Martial Peak Chapter 6081, Disciplinary Hall

Previously on Martial Peak...
The Heavenly Demon Queen revealed that she tampered with the grand array, allowing only herself and the twins to freely use Qi. This caused a commotion that attracted a teacher, forcing the twins to flee back to their room. There, the Heavenly Demon Queen identified the boy they were pursuing as Ye Lun and issued a cryptic warning about a dangerous man who could threaten even their father, before disappearing into Yang Ji. Soon after, the Disciplinary Board arrived, summoning Yang Ji.

Chapter 6081, Disciplinary Hall

Author: Silavin

The Disciplinary Board operated not on the surface, but deep within the subterranean Disciplinary Hall. Yang Ji and Yang Xu remained uncertain as to why their Father had established it in such a location, but the atmosphere it projected was undeniably terrifying.

Iron chains dangled from the walls, which were adorned with skulls. If these were mere replicas, they were crafted with haunting realism; however, it was far more probable that authentic ones were simply easier to source. Deprived of any natural sunlight, the area was perpetually shrouded in gloom, illuminated only by the cold glow of Luminous Pearls and flickering blue flames. Accompanied by the eerie wails and shrieks echoing from the depths, the hall felt like a place where death itself came to rest.

Two members of the Disciplinary Board escorted Yang Ji and Yang Xu downward. As if to make an example of them, they were forced to walk the entire distance from their dormitory to this subterranean realm without the use of teleportation. This journey alone consumed several hours, meaning dusk had already settled on the world above.

Throughout the walk, the twins communicated silently via their Divine Sense. One was fuming with rage and hurling curses, while the other attempted to soothe her. Their two teacher escorts remained largely silent. This was only the first day of the academy, and they hadn't expected their duties as Disciplinary Board members to begin so immediately after the conclusion of class.

Furthermore, every instructor had been briefed on the background of these two. It was worth noting that among all of Yang Kai’s offspring, the twins received the most scrutiny. Generally, the other children were well-behaved—or perhaps they simply lacked the strength to cause significant trouble. However, given the twins' proficiency in the Dao of Space and the Dao of Time, "incidents" were almost inevitable.

The teachers soon led them into a chamber where the Head of the Disciplinary Board was waiting.

The room was cavernous, large enough to accommodate two full classes. Much of the interior was decorated with the skeletal remains and skulls of exotic Monster Beasts. The paintings on the walls were rendered entirely in red, appearing as though they had been painted with fresh blood. The oppressive, macabre energy here was far more potent than in the corridors, leaving even Yang Ji and Yang Xu feeling shaken.

A massive desk constructed from bone stood before the twins.

As the figure seated behind a large crystal sphere turned around, Yang Ji and Yang Xu’s eyes widened in shock.

“Uncle Shi!?” they both cried out in unison.

Uncle Shi was none other than Wu Kuang, the legendary Heaven Devouring Great Emperor. He stood as the sole survivor of the original ten Open Heaven Realm Masters who first taught the path of Cultivation to the Human Race.

To describe him as an ancient fossil would be an understatement. He had existed long before the Human Race rose to prominence, dating back to the era when Divine Spirits ruled the world.

To the general public, he was a mythical figure whose very existence was a mystery. However, he had met the twins before, as their Father had consulted him regarding their innate Heaven Earth Symmetry Cultivation Technique.

In the twins' eyes, Uncle Shi was the ultimate authority on cultivation methods. He was the creator of the notorious Heaven Devouring Battle Law—widely considered the most formidable and malevolent technique in existence—and was the source of nearly half of all modern Secret Techniques.

Their previous encounters had been brief, centered around his attempts to analyze the origins and mechanics of their unique Heaven Earth Symmetry Cultivation Technique.

Eventually, Shi had gained enough insight to provide them with a simplified variation of the technique before departing. He suspected a link between the Profound Source Gate and their cultivation, though the twins were entirely unaware of this theory.

They hadn't seen him since his departure, until this very moment.

“What are you doing here?” Yang Ji inquired, her curiosity piqued.

Under normal circumstances, most children would be reduced to tears or lose control of their bladders in this situation. The aura of a master at Shi’s level was enough to crush one's Soul. Furthermore, because of the sinister nature of the Heaven Devouring Battle Law, the pressure he emitted felt inherently malicious and dark.

The two teachers, despite having a higher Cultivation than the twins, were clearly trembling under the strain. In contrast, the twins appeared largely unaffected by the heavy atmosphere.

Shi eventually retracted his aura, nodded to the instructors to dismiss them, and sealed the room before speaking.

“It is good to see you both healthy. It seems I am now obligated to work for twenty years because of your antics.” Shi sighed, his voice tinged with a sense of defeat. “I can't believe you caused such a mess on your very first day. Yang Xue and Yang Kai were right; you two truly are magnets for trouble.”

“It wasn't our fault,” Yang Xu countered immediately.

“Of course not. Just like you didn't just obliterate an entire alleyway on campus,” Shi said, rolling his eyes. He gestured toward the large sphere behind him, which lit up to display the wreckage of the alleyway in question.

“Do you take me for a fool? While the school’s arrays will eventually mend the damage, rules are rules. You recklessly deployed Space Principles to demolish a public area,” Shi scolded. He released a wave of pressure so intense it would have forced even Dao Source Realm Masters to their knees.

Yet, as expected, the twins remained standing, seemingly immune to the overwhelming weight.

“It appears you can still utilize your cultivation. How?” Shi asked, his gaze sharpening as the pressure intensified with every word.

Yang Ji and Yang Xu felt their bones begin to creak. They maintained their stance, but the strain was now becoming palpable.

Yang Xu confessed, “The Grand Array has no effect on us.”

The pressure vanished instantly. It was clear Shi had only exerted it to demonstrate his authority, having no real intention of harming them.

“Just as I suspected.” Shi nodded and approached them. Extending his hand, he commanded, “Tell her to show herself.”

“Her?” Yang Ji tried to play dumb. However, Shi was blunt. “Who else? That entity calling herself the Heavenly Demon Queen. Bring her out.Your Aunt Yang Xue informed me of the events at the Profound Source Gate, and your Mother, Su Yan, provided even more detail. There is no point in hiding her from me.”

Yang Ji and Yang Xu exchanged looks. Shortly after...

“Enough of this pointless talk. You simply wish for me to acknowledge this man? Very well.” The Heavenly Demon Queen’s voice suddenly rang out, audible only to the twins.

The twins were still children; they knew that if they couldn't force her out, they could simply pester her until she gave in.

When she appeared, Shi nodded thoughtfully, walking around her like a collector examining a rare treasure. “I saw you through the Viewing Orb, but you are a fascinating specimen. You clearly do not belong to this world, yet your aura is perfectly fused with the twins. How peculiar...”

“At least you aren't blind. Speak, why have you summoned me?” the Heavenly Demon Queen asked. She watched him out of the corner of her eye, remaining composed and confident that he could not harm her.

“You show no fear. It seems you realize that any action I take against you would hurt the children. You seem wary of their Father, yet indifferent to their Mother. If it were possible, I would peel back your Soul just to examine your memories,” Shi remarked coldly. He looked at her not as a person, but as a test subject. To him, the Heavenly Demon Queen was an alien entity and a potential threat who essentially held the twins hostage.

“I am certain you didn't call me here just to spout empty threats and meaningless rhetoric,” the Heavenly Demon Queen retorted, refusing to yield.

“Fine then. Tell me, what is it about their Father that terrifies you so much?” Shi grinned, waiting for a reply. As expected, she remained silent.

“I see. Silence is your answer to anything inconvenient. Typical. You may return. I have already gathered the essential information just from your presence.” Shi turned his attention back to the crystal sphere.

With a disdainful *hmph*, the Heavenly Demon Queen retreated back into Yang Ji.

To the side, Yang Xu was quietly celebrating with a broad smirk.

A heavy silence filled the room as Shi sank into deep thought. The twins did not dare disturb him.

After a long moment, Shi shook his head and swiped his hand across the sphere. A new image appeared, catching Yang Ji and Yang Xu off guard.

On the screen was the boy who had vanished earlier that day. He was strolling through the academy grounds as if nothing had happened.

“That’s him!” Yang Ji shouted. Yang Xu added, “He’s alive?”

“Why do you think your only charges are unauthorized use of power and destruction of property? If that boy had died, I promise you that even your Parents wouldn't be able to protect you,” Shi said grimly.

While cultivators often faced death in the pursuit of power, this was an academy, not a lawless Sect. As the Head of the Disciplinary Board, it was his job to uphold the regulations.

In fact, one of his conditions for taking the job was total autonomy in his disciplinary methods. He had no patience for meddling parents; that was a headache for the Principal.

Furthermore, losing Shi would mean losing a living encyclopedia of Secret Techniques and Cultivation paths. The school would never risk such a loss over his strict methods.

“No, Uncle Shi, we didn't think we could actually kill him. It’s just... he disappeared. We have no idea how. He literally vanished right in front of us,” Yang Ji explained, still puzzled by the memory. [He really did disappear, even after we locked down Space.]

“Vanished? Describe exactly what happened.” Shi’s eyes narrowed. Once the twins had sealed that pocket of Space before its collapse, even he hadn't been able to see what occurred inside.
