Martial Peak Chapter 6082, Can’t Do Anything To Her
Previously on Martial Peak...
The Twins provided a comprehensive account of the entire incident, omitting no particulars. They had nothing they felt the need to conceal.
Upon hearing the full story, Shi kept his expression neutral despite his internal thoughts. He contemplated pushing for more information, but he doubted the Heavenly Demon Queen would be forthcoming with them.
Countless inquiries filled his mind, and he sought clarity. Nevertheless, he understood the importance of restraint.
Having verified the primary concerns, it was time for the Twins to face their repercussions.
As it was the inaugural day, Shi intended to be especially strict. It was necessary to uphold the prestige and authority of the Discipline Council.
However, he was suddenly inundated with messages. Multiple Divine Senses bombarded him, each offering unsolicited advice on how to proceed.
Naturally, these voices belonged to the Twins’ parents and Yang Xue.
He couldn't suppress his irritation. Would they not permit him to execute his duties?
Why had they stayed silent while he interrogated the Heavenly Demon Queen, only to interfere the moment punishment was mentioned?
Ultimately, Shi transmitted a sharp rebuke back to them before refocusing on the Twins to deliver his verdict.
“The two of you will be responsible for Lei Ao. Furthermore, you will shuttle your fellow students from the dormitory to the classroom for one month. Additionally, you will serve as my assistants in the Discipline Council,” Shi declared, the veins on his forehead throbbing with stress.
[Honestly, some of them complain that I’m not using physical force. Others want me to strike them harder. Some even wonder if they would feel the pain. Yet, every single one of them wants me to help them make friends!? Have you all lost your minds? This is the Discipline Council, not a daycare center!]
Despite his internal rant, Shi could not simply disregard the collective demands of ten women. He could empathize with Yang Kai’s silent suffering, as the father had remained quiet throughout the entire chaotic ordeal.
Hearing the terms, the Twins nodded enthusiastically. To them, this hardly felt like a penalty at all.
Acting as a ferry? They were masters of the Dao of Space; such a task was trivial!
Caring for others? With so many siblings at home, they were practically experts in caretaking.
The Discipline Council? Who possessed more integrity and discipline than them? They were certain their mothers would support that claim (a blatant falsehood).
Fearing he might reconsider the leniency, the Twins quickly found an excuse to flee the room before the conversation could continue.
Watching this unfold, the mothers couldn't help but be reminded of a certain someone.
…
“I am aware you have committed many misdeeds, but isn't this architectural design a bit excessive?” Yang Kai suddenly appeared beside Shi. He was accompanied by Yang Xue, while the other wives remained listening from afar.
They had been observing from a distant, hidden chamber, capable of monitoring the entire exchange through specialized means.
“In my experience, fear is the only way to ensure children remain obedient,” Shi replied with a shrug. It remained unclear if the intimidating design of the Disciplinary Hall truly reflected his personal taste.
“Well, it seems I’ve lost. I truly didn't anticipate your children would stir up such a storm on their very first day,” Shi conceded, acknowledging the outcome of their wager.
“So, what have you discovered?” Yang Xue asked, dismissing the trivial bet between the two men. In the face of a million-year lifespan, such small wagers meant nothing.
“While I previously stated she had taken them hostage, it appears more like a symbiosis. Any injury to the Twins would prove fatal to her as well. I have never encountered a phenomenon like this. Those two children of yours are truly full of surprises,” Shi explained. While Soul Clones or Avatars share a link to a main body, this entity was an external lifeform that had somehow 'fused' with them.
“Her existence is now bound to theirs. I suspect it is a result of that peculiar Cultivation technique they practice. Regardless, given the circumstances, I doubt she intends to cause them any harm,” Shi remarked, sounding quite certain of his conclusion.
“She was also extremely cautious. I had a nagging suspicion that she was aware we were all watching her.”
“In any case, have you determined what she did to the Arrays? How did the barriers fail to stop those children from circulating their Qi?” Shi snapped his fingers, causing the Viewing Orb to display an underground chamber. This was the heart of the Grand Array, protected by numerous supplementary warding formations.
The Grand Array was designed to suppress the use of Qi in public areas of the academy for anyone lacking a teacher’s Token.
Currently, strange inscriptions on the Grand Array were pulsing with light, indicating it was functional. However, the configuration of the Array had been subtly altered from what Yang Kai remembered.
“After examining it, I’ve found Principles integrated here that I do not recognize,” Yang Kai admitted, shaking his head with a sigh.
Yang Xue was stunned. Her brother had mastered the 3,000 Daos. What Principles could possibly exist that he didn't understand? If he was ignorant of them, who could possibly know?
Shi, however, remained unfazed, as if he had expected this outcome.
Despite his vast age, the universe still held secrets beyond his grasp. Since the entity herself was an enigma, this development wasn't entirely shocking.
“Big Brother, we cannot simply leave her be!” Yang Xue urged. If the Heavenly Demon Queen feared him, surely there was a method to extract her?
Her pleas fell on deaf ears. Yang Kai refused to intervene. Had there been an immediate threat to the Twins, he would have acted without hesitation.
Though it carried some risk, the assurances from Shi and Little Eleven put him at ease. Furthermore, this was a rare chance to unravel certain cosmic mysteries. He wouldn't let such a lead vanish.
Even if Yang Kai stayed out of most affairs, he could sense an invisible force in the world preventing others from discovering the ultimate truth.
“We cannot perform a Soul Search on her. Since she refuses to talk, our only option is to monitor her closely. Leave the Grand Array as it is. If she is determined, I doubt we could stop her from altering it anyway. However, you should inspect all other formations to ensure nothing else has been compromised.”
Yang Kai nodded firmly. He took control of the Viewing Orb, shifting the focus to the male student who had piqued the Heavenly Demon Queen’s interest. He then produced a scroll.
The radiant scroll unfurled, appearing deep enough to contain an entire realm. It looked blank to the naked eye, but as Yang Kai infused it with his Divine Sense, a list of student names and portraits manifested.
In a flash, Yang Kai pulled up the boy's records.
Even so, the details were sparse.
Wu Lun, 14 years old, male, River Ocean World, Orphan, No Master, No Sect, Separation and Reunion Boundary.
The River Ocean World was merely one of the many recently restored planes within the 3,000 Worlds. It was unremarkable. The boy had no status—no parents, no background. Reaching the Separation and Reunion Boundary at fourteen was considered mediocre at best.
Yet, how did such an ordinary boy catch the eye of the Heavenly Demon Queen and evade Yang Ji and Yang Xu?
He was an anomaly, and they needed to keep him under observation.
