Yuan and Angela prepare to depart for the Windfall Kingdom to visit the families of Rose, Julie, and Ava. Later, Yuan finds himself in a vision of a past life, where he witnesses a zither performance by the renowned Fairy Ling'er. When he casually criticizes her playing, he is challenged to perform himself. Under the name Tian Yi, he plays a song so masterful that it creates illusions, astonishing everyone present and earning him the admiration of Fairy Ling'er before he departs.

"Tian Yi... I’ll never forget this name," Fairy Ling’er mumbled in a low voice as she watched Tian Yi leave the pavilion.

After leaving the Fragrance Pavilion, Tian Yi vanished from everyone’s sight, his figure disappearing into thin air.

Hundreds of meters away from the Fragrance Pavilion, Tian Yi appeared inside a dark alley, moving like a shadow without making a sound.

"Now then, I should quickly finish the job and leave this place before Heaven’s Mandate gets a whiff of my presence." Tian Yi muttered to himself as a dark sword and a black mask appeared in his hands.

Tian Yi moved through the shadows as if he were part of them. No one noticed his presence as he moved, as though he didn’t exist at all.

Furthermore, he was moving terrifyingly fast by using a movement technique.

"Now, let’s gather some intel on those bastards before I rush into enemy territory. If the target isn’t there, my trip here will be a complete waste."

Tian Yi was hiding in the shadows when he noticed four people wearing disciple robes walking down the street, chatting loudly with one another.

"They are disciples of the Purple Alchemist Tower... I guess I’m lucky today." Tian Yi muttered to himself with a smile.

"Brother Zhang, have you heard that there is a notorious assassin causing chaos across the continent these days?" One of the disciples spoke.

"Are you talking about the famous Soundless Phantom, Brother Wu?"

"Oh, I heard that he massacred an entire sect a few days ago—the Radiant Sky Sect. Not a single disciple managed to escape the tragedy."

"What a tragedy... In a single night, the entire sect vanished as if it had never existed at all."

"I see, so that is why our Tower Master specially invited the Array Tower Master, Master Chen."

"Indeed. After all, he is the most prominent Array Master in our city."

Tian Yi listened to their conversation while concealing his presence and confirmed that the target was still within the tower.

"Not bad at all. Both targets are in one place. What more could I ask for?" Tian Yi chuckled softly as his figure vanished from the alley.

However, he wasn’t planning to infiltrate the Purple Alchemist Tower right now. After all, the tower must be on high alert.

He changed his mind and began investigating the tower more thoroughly, watching for an opening through which he could get inside without alerting anyone.

Just as he was investigating the area, he heard the faint sound of a zither, immediately drawing his attention toward the source.

"This sound... So that girl is practicing her zither skills at night. She really loves the zither..." Tian Yi muttered as he vanished from his spot.

A few moments later, he appeared in the courtyard where Fairy Ling’er was practicing her zither arts. She was so focused on her training that she didn’t even notice his presence despite him standing so close to her.

Tian Yi waited for her to finish the song. He sat down next to her and watched her play the zither with a small smile on his face.

A couple of moments later, Fairy Ling’er finished her song and opened her eyes, immediately becoming shocked to find Yuan sitting next to her.

"..." When she turned around, she saw the handsome face of Tian Yi staring at her with a smile, making her freeze on the spot.

"Hickkk!" She almost screamed as she jumped up, shocked by Tian Yi’s sudden appearance in her courtyard.

"Tian Yi?! What are you doing here? You almost gave me a heart attack!" She complained as she tried to calm herself down.

"If it were someone else, you’d be long dead. You suck at not only playing the zither but also keeping an eye on your surroundings." Tian Yi said with a shrug, completely ignoring her words.

"..." Fairy Ling’er stared at him with a dumbfounded expression, seemingly unable to believe what she had heard.

"What?! How can you say that with a straight face to a lady?!" She exclaimed, clearly shocked by his reply.

She then sighed softly and said, "Alright. Fine, my zither skills suck, and since you’re an expert, how about you teach me how to play the zither properly?"

"I don’t want to waste my time on someone so useless." Tian Yi shook his head.

"What?! No way! You have to teach me!" She pouted. No one had ever refused her before, and this was completely new to her.

"Why should I? Give me one reason why I should teach you." Yuan looked at her, his expression calm and unreadable.

"Because you fell in love with me? After all, I’m a beauty, and you can’t resist my charm. That’s why you are here." She said with a slight blush on her face after thinking for a moment.

"Isn’t that enough reason? Now come on and teach me. I want to become the number one zither expert in the entire Nine Heavens!"

"You’re unbelievable..." Yuan scoffed, shocked by her reasoning.

"Hey! You can’t just turn a lady down... This is disrespectful!" Fairy Ling’er said, a clearly disappointed look on her face.

Tian Yi stared at her for a couple of moments, as if he were trying to read her like an open book.

"Play a song. I’ll tell you where you went wrong." He said after thinking for a moment.

No matter how Tian Yi tried, he couldn’t ignore this girl at all. There was something about her that attracted him, and he couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was.

"Great!" Fairy Ling’er exclaimed with sparkling eyes as she began to play her favorite song—Whispers of the Moon.

Ting! Ting!

For this song, she gave her best performance to impress Tian Yi with her skills. Her fingers moved smoothly and gracefully across the zither strings, creating beautiful notes.

The people passing by her mansion stopped and listened to her song, feeling as though they were hearing the moon whispering into their ears.

A couple of moments later, the song ended, and Fairy Ling’er looked at Tian Yi with a smile, clearly proud of her performance.

"Absolute garbage!" Yuan remarked with a straight face, making her feel as though she had been struck by a punch.

Without letting her speak, he continued, "How could your skills have degraded so much? Shouldn’t you be making improvements? This is unbelievable!"

"How could someone make so many mistakes in one song? People improve with practice, and here you are, doing exactly the opposite."

Fairy Ling’er felt as though her soul was about to abandon her body after hearing Yuan’s remark. She stared at him in disbelief.

"You have to start from the very basics—the essence of the song. You must understand the essence of the song before you play it. Then, you add emotion to the song as you play it from the heart, not from the mind." Tian Yi explained, openly mocking her without any remorse.

"How could you forget such a simple concept? Feel the song from your heart, then play it. Let your heart move your fingers."

"Once you master this, I can teach you more. But for now, you must practice putting your heart into the song. Or else, don’t even expect me to teach you." He said as he got to his feet and prepared to leave.

Turning around, he said, "I’ll take my leave now. But I’ll return after a week. If you don’t improve by then, you can forget about me teaching you."

"Remember, you only have one week to improve your skills."

After saying that, Yuan’s figure disappeared from the courtyard, leaving Fairy Ling’er in a daze.

Suddenly, Yuan’s vision blurred once again, and when he opened his eyes, he found himself sleeping on the bed with his beloved grandma hugging him tightly from behind.

"Tian Yi... That’s an entirely new persona." He muttered in a low voice, making sure he didn’t wake Angela with his voice.

’And Song Ling’er... Just what is the relationship between the two? Master and apprentice? Lovers?’ He wondered inwardly, puzzled by their relationship.

However, one thing was certain—his finding the mansion that belonged to Song Ling’er and her Whispering Moon Zither wasn’t a coincidence at all.

’Everything is predetermined by fate...’ He recalled the words spoken by the Evil God. This sent goosebumps all over his body.

’Someone had already predicted millions of years ago that I would find Song Ling’er’s mansion and her beloved zither. Not just that, everything I’ve encountered thus far has already been carefully planned by someone.’ He thought, his expression frozen at the realization.

’This is terrifying... Someone predicted that I’d be here millions of years ago... This is beyond my imagination!’ Yuan screamed inwardly, seemingly shocked.

Just then, he noticed sudden movements under the blanket and turned around. He saw Angela opening her eyes and looking at him with a smile.

"Ummm... Honey, you’re up already. Good morning." She greeted him and gently kissed him on the cheek.

"Morning, Grandma." He smiled at her and kissed her back before getting up from the bed.

"Let’s wash our faces and meet everyone. Everyone must be waiting for us at the dining table." Angela said to him as she entered the bathroom.

Yuan nodded and followed her inside.

Sometime later, after having their breakfast, Yuan and the others bid farewell to the Imperial Family and left the palace.

The Imperial Family was dissatisfied with their sudden departure, but they couldn’t force them to stay. Ultimately, they gave up on trying to make them stay for a couple of days.

Once they were out of the palace, they flew into the sky and headed for the Windfall Kingdom.
