Martial Peak Chapter 6080, Just What Have You Done?
Previously on Martial Peak...
“Furthermore, an issue of extreme importance seems to have been overlooked by you both. Have you considered how he was able to use his strength in this location?” The Heavenly Demon Queen’s inquiry pierced straight to the core of the situation.
“Wait, is Qi usage restricted here?” Yang Ji appeared puzzled. He hadn't sensed any suppression regarding his Qi circulation. Moreover, he doubted his sister felt any different, considering they had just successfully collapsed the local Space.
Yang Xu’s gaze sharpened instantly. She glared at the Heavenly Demon Queen with intensity, “You tampered with the Array, didn't you?”
“A sharp realization, as one would expect. Indeed, I have made certain modifications so that the three of us face no restrictions at all. Do not fret; the Array still functions exactly as intended for everyone else. We are the only ones granted this special privilege.” The Heavenly Demon Queen spoke with an air of innocence. Judging by her tone, she actually seemed to be waiting for the twins to express their thanks.
“So that explains why you disappeared for the entire night! How did you even manage to interfere with an Array buried so deep underground!? Argh! Father will be the death of us if this is discovered!” Yang Xu felt like breaking into tears. She and her brother were innocent, yet this harbinger of chaos was dragging them straight into an abyss of trouble.
“Stay composed. We weren't the ones who did it. I am sure Mother and Father will understand,” Yang Ji interjected from the side. His focus was elsewhere—specifically on the boy who had vanished right before their eyes. Despite her personality flaws, he trusted the Heavenly Demon Queen's word. She wasn't the type to claim credit for things she hadn't done; she possessed a certain 'pride'.
This area was a public zone where both mortals and cultivators crossed paths. It differed from their classrooms or the Dormitory, which were strictly for cultivators. Consequently, the Grand Array beneath them was definitely supposed to suppress the use of Qi.
Yang Ji stood still, scanning the area once more in an attempt to find the youth. Still, there was no trace. [How did he truly vanish like that? Was it a Movement Technique? Could someone that weak really utilize a Movement Technique capable of evading our senses without even using Qi?]
As they weighed these possibilities, they failed to realize that such a massive disturbance should have already drawn a crowd.
“Wait. Someone is approaching,” Yang Xu suddenly cried out, looking toward the source of the arrival.
It was clearly an instructor, drawn by the chaos they had unleashed. If Yang Xu could see them, it was certain the instructor had spotted them as well.
“Alright, we need to leave immediately.” Seeing no reason to linger, Yang Ji nodded. He swiftly tore through Space again, vanishing in an instant while taking Yang Xu and the Heavenly Demon Queen with him.
Shortly after they departed, the teacher touched down and surveyed the wreckage—shattered walls, destroyed paths, and a ruined landscape.
“How can this be?” The instructor pulled out his Token and deactivated its protection using his Divine Sense. Immediately, he felt his body grow heavy and his Qi grind to a halt. Even lifting an arm required significant physical effort. “The Array is perfectly functional. How could two students have remained unaffected by its power?”
This instructor was a Dao Seal Realm expert, yet even he was heavily suppressed by the Grand Array. It was unthinkable that two youths could bypass its effects so easily.
“The Principal must be informed of this.” The teacher quickly reactivated his Token, flooding it with Divine Sense to send a high-priority message to the Disciplinary Board.
With the local Space Principles in such a state of disorder, the culprits were obvious, especially since he had already glimpsed the twins. Furthermore, the Principal had issued specific orders that any matters involving his children were to be reported to the Disciplinary Board first.
“It is only the opening day and they are already causing havoc. It is no wonder the Principal warned us all about them…” the teacher muttered, shaking his head as he looked at the ruins.
...
The twins naturally retreated to the most familiar place they knew—their living quarters. Specifically, Yang Ji transported them directly into his own room. This was a clear violation of another regulation, as females were prohibited from entering the male dormitory, but neither of the twins cared about such rules at the moment.
“*Phew* I believe we made a clean escape,” Yang Ji remarked, though Yang Xu only let out a defeated sigh.
“Brother, it’s obvious it was us. Apart from the teachers, no one in this school can manipulate Space Principles to that extent.”
“I’m aware. However, being interrogated by a teacher would be far worse than facing Mother or Father directly.” Yang Ji remained confident they wouldn't be punished since they hadn't actually committed a crime. He believed they could explain everything if they dealt with their parents directly rather than a stranger. After all, their mother, Su Yan, had cautioned them not to reveal the Heavenly Demon Queen’s existence so easily.
“Regardless, that isn't the main issue. The main issue is that boy.” Yang Ji turned his gaze toward the Heavenly Demon Queen, who was floating nearby with a bored expression. “Who exactly is he?”
“He goes by the name Ye Lun, an orphan. He is reportedly the same age as you two and has no known affiliations,” the Heavenly Demon Queen replied casually.
“Wait, how do you know all these details?” Yang Xu felt like her head was spinning. [How could she have learned all that? She must have infiltrated the teacher’s records.]
[Only one day has passed and she has already caused this much trouble. The worst part is that she is untouchable! We’ll be the ones taking the fall for her actions!] If glares could kill, Yang Xu’s eyes would have been lethal. She stared at the small entity, wishing she could run her through. However, a more pressing thought occurred to her.
“Just what did you do last night!?” Yang Xu demanded, her jaw tight with suppressed fury.
In response, the Heavenly Demon Queen acted mysterious. “To reveal such things now would only ruin the surprise. I can only promise you this: your upcoming school life will be... very interesting. However, I must warn you with all seriousness to stay alert regarding that man. He is a threat of immense proportions, not just to you, but even to your esteemed Father.”
“Even to Father?” Yang Ji, who had remained level-headed despite his sister's anger, was stunned. “That’s impossible. Father is the most powerful. Besides, if he were truly that strong, he wouldn't have needed to run away from us.”
“You are free to listen to my advice or ignore it as you please. I have given my warning and fulfilled my obligation. Regardless, I worked through the entire night and it is time for my rest.” The Heavenly Demon Queen shrugged indifferently. Ignoring the girl’s murderous glare, she dove straight back into Yang Ji and vanished. Even when Yang Xu shouted at her and tried to reach her with Divine Sense, there was no reply.
“She has the nerve to dump all this on us and then just hide!?” Yang Xu balled her fists, her blood boiling. She had never felt this much resentment toward anyone before.
“Calm down. I know she’s a handful, but I don’t think she intends any harm,” Yang Ji said, reaching out to pat her head comfortingly.
However, Yang Xu, who usually loved his affection, brushed his hand away. “Why are you defending her? She’s already caused us massive headaches and got us into trouble. Ever since she showed up, you’ve been taking her side!”
“But she hasn't truly harmed us. And besides, she is our pet... well, maybe pet isn't the right word. She’s our friend. We can’t just abandon her, can we?” Yang Ji sighed.
But before he could finish, a knock echoed at his door...
“Yang Ji, the Disciplinary Board has arrived. Come out this instant.” A voice of immense authority boomed—a familiar voice that seemed to penetrate even the strongest Isolation Arrays.
“See! I told you!” Yang Xu stomped her foot and cursed internally. [It’s all because of that little brat!]
