My Celestial Ascension Chapter 1016: Bringing Them Outside

After collecting his thoughts about the mysterious disappearance of his body, Yuan rose to his feet and looked for his smartphone.

A few seconds later, he found it underneath the pillow. However, when he pressed the power button, the phone didn’t turn on, showing no sign of life.

"The battery is dead... Let me put it on charge. I hope it’s not broken or something." Yuan immediately put the phone on charge on the table and began cleaning the apartment.

Thankfully, the electricity was still working despite it not being used for two years. He quickly cleaned all the furniture and appliances, then vacuumed the floor.

"Now let’s tidy up the bed, and I’ll be done with the chores." He said to himself and began fixing his bed, which hadn’t been used for two whole years.

Then he looked through the closet, searching for clothes that might fit him. However, the clothes he had in the closet were quite small for his current frame—too small, in fact.

"If I go outside wearing these, I’ll become a joke to everyone around me." Yuan sighed as he tossed aside his old clothes.

There wasn’t a single pair of clothes that could fit his current physique. He had no choice but to continue wearing the clothes from the other world.

They might appear too flashy, but at least they wouldn’t turn him into a joke. Besides, many people cosplayed and walked around wearing fancy costumes.

He then checked the phone, which was charging on the desk, and pressed the power button to boot it up.

And surprisingly, the screen lit up, bringing a smile to his face.

"As expected of my old buddy. You never disappoint me."

Once the phone was on, he checked if there was a Wi-Fi network without a password. Luckily, he found one immediately and connected to the network.

"Great! Now I’m connected to the internet! Let me see if I have any remaining balance in my account."

He immediately opened his banking app and noticed that he still had 30 dollars in his account. This was a great sign, confirming that his account was still active.

"I should let Mom and the others out now. They must be worried sick inside the Secret Realm."

With a wave of his hand, the portal to the Secret Realm appeared inside his apartment. Almost immediately, his mother stepped out of the portal.

The others also came out of the portal one after another, nearly filling the apartment, considering how small it was.

"So, this was your home... It certainly has a very weird look to it." Anna Grace mumbled in a low voice as she looked around the place.

The lights on the ceiling and the fan didn’t make any sense to her at all, as they emitted no mana or spiritual energy.

"What are these strange lights? How come they’re so bright without any mana or spiritual energy?" Anna Grace asked, a curious look on her face.

"Those are electric bulbs. They run on electricity." Yuan replied with a smile as he saw their curious looks.

"What about that strange object on the ceiling? What does it do?" Julie asked, pointing her finger at the ceiling fan.

"That’s a fan. It provides a constant stream of air, which helps people cool down during the summer." Yuan replied and switched on the fan to demonstrate.

Everyone looked at the spinning fan with surprised expressions on their faces. They were fascinated by the engineering behind it.

They then bombarded him with questions about anything they found magical, such as the TV, the refrigerator, and the vacuum cleaner.

Yuan then spent the next couple of minutes answering their questions.

Anna Grace then walked toward the window and moved the curtains, revealing the outside world through the window to everyone.

"This world... It’s completely different from our world. The buildings are tall but lack elegance, as if they have no presence at all and simply look boring." Angela muttered as she stood beside her daughter, gazing at the outside world through the glass window.

"Indeed. They lack presence..." Anna Grace nodded with a smile.

"The Spiritual Energy here is also very thin and heavily polluted... How could people live in such an environment?" Long Yuyan asked, looking at Yuan with a surprised expression.

"The people here don’t cultivate. They have no idea that cultivation exists, and they have adapted to this environment." Yuan replied with a soft sigh.

"I see... I’ve noticed there are strange box-like objects moving at high speed with people sitting inside them. What exactly are those?" Long Yuyan asked, a curious look on her face as she observed the outside world through her Divine Sense.

"Indeed. I’m also curious about them... How are they moving without any horses pulling them?" Mireya asked, looking at the cars with a curious expression.

Yuan chuckled softly and replied, "Those are cars. They are the primary means of transportation people use to travel from one place to another. They come in many shapes and sizes, depending on their purpose."

"They aren’t just used for carrying people. They also transport heavy loads from one place to another, far faster and more efficiently than a carriage." He explained.

"By the way, I’m going out for a bit. I don’t have any money on me, so I’ll go and exchange a few gold coins at a jewelry shop. Stay here and don’t go out until I come back." Yuan said as he headed for the door after storing his phone in the System Storage.

"What?! No way! I’m coming too!" Anna Grace shouted, insisting that she would go as well.

"Me too! I want to experience your world too!" Emma added, moving closer to him.

"I’m not staying here either! It’s too cramped in here." Lily added, snorting coldly at him.

Yuan couldn’t help but sigh as, one by one, everyone insisted on going with him.

"Fine. You can all come with me, but don’t leave my sight. And ignore anyone who approaches you." Yuan gave up on going alone, as he had no other choice but to take them all with him.

Once they were outside the building, Little Zoe looked at the cars speeding along the road with sparkling eyes.

"Big Brother Yuan, I want to ride in one of them!" She shouted, pointing at the fast-moving cars.

’I’ve never felt this broke before in my entire life! Well, I was broke before my reincarnation... This is so embarrassing!’ Yuan cried inwardly. He didn’t even have enough bus fare for the twenty-four people with him.

He smiled at Little Zoe and said, "Unfortunately, we don’t have money to ride in one of them."

"Once we have some, I’ll buy a few cars for us, okay?" He gently nudged her little nose with a smile.

"I understand, Big Brother." Little Zoe nodded her head, although she was a bit disappointed.

A short while later, they arrived at the most prestigious jewelry shop in the entire Metro City, and Yuan’s appearance immediately drew the attention of the people around them.

"Hey, look at all those people... Are they cosplaying?"

"They look so beautiful! It’s as if they came right out of a fantasy world! So gorgeous!"

"Even those so-called celebrities are pale in comparison! What kind of makeup are they using to get such a natural appearance?"

"Look at those long ears... They look so real!"

"And that woman is quite tall too. Is she a famous fitness trainer?"

"That young man looks very handsome too! Far more handsome than those pop stars!"

Everyone immediately pulled out their smartphones and began taking pictures of Yuan and his group, then posted them online.

Some even started livestreaming to show Yuan and the others to their followers.

"What are they doing with those square, box-like things in their hands? Why are they pointing them at us?" Anna Grace asked, whispering into Yuan’s ear.

"They’re taking pictures of us. Think of it like an instant painting. And those are smartphones in their hands." Yuan quickly explained everything to his wives.

"I see... What an amazing device. Not only can you talk to someone on the other side of the world, but you can also capture images." Lily exclaimed in disbelief.

Not just her, but the others were also shocked by this revelation. Now, they wanted to have one for themselves as well.

Shortly afterward, Yuan approached the counter, ignoring the people taking their pictures.

"Welcome to Nova Jewels. What can I do for you?" The lady at the counter asked with a polite smile on her face.

The lady was instantly blown away by Yuan’s handsome appearance, and she immediately blushed when their eyes met.

Yuan retrieved ten gold coins from his System Storage, along with a beautiful jewelry set, and placed them on the counter.

"I’d like to sell these," Yuan said with a smile.

"Ah, give me a moment. I’ll call our manager. This is a large sum of gold, and only the manager can handle it." The lady spoke before quickly leaving the area.

A couple of minutes later, she returned with a middle-aged man.

"This is our manager, Ryan Cross. He is also the owner of this shop." The receptionist introduced the manager to Yuan, who was also the owner.

"Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Ryan. I’m Yuan." Yuan extended his hand for a handshake.

"The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Yuan." Ryan Cross shook his hand with a smile on his face.

He glanced at the gold coins and the jewelry set on the counter before saying, "Let’s continue somewhere private, Mr. Yuan. I don’t think this is an appropriate place for us to discuss such a huge transaction."
