Su Rui warned Protoss leaders of the Exiles' imminent return under the ten-thousand-year pact and urged using sealed ancestral weapons to fight back. Elders opposed breaking ancient rules, but the crowd rallied behind Su Rui, brutally beating the elders to death with Su Zhe's approval to eliminate obstacles. Jiang Fei downloaded crucial data while learning the pact's deadline had passed, realizing he had been set up as preparations for training warriors began.

Chapter 3024: Chapter 3010 The Exiles Arrived

That very night, every individual weapon was hauled out of the cave. They did not seal it shut once more. Heavy weapons remained stored inside, but Su Zhe had posted numerous soldiers to guard the entrance tightly.

In the days that followed, Jiang Fei devised a training regimen for Su Zhe and Su Rui. These individual weapons were remarkably simple to operate; soldiers only needed to swap energy magazines, then aim and squeeze the trigger for the rest. The whole training process proved effortless.

Beyond drilling Protoss soldiers on those ancient nemesis star individual weapons, Jiang Fei tasked Su Zhe with selecting sharp, reliable troops. He aimed to groom them into pilots for fighters and mechs.

Thanks to the fully stocked equipment warehouse, complete with simulator trainers, Jiang Fei—who had forsaken the heavy weapons—formed a bold new plan. The ten-thousand-year pact had long expired, rendering the Exiles' return date unpredictable. With time on their hands, forging an elite pilot squad seemed wise. Success in battle would eliminate the need to ally with the Exiles.

Days slipped by one after another. In a flash, two weeks elapsed. Protoss troops wielding individual weapons had largely achieved combat readiness. Yet, they suffered from disjointed leadership. After all, veteran officers were versed only in cold weapon warfare and utterly failed at directing tech-armed forces.

Meanwhile, the handpicked pilots for fighters and mechs kept grinding on simulators. Though highly intelligent, these soldiers faced these devices for the first time, so their progress crawled along slowly.

Concurrently, Jiang Fei pinpointed the deadliest drawback of this scavenged tech arsenal: total absence of logistics. That turned their showdown with the Exiles into a single-shot gamble.

While Protoss ranks could swell indefinitely with recruits, destroyed weapons and gear offered no replacements. Ammunition would eventually run dry, and bereft of any tech industry, the Protoss could never erect factories to churn out arms, equipment, or bullets.

Thus, Jiang Fei plotted from the war's outset: unleash every weapon and soldier in one massive assault to crush the foe outright. Should that initial blitz falter, he stood poised to court the Exiles at the first chance.

Without logistics, entanglement in a prolonged conflict spelled doom for the Protoss, leaving no path to reversal.

As training pressed on, Jiang Fei bided his time with patience. He felt certain that Planet Namek's schemers from ten thousand years past, having maneuvered him thus far, would not release him lightly. The Exiles were bound to return soon.

The wait dragged tediously for all. Jiang Fei endured it, as did Su Zhe and Su Rui. Each day tormented them, for the war's outcome weighed far heavier on their hearts than on his.

At long last, two and a half months after breaching the seal, eerie signs erupted in the heavens!

“Boom... boom...” Thunderous roars echoed from directly overhead.

“Is it coming?”

“Is the ten-thousand-year promise coming? !”

..

Su Zhe, Su Rui, and Jiang Fei were not alone; every Celestial in the capital surged outside to witness the spectacle. Such uproar roused all save the departed.

Crack..

Ominous clouds swallowed the sky as lightning ripped through it. Moments later, an enormous shadow plunged downward, its vast span shrouding the entire celestial capital!

“This day has finally arrived!” Su Zhe murmured to himself.

“It’s Here! It’s Here! Victory or defeat depends on this one move!” Su Rui muttered. Unlike Su Zhe's tension, Su Rui appeared thrilled rather than worried.

“It’s finally coming!” Jiang Fei sighed inwardly with relief. The Exiles' arrival steadied his nerves. Protoss versus Exiles triumph mattered little to him; his true aim was seizing the level 2 password. Siding with either faction suited him equally.

Amid crashing thunder and flashing lightning, the gigantic starship descended, ultimately hovering over the imperial city.

“Swoosh!” A transport shuttle detached from the starship, darting straight for the imperial city before touching down several hundred meters away.

“Chi... Ka...” With the cabin door sliding open, several green-skinned exiles stepped out. They wore ultra-modern outfits, resembling those mechs from long ago.

“We’re the tormented souls exiled for countless years. We’ve arrived to honor the ten-thousand-year vow. Please send your leader to speak with us,” the exiles’ leader bellowed from beyond the city gates.

“Brother, should we head over?” Su Rui inquired.

“HMM...” Su Zhe hesitated slightly.

“Let’s go check it out,” Jiang Fei suggested.

“Alright!” Su Zhe agreed with a nod. He led the way up to the city wall first, followed by Su Rui, Jiang Fei, and the rest.

“Are you the one in charge here?” The Exiles’ leader called out from outside.

“Indeed! I am the king of the Protoss!” Su Zhe declared.

“Protoss... hehe... such arrogant nonsense!” The exiles’ leader sneered coldly before adding, “We’ve come now for the ten-thousand-year pact to validate our ancestors’ decision!”

“And how exactly do you plan to do that?” Su Zhe questioned.

“Should you acknowledge your past error and offer an apology to those who banished our forebears, we’ll join forces with you. We’ll cast aside old grudges and merge once more with planet Mecca’s people!” After these words from the Exiles’ leader, his voice shifted abruptly. “But if you deny your fault and refuse to atone to our ancestors, war is the only way to affirm our choice from back then!”

“En...” Su Zhe mulled it over briefly. Admitting fault and apologizing to their ancestors seemed the ideal path forward. Yet, merging the races would hand dominance to these exiles with their superior tech. Even without being deposed as the godly king, he’d lose his throne anyway.

“Mistakes? What mistakes? Technology nearly wiped us out back then. Banning it was only natural!” After some thought, Su Zhe chose the path trod by nearly every emperor before him.

Better the nation perish and the family fall than surrender rule! He too was a sovereign—no way he’d yield his realm to outsiders!

Such thoughts raced through Su Zhe’s mind right then. To these tyrants, that throne beneath them outweighed all else. They’d perish upon it if need be, taking the masses down too, and reign eternally as ghostly emperors even in death!
