Jiang Fei trained Protoss soldiers with ancient individual weapons and selected elites for fighter and mech pilot simulations, preparing for a potential war without logistics support. He planned an all-out first strike against the returning Exiles or fallback recruitment if needed. After two and a half months, a massive starship arrived amid thunder, and green-skinned Exiles demanded an apology for their banishment or battle. Su Zhe refused, prioritizing his throne and choosing war.

“Alright! Please remember your choice!” The leader of the exiles beneath the city wall nodded in acknowledgment, then spun around to head back to the transport plane.

“Deal with him!” Simultaneously, Su Zhe issued the command.

“Brother? That’s not right, is it?” Su Rui hesitated stiffly. He thought that even during clashes between armies, envoys weren't executed, especially since the foe had proposed peace first.

“Hmph! They're far stronger than us. If we miss this chance to eliminate one of their top leaders, who can say what cost we'll face later to take him down!” Su Zhe responded coldly, while signaling the nearby soldiers to move in.

“Whoosh!” A light beam lanced straight at the Exile leader's back. These beam weapons fired almost instantly. Completely unprepared, the Exile leader was pierced clean through the heart!

“Whoosh whoosh whoosh...” Soldiers atop the city wall unleashed a barrage. Streams of light rained down on the exiles below the walls.

Five exiles had climbed aboard the transport plane for the negotiations this time. Besides the leader slain instantly, none others made it out—they were all riddled with holes by the chaotic fire.

“Buzz!” Spotting the dire situation, the transport plane's pilot yanked it upward in haste. But it was far too late. With Su Zhe's attack order given, how could the Protoss troops allow that transport plane to escape?

“Swoosh!” A thigh-thick light beam slammed into the transport plane. Even with its shield active, it couldn't hold against this single-soldier energy cannon's strike.

This relic weapon from ten thousand years past packed tremendous power. The civilian transport plane's shield failed utterly against it, getting breached first, followed by the hull itself.

Yet that blast missed the transport plane's critical spots. The craft kept ascending, desperate to reach the orbiting starship.

“Whoosh whoosh whoosh...” More light beams followed in quick succession. Ultimately, the transport plane couldn't make it back to the starship. It exploded mid-air, over 200 meters above the ground!

“Full assault!” Su Zhe swept his hand forward. All manner of ground-based weapons then targeted the airborne starship!

Most were handheld arms with just a handful of light energy cannons, but as energy weapons, their reach extended far. The starship hovered merely hundreds of meters overhead, so every beam struck true.

Still, the starship's energy shield absorbed all those hits. Ripples shimmered in the atmosphere—the hallmark of energy fire clashing with shields—yet the starship remained unscathed.

“Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh...” Fighter jets lifted off one by one. Their pilots had undergone only basic training; some hadn't even mastered landings before scrambling to engage the foe.

These second-rate pilots wobbled their jets post-takeoff, nearly smashing into wingmates. Despite that, they charged toward the massive starship overhead.

“Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh...”

“Boom Boom Boom...”

The fighter jets kept blasting the starship with energy cannons while dumping every missile from their racks. Ten thousand years ago, Planet Namek's phase tech was cutting-edge, arming missiles with mini phase engines.

These phase missiles could slip into phase space right before hitting an enemy shield, emerging on the other side to strike the hull directly.

Such shield-bypassing power kept these missiles standard for frontline forces, even in an age dominated by advanced energy arms.

Right now, the skyborne starship tasted that firepower.

“Boom, Boom, Boom, boom...” Explosions rocked the starship's surface nonstop. Some blasts even triggered secondary detonations.

“Keep up the attack!” Su Zhe bellowed his order.

“Jiang Fei, this feels off. Why aren't they retaliating?” Su Rui furrowed his brow.

“No idea...” Jiang Fei shared the puzzlement. The enemy had arrived via starship. A single main cannon shot from it could level the entire celestial capital if they chose to fire!

Yet, Jiang Fei remained unaware that the massive starship hovering above was merely a civilian vessel for immigration. It carried only high-frequency laser armaments meant for defense, and these stayed dormant without anyone at the controls.

“Buzz... buzz...”

“Crack crack crack...”

“Boom Boom Boom...”

Accompanied by thunderous steps, towering mechs over tens of meters in height emerged beyond the city walls. They positioned their massive energy sniper rifles, locking onto the airborne starship.

“Boom Boom Boom Boom...” The energy snipers unleashed their blasts. Those potent beams sliced through the starship’s defenses with ease, tearing into its outer shell.

Even though these energy sniper cannons required a lengthy charge-up and cooldown period, the lack of counterfire from the foe gave the Protoss forces ample opportunity to recharge and strike again.

“Boom, Boom, Boom, boom...” Beneath the relentless onslaught, the colossal starship spanning over 30 kilometers in width finally buckled.

Despite the Protoss wielding just one weapon per unit and having fewer than 30 aircraft and mechs in the fray, their continuous bombardment sent the mid-air starship tumbling downward, crashing eastward beyond the city.

“Boom!” The starship slammed into the earth. The tremendous collision kicked up a massive dust cloud that blanketed the heavens, turning the imperial city into a storm of grit. Debris and rocks hurtled through the air in chaos.

“Surround the starship!” Su Zhe commanded.

“Yes!” Following Su Zhe’s directive, the troops charged through the swirling sand and dust, encircling the downed starship.

“Something’s off...” Jiang Fei furrowed his brow. Su Zhe’s forces brimmed with vulnerabilities. Ignoring supply lines altogether, the soldiers’ coordination alone revealed glaring issues in every officer’s command from top to bottom. Jiang Fei had intended to take charge of the fight himself.

But the foes offered zero resistance. Once those initial envoys for negotiation got slain, the overhead starship turned into nothing but a sitting duck, absorbing hits without reply.

When opponents merely endured punishment without striking back, one’s own flaws stayed hidden.

With the starship now wrecked and troops closing in, the dust soon settled to reveal it fully besieged. The Protoss suffered minimal casualties—just a handful of unfortunate pilots who failed to touch down and perished in the wrecks.

“Jiang Fei, do you know how to get in?” Su Rui turned to Jiang Fei and inquired. Though the starship lay crashed, the tech-illiterate Protoss couldn’t even locate an entrance.
