Chen Ziyu was injured by a mysterious prohibition and forced to retreat, vowing revenge. Meanwhile, Mu Hanyan, Ye Lanfeng, and Fen Qianji discovered a sealed stone gate at the bottom of the lake. The two juniors worked together to break the seal, revealing a corridor lit by merfolk oil lamps, which Mu Hanyan managed to activate with a surprisingly intuitive phrase. Mu Hanyan, Ye Lanfeng, and Fen Qianji ventured deeper, eventually reaching a dazzling crystal palace.

This palace isn’t large, and standing at the entrance, they could see everything inside the hall, clearly and at once.

"What’s that? An egg?" Han Yan asked, puzzled as she gazed at the round object inside a luxurious nest in the center of the hall.

Indeed, in the center of the hall was an opulent nest. No matter how luxurious it was, it could not deny the fact that it was a nest. A noble, slightly translucent veil hung from the highest point, shading the round nest; inside was an egg even rounder than the nest itself. Surrounding the nest were many children’s toys.

"There really is a Phoenix Egg?" Fen Qianji was somewhat bewildered. He had mentioned it jokingly, but could it really be a Phoenix Egg?

"If this is a Phoenix Egg, then where are its parents?" Ye Lanfeng observed the luxurious nest. "With so many toys prepared, it shows its parents were eagerly awaiting its birth, yet there is no sign of the Phoenix."

"Perhaps something unexpected happened, and they left this world. I’ve heard that when one’s power becomes too strong, they shatter the void to enter another world. When one becomes too powerful, they are rejected by this world; even if they don’t wish to leave, the world’s natural order wouldn’t allow such an extraordinarily powerful existence," Han Yan said softly, her eyes remaining fixed on the egg, unable to look away. Why did the egg evoke such a familiarity within her, making her want to hold it in her embrace?

"I’ve heard that too; perhaps it’s true. Looking at this nest, we can tell its parents must have loved it very much," Ye Lanfeng noted as he glanced at the toys around the nest.

"Isn’t it strange that we got in so easily and found this Phoenix Egg?" Fen Qianji spoke in a serious tone.

"It was too easy," Ye Lanfeng nodded. As a Divine Beast, the Phoenix’s attitude toward humans isn’t fond. Human greed and ambition are nearly limitless; if they saw a Phoenix Egg, they would inevitably try to forge a contract, specifically a Master-Servant Contract, to make the Phoenix their servant and ally. Phoenixes must have anticipated this. How could they allow the three of us to find this place and see this egg so easily?

"Or, maybe this isn’t a Phoenix Egg?" Fen Qianji speculated.

"Even if it’s not a Phoenix Egg, such a spectacle shouldn’t be associated with an ordinary demonic beast," Ye Lanfeng slightly furrowed his brow; indeed, their entry and discovery of the egg had been too smooth.

It was as if... as if the egg was waiting for them to arrive!

While Ye Lanfeng and Fen Qianji were frowning in thought, they suddenly saw Han Yan slowly step forward, approaching the nest and reaching out to touch the egg.

"Watch out!"

"No!"

Ye Lanfeng and Fen Qianji were startled and quickly tried to stop her, but it was too late. Han Yan’s fingertips had already lightly touched the egg.

In an instant, the surrounding air distorted, rippling like water. The scenery before them changed at that moment.

Illusion Realm?

Why did the always cautious Han Yan suddenly do such a thing?

No one could understand, including Han Yan herself.

Even Han Yan didn’t know what had gotten into her. The sense of familiarity with the egg grew stronger and stronger until she couldn’t help but reach out. Only after the view changed did she realize what she had done.

She seemed to have fallen into an Illusion Realm! Had she activated the array because she touched the egg?

Where was this?

Han Yan now found herself in a peach orchard, and she saw her younger self practicing swordsmanship. Every move was meticulous, her little face full of seriousness. She remembered; when she was nine, she found a vast peach orchard not far from Canglan Sect and took a liking to it. From the age of nine to thirteen, she would come here every day to practice swordsmanship. Spring went and autumn came, never neglecting. This place held many joyous memories for her. In spring, she liked to use Qi to align the falling peach blossoms, flying them through the air beautifully. In autumn, she picked peaches here to eat. At first, she used a small knife to peel them, but found it troublesome later, and begged her second senior brother to make her a special Magic Artifact for peeling.

The materials used for that Magic Artifact were very expensive, yet no one in the sect blamed her for being wasteful, not even her father, who instead praised her second senior brother for his ingenuity in creating such things. Her childhood was spent in this atmosphere, and of course, she was in a good mood every day.

Then, in her thirteenth year, she met the unhappy young boy. That was her last day coming to this mountain for practice because she was to learn other things the next day.

That day, as she sat in a peach tree searching for the ripest peach, she saw a black-clad boy, sitting lonely under the same peach tree she was in.

This person seemed very unhappy? Did he encounter some difficulty?

Yes, she remembered. She recalled what happened in this peach orchard that year.

Han Yan slowly walked forward and saw her thirteen-year-old self sitting in the peach tree, selecting peaches, and the lonely boy in black sitting under the tree, just as it was then, exactly the same.

The thirteen-year-old Han Yan leaned her head to look at the boy below, a smile appearing on her lips as she tossed a peach down at the boy in black.

"Who?!" The boy, startled, looked up sharply, meeting a face smiling like a flower.

"Who are you?" the young girl asked with a tilted head and a smile.

"What does it matter to you?" The boy reverted to his aloof demeanor, bowed his head and ignored the girl in the tree, intending to leave. But at the next moment, peaches rained down from the tree! So many peaches poured down, leaving the boy bewildered.

"You seem unhappy. Let me treat you to a peach." The young girl jumped down from the tree, holding a peach that was white tinged with red. "This is the sweetest peach from this tree, please have it."

"How do you know this is the sweetest peach?" The boy asked instinctively, but as soon as he did, his expression changed again. He felt he had lost track of what was important. How did he get so sidetracked by the girl in front of him?

"If I say it’s the sweetest, it definitely is." The girl took out a strange tool, placed it over the peach, and in the next moment, the peach was neatly peeled.

The boy stood stunned by this scene, mouth slightly agape, staring at the peeled peach in the girl’s hand.

The girl, seeing the boy’s somewhat silly expression, found him very endearing. She laughed aloud, presenting the peach in her open palm to him: "Please have it, don’t hold back."

The boy, looking at her slender wrist, fair palm, and then at the peach, suddenly felt his ears turn a bit red and snatched the peach.
