricia replied.
"Why didn’t you say so? Yuan has a lot of gold at his disposal, and he is planning to sell it." Before Yuan could say anything, Sylvia spoke with a smirk on her face.
"Oh? However, I need a large quantity, not just a few pieces of gold," Patricia said with a small chuckle.
"Well, I can give you as much gold as you want. I have enough gold to fill this entire room," Yuan said with a smirk.
"Yuan, don’t joke with me. This is a serious matter, and no one has that kind of gold," Patricia said, thinking that Yuan was joking with her.
"I’m serious. Just tell me how much gold you need. I can give it to you."
Patricia fell silent and stared at him for a couple of seconds, a surprised look on her face.
"Are you serious?" Patricia asked, looking at him with a serious expression.
"I’m very serious."
Patricia took a deep breath and said, "We need about ten kilograms of gold. With that amount, we could last for a couple of months."
"Alright. Ten kilograms isn’t much. I’ll give you a ten percent discount, considering how much you’ve helped me," Yuan nodded and said with a smile.
"Ten percent?! Are you serious?!" Patricia looked at him in disbelief.
’Just how much gold does he have to give me a ten percent discount like that?!’ she cried inwardly, seemingly shocked.
"I’m very serious about it. Just take it. Think of it as me repaying the kindness I owe you," Yuan said with a smile.
Patricia took a couple of moments to process everything, and once she had organized her thoughts, she pressed a button on her desk.
A few moments later, Lizzy walked into the office, a mysterious smile on her face.
"You called me, President?" she asked, stealing a quick glance at Yuan.
"Yes. I want you to cancel my appointments with the new suppliers I was looking for. The gold situation has been resolved, and I don’t want to beg them for a supply of gold anymore," Patricia said with a small smile.
"What?! The gold issue has been resolved?? How?" Lizzy was taken aback. She looked at Patricia with a shocked expression.
Patricia pointed at Yuan with a smile and said, "Well, he is our new gold supplier."
"..."
"What?! He’s the new supplier?!" Lizzy was so shocked that her eyes widened in disbelief.
’Is this for real?! Not only is he super handsome, but he also has a lot of money! I’m so jealous of the President!’ she screamed inwardly, unable to believe it.
Patricia shook her head and looked at Yuan. "So, when can you arrange the gold for me?"
"Whenever you want," Yuan said. "If you want it now, I can arrange it immediately."
"No need. I’ll visit your place after my shift ends. How does that sound?"
"Okay. No problem. As long as you’re fine with it, anytime is fine," Yuan said with a smile.
A while later, Yuan, Little Zoe, and Sylvia left the office building, got into their car, and headed home.
’Damn it. I forgot to ask Patricia about a well-known auction house that deals with ultra-luxury products,’ Yuan sighed inwardly as he drove the car.
