My attributes are increasing infinitely Chapter 527: Becoming a lord
Previously on My attributes are increasing infinitely...
Ethan heard the unfamiliar voice echo within his mind. The voice was unlike anything he had ever encountered. It was vast, ancient, and eternal. It seemed to transcend every concept he knew. He could not determine whether it belonged to a man or a woman. In fact, it felt as though such distinctions were meaningless to the being speaking to him.
The voice carried an indescribable authority. It was not merely powerful. It sounded as if it stood above power itself. Every word resonated through his soul and shook the very foundation of his existence. For a brief moment, Ethan simply listened in silence. Then he focused on one particular part of the message.
"Lord or Subject?" His eyes narrowed. "Lord or a Subject, huh?" he muttered. A grin slowly appeared on his face. "Before I choose, tell me what exactly those mean."
The eternal voice responded immediately. [Once a Pocket Dimensional Entity enters the Grand Axiom, they are granted a single opportunity to choose their fate. They may choose to become a Lord. Or they may choose a Lord to serve.]
Ethan listened carefully. The voice continued. "If you choose to become a Subject, you will be assigned to the domain of a Lord appropriate to your level. There are infinite Lords within the Grand Axiom. You may serve under any one of them."
Ethan remained silent. The voice then explained the second option. "If you choose to become a Lord, you will be granted a personal domain based upon your current level. This domain will become your foundation. The stronger your domain becomes, the stronger you become. The larger your domain grows, the greater your future potential." Ethan’s interest immediately increased.
The voice continued speaking.
[As a Lord, you may recruit Subjects. You will permanently gain 0.00001 percent of the total strenth possessed by each Subject under your authority.]
A strange light appeared in Ethan’s eyes. That number sounded small, very small. Yet he instantly understood its true significance. A single Subject might not matter. A hundred would matter. A thousand would matter even more. But what about a million? A billion? What about countless worlds filled with Subjects? The accumulated power would become terrifying.
The eternal voice continued. "However, the path of a Lord carries risk. If your domain collapses, you will lose your status. You will become an Astray. An Astray possesses no foundation within the Grand Axiom. You will be granted one hundred days to find a Lord and swear service. If you fail to do so, the Grand Axiom will consume your existence." Silence followed.
Ethan slowly processed everything. The Grand Axiom was essentially offering him two paths: safety or opportunity. Most intelligent people would probably choose safety. They would serve an established Lord, receive protection, receive resources, grow steadily, and avoid unnecessary risks. Unfortunately, Ethan had never been one of those people. A wide grin spread across his face. "Holy shit." His excitement was impossible to hide. The more dangerous the path sounded, the more interested he became.
Without hesitation, he made his choice. "I choose to become a Lord." The moment the words left his mouth, countless invisible laws seemed to react. The surrounding void trembled.
A mechanical notification appeared before him.
[Ding! You have chosen to become a Lord. Your level is being judged.]
A brilliant light enveloped his body. For several moments, nothing happened. Then the notification returned.
[Judgment complete. You are a Level 130 being. You are being assigned a domain within the Lower Realm of the Grand Axiom.]
Ethan raised an eyebrow. The Lower Realm. That sounded much better than being placed at the very bottom. Another notification appeared.
[Your domain will be assigned at a random location. Best of luck." The final message soon followed. "From this moment onward, communication with the Will of the Grand Axiom will require Lord Points.]
Ethan barely had time to react. Boom! His consciousness instantly faded. Everything disappeared. Space vanished. Time vanished. Even his senses vanished. Then, suddenly, his eyes opened. An overwhelming wave of energy crashed into him.
The sensation nearly made him stumble. His surroundings were saturated with spiritual energy so dense that it seemed almost liquid. Every breath he took filled his body with immense power. His skin tingled. His soul vibrated. His cultivation instincts immediately went wild.
"Damn..." Ethan slowly looked around. The landscape stretched endlessly in every direction. Towering mountains pierced the sky. Massive forests covered the horizon. Rivers of glowing energy flowed across the land like veins carrying life throughout a living organism. Even the air itself seemed alive.
"The laws of this realm..." His expression became serious. "They’re infinitely stronger than Elysium." He extended his hand. Space remained completely stable. In Elysium, a casual wave of his hand could distort reality. Here, nothing happened. The surrounding space barely acknowledged his existence. A faint smile appeared on his face. "This truly is the Infinite World."
He had finally arrived. The place he had spent countless years searching for. The true center of existence. The Grand Axiom. After observing his surroundings for a while, Ethan decided to inspect his new territory. He released his consciousness.
His divine sense expanded rapidly. One kilometer. Ten kilometers. One hundred kilometers. Five hundred kilometers. Everything proceeded smoothly. Then, after reaching approximately one thousand square kilometers, his consciousness suddenly slammed into an invisible barrier. Boom! The impact echoed through his mind. Ethan immediately withdrew his senses. His eyes narrowed.
"So this is my domain?" He walked toward the barrier. Upon reaching it, he stretched out his hand. His fingers touched an invisible wall. The barrier was completely indestructible, at least for him. No matter how much force he applied, it remained unmoving. A moment later, understanding dawned on him. The barrier marked the limits of his authority. Everything inside belonged to him. Everything outside remained inaccessible. For now.
Ethan nodded thoughtfully. Then he activated one of his greatest advantages: the Omniscience Core. Instantly, information began flooding into his mind. Countless streams of knowledge appeared. Rules. Laws. Systems. Mechanics. Secrets. Information that ordinary Lords would spend thousands of Lord Points to obtain was freely revealed to him. The process continued for several minutes. When it finally ended, Ethan possessed a far clearer understanding of the Grand Axiom.
"So that’s how it works." A smile appeared on his face. The system governing Lords was much more complex than he had expected. His domain could be upgraded, expanded, strengthened, and evolved. Almost everything depended on Lord Points. Lord Points acted as the universal currency among Lords.
They could be used to purchase information, upgrade territory, acquire resources, strengthen defenses, unlock special features, and even alter certain laws within a domain. The possibilities were nearly endless. "The more Lord Points I have, the faster I can grow." That much was obvious.
Unfortunately, there were limitations. A rather important one. As a Level 130 Lord, Ethan was not permitted to leave his domain. At least not yet. According to the information he had gathered, Lords below Level 200 were considered too weak to safely venture into the wider Grand Axiom.
Only after reaching Level 200 would he gain permission to freely leave his territory. Ethan frowned slightly. That restriction was annoying. Still, he quickly accepted it. Rules were rules. He would simply become stronger.
The information also revealed something else. Normally, nobody below Level 200 chose to become a Lord. Most people considered it suicide. The early stages were simply too difficult. New Lords lacked resources, protection, and influence. Many domains collapsed before they ever had a chance to develop. Most ascendants therefore chose to become Subjects first. Only after growing stronger would they attempt to establish their own domains. Ethan chuckled. "Looks like I’m the exception again." He was becoming accustomed to that.
Further information entered his mind. His current domain could only support a limited number of Subjects. The cap was one thousand. Furthermore, he could only recruit individuals at Level 100 or below. Anything stronger exceeded the current capacity of his domain. That immediately created a problem. Ethan’s expression became slightly helpless. His strongest followers from Elysium were all far above that threshold. Several had already reached Level 500. Others were even stronger. Under the current rules, he could not recruit any of them. Not yet.
"That’s unfortunate." He had originally planned to bring his strongest subordinates under his banner immediately. Now he would need to wait until his domain evolved. Still, it was not a major issue. The Grand Axiom was infinite. Finding new Subjects would not be difficult. What interested him more was the methods of earning Lord Points.
The possibilities were numerous: defeating rival Lords, trading resources, completing special tasks, exploration, conquest, domain development, various economic activities, and many others. The system clearly encouraged competition. Only the strongest Lords would rise. The weak would either become Subjects or disappear.
Ethan looked toward the distant horizon. A feeling of anticipation slowly filled his heart. Everything here was larger, greater, more dangerous, and more rewarding. For the first time in a very long while, he felt genuinely challenged. A smile appeared on his face. "First things first."
