My Celestial Ascension Chapter 1008: Mother & Daughters’ Reunion

The Windfall Kingdom had changed drastically. The capital city’s walls had expanded by hundreds of meters as the city itself continued to grow.

To Yuan and the others, it had become almost unrecognizable at a glance, but the royal palace looked the same as they remembered.

"King Richard is truly a benevolent King... Under his rule, the kingdom is prospering peacefully." Valeria muttered as she looked down at the kingdom while flying on her flying sword.

"I wish my brother had even the slightest bit of his talent... He is just an idiot who can’t even rule properly." She grumbled in a low voice, complaining about Emperor Philip.

"Stop cursing your younger brother like that, young lady. He is doing great in my opinion. Look how stable our empire has become under his rule. Don’t always be so negative about him." Vanessa spoke, her voice sounding cold as she stared at her daughter with a dangerous look on her face.

"Not every King or empire is born perfect. They learn and improve over time." Long Yuyan spoke; her voice was calm, and a thin smile touched her lips.

After spending so much time with Yuan and the others, Long Yuyan had opened up to them quite a lot. Sometimes, she would even crack jokes with them.

’It’s good that she is getting along with my wives so well... I thought she would act grumpy and all, considering how old she is.’ Yuan thought with a smile.

However, he suddenly felt a chill down his spine and turned around. He noticed Long Yuyan staring at him with a cold expression.

"Did you think something inappropriate about me just now?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him suspiciously.

"What?! No!! How could I do something like that?!" Yuan replied awkwardly, surprised by her reaction.

’Women are really scary! They can even notice things that should be impossible to notice!’ Yuan cried inwardly in disbelief.

"Is that so... I don’t know why, but I feel like you’re hiding something from me." Long Yuyan said, continuing to stare at him with a narrowed gaze.

"I-I don’t know what you’re talking about," Yuan replied before continuing to fly forward.

Sometime later, they arrived at the outskirts of the Pinebrook Forest, the large forest where the Wyvern they had killed used to reside.

It took only a few minutes to cross the entire forest and arrive at their destination—the Pinebrook Village.

However, when they looked at the village, they were shocked, especially Rose, Julie, and Ava, as their eyes widened in disbelief.

The familiar Pinebrook Village was now nowhere to be seen. Instead, there was a huge city below with towering walls and tall buildings.

The entire city was guarded by hundreds of soldiers patrolling the walls.

A large line of wagons was waiting at the city gate to enter the city, along with many travelers as well.

The village had transformed into this massive city, shocking Yuan and the others. They didn’t expect the village to prosper so much in such a short amount of time that it had transformed into such a huge city.

"T-This is simply too unrealistic for me... How did Mother and Father manage to build such a huge wall in such a short amount of time?" Julie muttered in disbelief, slowly descending toward the city gate.

"Perhaps he received help from the King. After all, it’s almost impossible to build such a tall wall without the help of the Royal Family." Rose replied, also looking very shocked.

"Let’s quickly go meet our family. I’m really curious about how they’ve been doing since we left," Ava said in an excited voice.

Once they landed on the ground and moved toward the main entrance, the guards immediately stopped them and prevented them from entering the city.

Just then, one of the guards immediately recognized the faces of Yuan, Rose, Julie, and Ava. He immediately approached them with a surprised look on his face.

"Young Miss Rose, is that really you?!" The guard asked, making the other guards confused by his sudden excitement.

"Who else could it be beside me?" Rose replied in a calm voice, nodding her head with a smile.

"Hey, you! That’s our Young Miss! The City Lord’s eldest daughter. Let her pass through and apologize for your behavior!" The guard immediately shouted at the guards who had blocked their path.

"We’re sorry, Young Miss Rose..." The guards immediately apologized to Rose and the others for stopping them from entering the city.

Meanwhile, the bystanders were shocked to see the guards bowing down. They almost couldn’t believe their eyes.

"Wait... That’s the City Lord’s daughter?! She is so beautiful!" Someone exclaimed in disbelief.

"I never knew the City Lord had such a beautiful daughter! Also, who are these people? They are incredibly attractive!"

The shocked murmurs from the bystanders immediately filled the area as they looked at Yuan’s group with surprised expressions on their faces.

However, Yuan and the others ignored the people and entered the city as if their gossip didn’t bother them at all.

"This place has really changed a lot. I can’t even recognize it anymore." Rose said as they walked through the busy streets.

Shortly, they arrived at the City Lord’s mansion, which was the largest mansion in the heart of the entire city.

"They even rebuilt the entire mansion while expanding it," Yuan muttered, a surprised look on his face.

And when they entered through the gate, the guards didn’t stop them at all.

"It seems that the news of our arrival has already reached your family." Anna Grace spoke with a smile.

"It seems that way." Rose nodded.

At the doorstep of the mansion, Layla Monroe was standing with a few maids, waiting as she stared toward the gate repeatedly.

And when Yuan and the others entered through the gate, a huge smile appeared on her face, and she immediately approached them.

"Son-in-law Yuan, you’re finally here!" She exclaimed with a huge smile.

"Mother-in-law Layla, it’s been a while. How have you been?" Yuan smiled at her.

"I’m doing perfectly fine, just busy sometimes with some paperwork." She returned the smile and then looked at her three beloved daughters.

"Rose, Julie, and Ava, I missed you all so much." She said with a teary smile before pulling them into a huge hug, her arms wrapping around all three of them at once.

"We missed you too, Mom!" All three of them said in unison as they hugged her back, their eyes immediately becoming moist.

Ending the hug, Layla said, "Let’s go inside. We’ll chat once we settle down comfortably."

Once inside and seated comfortably on the sofa, Layla looked at Yuan with a mischievous smile and said, "I didn’t expect you to grow your family so large after taking all three of my daughters."

Yuan’s face turned slightly red, and he smiled awkwardly at the remark.

"It just happened..." He replied awkwardly, trying to maintain a calm expression.

"Where is Father? And what about Brother James? Why can’t we see them?" Ava asked.

"Your father and brother went to the kingdom," Layla replied. "His Highness Richard has summoned them for an important meeting at the Royal Palace."

"Well, it’s been two days since they left. They’ll probably get here by tomorrow afternoon." She added after a slight pause.

"I see... So they’re in the capital city now." Julie muttered in a low voice.

A couple of moments later, a woman entered the room. She was dressed lavishly, with many expensive pieces of jewelry adorning her body.

She looked at Yuan’s group and a soft smile appeared on her face.

"You must be Big Sister Rose. I’ve heard so much about you from my husband and mother." The woman said, gently settling onto the sofa with a smile as she looked at Rose.

"This is Marianne. She is James’s wife and my daughter-in-law." Layla introduced the woman to everyone.

"This is Rose, my eldest daughter." Layla said with a smile, introducing everyone to Marianne.

Marianne was immediately shocked by the large number of women in Yuan’s family. She had heard that her brother-in-law had multiple women and that her sisters-in-law had married the same man.

But seeing just how many women Yuan had completely left her speechless. Furthermore, Yuan was incredibly handsome, hundreds of times more handsome than her own husband, James.

Moreover, each of the women around Yuan was incredibly beautiful. Every single one of them looked like a goddess who had stepped out of a painting.

’So, this is my brother-in-law... Just as Mother-in-law said, he is incredibly handsome. It’s no wonder he has so many women around him.’ Marianne thought, swallowing nervously.

"So, where have you been all this time? You haven’t visited us even once since you left." Layla asked, looking at Yuan with a sharp gaze.

She then looked at her daughters and said, "Furthermore, you all also missed your brother’s wedding. We tried to contact you, but we couldn’t reach you. Even His Majesty couldn’t find out your whereabouts."

Yuan took a deep breath and said, "We’re sorry that we couldn’t attend James’s wedding."

And he continued, "Actually, we were on a completely different continent, which is why King Richard couldn’t find us."

"On a different continent? So you went to the Beast Continent. That was very reckless of you, Yuan." Layla said, her expression turning serious.

"That place is lawless, filled with criminal organizations and underground markets. It’s a good thing that you managed to return safely."

"Well... About that... We also went to the Demonic Continent and only recently returned from there." Yuan said with an awkward smile on his face.

"What?! You went to where?!?!" Layla immediately stood up from the sofa and stared at Yuan in disbelief.
