Upon entering a mysterious palace, Han Yan, Fen Qianji, and Ye Lanfeng discover an opulent nest containing a translucent egg. While speculating if it's a Phoenix Egg and why its parents are absent, Han Yan is inexplicably drawn to it. Touching the egg plunges her into an illusion of her childhood peach orchard, where she relives the memory of meeting a lonely young boy.

"Thank you," the boy’s voice was as small as a mosquito.

"Isn’t it sweet?" The young girl giggled, tilting her head as she asked the boy.

"Yeah." The boy answered awkwardly.

"My name is Han Yan, what’s yours?" The girl’s smile was as bright as March flowers.

"Ye Lanfeng." The boy’s voice sounded gently.

"This is for you. From now on, whenever you eat fruit, use this tool. Look here, if one day it can’t peel anymore, it means the stone inside needs to be replaced." The girl stuffed the tool into the boy’s hand and then leaned over, pointing at a spot on the tool as she explained.

The girl’s sudden closeness startled the boy, and a fragrance unique to the girl lingered around his nose, making his ears even redder.

"You’ve given this to me, what about you when you want to eat fruit?" The boy asked.

"It’s fine, my second senior brother can still help me." The girl said indifferently, then widened her eyes as she looked at the boy, "In life, there are many unhappy things. But there are even more happy things. If you think there aren’t any, then do something that makes you happy yourself."

"That seems to make some sense." The boy was a bit bewildered.

"It’s the truth! Unhappy things will always get resolved and passed. As for happy things, you can create them yourself." The girl said solemnly, "Look, you met me today, I treated you to a peach, and didn’t charge you money. Isn’t eating a free peach a happy thing?"

"Then, should I pay you?" A faint smile finally appeared on the boy’s face.

"Oh no, it’s free, it’s free." The girl laughed heartily, waving her hand in refusal, then she said seriously, "But remember to bury the peach pit after you finish eating. Some peach pits can grow in the future, some can’t. It’s all about luck."

"Alright." The boy nodded.

...

In the distance, Han Yan’s heart suddenly skipped a beat.

That’s right, she remembered now, Ye Lanfeng, Ye Lanfeng...

Had she known him for a long time? She had just forgotten that it was the younger version of herself who had treated the younger Ye Lanfeng to a peach that day.

Yet from that day on, she never went to that peach grove again, and naturally, she never saw that lonely boy dressed in black, Ye Lanfeng.

Who would have thought that years later, Ye Lanfeng would go to the Canglan Sect to become a disciple?

Was he there for her?

Han Yan pondered in her heart, and in the next moment, the scene before her changed again.

It was a small town, at the end of a street in the town, a group of well-dressed children surrounded a stubborn-looking but poorly dressed child, mocking him.

"Poor little thing with no parents."

"What is a little wild child with no parents being so smug about?"

"Exactly, do you believe it? We can still beat you up today!" A child waved his fist in threat, yet in his eyes, there was an undeniable fear. It’s clear they had done such things before, but perhaps they never gained much advantage from it despite their numbers.

The child in the middle of the circle remained stubborn with silence, but his tightly clenched fists betrayed his feelings.

"Tsk, disgraceful, a group of people bullying one." A melodious yet innocent voice rang out.

The group of children turned towards the voice, seeing a little girl, as cute as a porcelain doll, walking over with a short sword in hand. The girl looked only about five or six years old, with two buns styled into her hair, making people itch to touch them. Her pretty pink outfit was something not usually seen in their town.

Faced with such a pretty girl, the group of children who had been talking harshly suddenly froze, only staring at the girl in bewilderment.

"Hey, why don’t you fight back when they’re bullying you? If I were you, I’d beat them until they lost their teeth." The girl’s words snapped the group of entranced brats back to reality, now finding her somewhat annoying instead of pretty.

"If I hit them, their parents will come and complain again. Aunt Wang would be upset." The stubborn child finally responded sullenly. It was his first time seeing such a pretty girl, and upon first glance, he thought someone so beautiful must be a princess. He had no parents, and Aunt Wang had painstakingly raised him, so he didn’t want to see her feeling sad.

"So that’s it." The girl mused. Before anyone else could react, she suddenly turned and drew her sword, slashing fiercely at the air. In an instant, a sandstorm blew, sending the group of children tumbling in screams, rolling a few times on the ground before coming to a stop, each with a bump on their heads. Ready to burst into tears, they were stopped by the girl’s fierce roar, "If anyone dares to cry, I’ll kill them! And use their meat for buns!"

Now, they dared not cry, holding back their sobs, looking at the girl in terror.

"All of you, get out. If anyone asks who bullied you, you honestly say, ’Han Yan of the Canglan Sect bullied us!’" The girl threatened fiercely, adding, "And you must say it that way, or I’ll climb into your windows at night and kill you to make human meat buns!"

Some of the children were so scared they wet their pants. They wanted to cry so badly, but dared not. They didn’t want to be made into human meat buns.

"Get lost!" The girl waved her hand impatiently.

Only then did the group scramble to their feet and run off, wailing as they ran further away.

The girl hummed in satisfaction.

Canglan Sect, Han Yan.

The stubborn child fixated on the girl who was now sheathing her sword, memorizing her name in his heart.

The girl then turned her head to him, showing a big bright smile, "You have to become strong, so strong that you can beat even their parents together, then no one will dare bully you." After speaking, the girl took out something and placed it in the child’s hand.

"What is this?" The little boy asked in confusion.

"It should help you get stronger? Dad said it can allow someone to start cultivation." The girl blinked as she pondered aloud.

"Han Yan, Han Yan... it’s time to go." A voice called from a distance.

"Ah, my dad’s calling me, I have to go now. Don’t worry, those kids won’t dare bully you again. When they get home today, they’ll get a beating!" The girl winked slyly. Knowing their children had clashed with the daughter of Fuhua Peak’s Peak Master from Canglan Sect, the parents would definitely scold them harshly instead of complaining about their kids being hit by the little boy.

"Human meat buns, you’re just scaring them." The boy, whose lips had been tightly pressed, finally showed a slight curve, he smiled.

"You look pretty nice when you smile." The girl remarked in surprise, then laughed, "Of course, I was scaring them. The buns I like are beef buns! Who’d want human meat buns, only fools would believe that."
