No matter how limited Skye’s experience was, even she knew that kind of striking power was beyond anything a normal human could produce. Henry, that annoying bastard, had been punched so far away that he had disappeared from sight. She couldn’t even tell whether she was happy or worried.
Gilgamesh raised both hands in celebration like a victorious champion. "Well?"
Kingo shaded his eyes with one hand and gazed into the distance, equally excited. "Oh, I counted nine hundred and ninety-nine skips. Then he disappeared below the horizon, so I couldn’t count any more. The Kryptonian isn’t anything special."
Gilgamesh turned toward Kingo and said provocatively, "Didn’t I tell you? Ikaris is supposedly the strongest only because he can fly and shoot beams from his eyes.
"If he dared let me get close to him, I’d still punch him into the ground. That coward has more self-awareness than you. He knows to fly away the moment he sees me coming. Now you know who’s the strongest among the Eternals, right?"
Although he was being criticized, Kingo didn’t care in the slightest. Instead, he fanned the flames and shouted loudly, "Gilgamesh, Number One~!"
Tina reminded him, "Number One, he’s flying back. If you don’t block him, you’re probably going to get knocked away."
Unlike the man who had previously gone tumbling away like a skipping stone, Henry was now flying back along the surface of the sea with tremendous momentum! The speed was evident from the height of the V-shaped spray he kicked up.
It was almost as though the Kryptonian’s resentment had taken physical form. Even without seeing Henry’s face, Gilgamesh could tell exactly what expression he was wearing.
The towering giant neither dodged nor retreated. He planted himself firmly on the spot, assumed a fighting stance, and prepared to take Henry’s furious attack head-on.
But after flying back, Henry didn’t use his incredible momentum to attack. Instead, he came to a complete stop in an instant and landed back on the beach.
He rubbed his jaw, which had taken a heavy punch earlier, and said, "Round two! Don’t say I’m bullying you with my flight ability. Come on, come on! Whoever takes a step back because they’re scared is a turtle’s grandson."
"Do you bleed, Kryptonian?" Gilgamesh shook both arms. The luminous lines that had originally covered them became even denser, like a pair of armored bracers.
"Of course I do. You just have to try harder." Henry walked up until the two were practically face-to-face. A rare fighting spirit burned in his eyes.
Rather than being outclassed in the previous exchange, he had simply been careless. He had only wanted to experience the full strength of an Eternal and hadn’t properly prepared himself to take a beating. The increase in his opponent’s power had caught him off guard, resulting in him being sent flying.
That punch had been far heavier than anything Sentry had ever hit him with. Sentry’s strength possessed something different to it. Gilgamesh’s fists, on the other hand, represented pure physical power taken to its extreme.
So how did that compare with a Kryptonian?
Gilgamesh’s own fighting spirit was ignited as well. The "serious" mode he had mentioned earlier had merely meant using his Eternal abilities. But now, looking into his opponent’s eyes, he finally put away his playful attitude.
The two were both smiling, yet it was as though a blazing fire had erupted in their chests.
There was no starting cry and no signal from anyone. The first punch came so suddenly that all the spectators were caught off guard!
But to the two men standing opposite each other, it was merely the prelude to an epic saga—a simple appetizer.
Although Henry had drawn the line at "taking a step back," the two men actually fighting were even more extreme. Neither dodged nor evaded. They simply took each other’s punches to the face. The occasional blocks were merely them using one arm to intercept an incoming fist while throwing their own.
The attacks landed with flesh-on-flesh impact, yet the resulting sounds were like two cars colliding at high speed. The noise was utterly震撼. And it wasn’t a single collision—it was collision after collision, both men smashing into each other with all their might. The force of each impact grew greater, the noise grew louder, and the frequency of their exchanges became faster and faster.
At first, Tina and Kingo could still watch the brawl like spectators enjoying a show.
But as the fight continued, even they began to look astonished.
Cassandra and Skye, who could barely still be classified as human, were already staring with their mouths agape.
Cassandra was especially shocked. She had defeated legendary creatures such as Cyclopes and Minotaurs and had even fought the gods of the First Civilization.
Yet she had won through technique and maneuvering, never by standing in place and trading blows with her opponents head-on.
She had long understood how powerful the Eternals were.
But today, she finally realized that the Kryptonian was in no way inferior to them.
And the effects of their brawl weren’t limited to the terrifying noise. Even the beach beneath their feet suffered.
Every time their fists collided, it was like a meteor striking the ground. The sand across the entire beach bounced with every impact.
The violent vibrations affected even the spectators. Someone with an unstable stance, like the young Skye, had already fallen onto the ground.
The sounds of their punches became increasingly rapid. Their fists became increasingly difficult to distinguish.
Just as everyone’s nerves were stretched taut, with no idea when they would finally snap, all sound abruptly ceased.
Gilgamesh’s glowing armguards had now extended over his shoulders and neck, with portions of his cheeks and jaw also covered.
Yet this earth-shaking punch was firmly stopped by Henry’s forehead.
The reason Gilgamesh had stopped attacking was both an inspiration and a warning.
He had reached a critical turning point.
If he blindly threw another punch, he might die!
Henry, with his forehead pressed against the incoming fist, naturally hadn’t retreated either. Nor was he as unharmed as he appeared.
At the very least, his head was still ringing.
Even his ability to maintain self-control seemed to be showing signs of instability.
This brief halt in the fight gave both men a chance to catch their breath and recover.
The next moment, their battle resumed in exactly the same manner as the first round—only the roles had been reversed.
Henry’s uppercut broke through Gilgamesh’s guard and slammed into his chin, sending the giant soaring into the air.
When the towering West Asian man came crashing back down, the Kryptonian’s powerful straight punch sent him flying away.
Once again, he tumbled across the surface of the sea like a wheel, skipping over the waves like a stone before disappearing beyond the horizon.
This time it was Henry who raised both hands in celebration.
"Woohoo! I won! It’s just skipping a human body across the water. I could do that too."
Kingo once again shaded his eyes and looked into the distance.
"Ha, the same nine hundred and ninety-nine skips. Henry, did you do that on purpose?"
Henry spread his hands helplessly.
"How could something like that possibly be intentional? How about we have a third round after Gilgamesh comes back?"
Tina said calmly, "Then you’ll have quite a wait. He can’t fly. He’ll have to swim back."
Henry scratched his head in bewilderment.
"Did he get launched all the way to the Greek coast? Should we take the boat and pick him up?"
"I don’t recommend going to pick him up right now. Letting him cool his head in the seawater for a while might be good for him," Tina said.
She then reached down and pulled the girl who had fallen onto the ground back to her feet.
"If you want to learn how to beat him up, you’d be better off learning combat techniques from me. As for his strength, no matter how much you train, you’ll probably never reach the same level."
Skye stood up speechlessly.
There had been rumors for a long time that this man was a mutant. But no one among the mutants had ever confirmed it, and Henry himself had never stepped forward to clarify the matter.
But now, looking at him...
That wasn’t a mutant’s ability, was it?
Recalling all the clues she had noticed in the past, Skye was now filled with the same question.
Just what exactly was this guy?
