Martial Peak Chapter 6079, The Mysterious Boy? Man?

Previously on Martial Peak...
Yang Ji and Yang Xu struggled with their attempts to control space, finding that any manipulation invariably led to the creation of void cracks. They realized their prior understanding of space was too intrinsically linked to the void. The Heavenly Demon Queen, having left their rooms to pursue a "fascinating" individual, refused to offer further guidance, while the twins found their first day of class rudimentary, culminating in Yang Ji asking their teacher, Li Wu Yi, how to control space without the void.

As the lecture concluded, the pupils began to scatter. Being practitioners of Cultivation, their schedules became their own once the daily teachings were finished. Some would head to the Heaven Records Pavilion to study Secret Techniques, others might vent their restlessness at the Battle Arena, or perhaps browse the wares at the Heaven Exchange Hall. Naturally, this period served as the ideal window for the youth to build connections.

Nevertheless, two specific students remained behind, accompanied by two instructors. While they weren't being disciplined, the expressions on the teachers' faces made it difficult to tell for certain.

The room had been sealed off, ensuring no sound could escape, as if the matters at hand were far too sensitive for public ears.

Li Wu Yi let out a soft sigh. "I am aware that these lessons are trivial for you two, and frankly, the other children would struggle to keep pace with your understanding. In the future, if you have inquiries of this nature, please use your Divine Sense to communicate with me. I would prefer not to leave the other students in a state of confusion."

"However, regarding the manipulation of Space without the Void, I find that concept impossible. While all things reside within the Void, Space is distinct. The Void is omnipresent and serves as the vessel for all existence." Li Wu Yi shared his personal theories regarding the Principles of Space. Even Xu Yi listened with genuine interest, despite his primary path being the Dao of Time.

Yang Ji nodded slowly, though it was unclear which part of the explanation he was acknowledging. He simply voiced his internal conflict: "If the Void is the container for everything, then how is it possible to reach the world beyond the Profound Source Gate through it?"

At these words, both Li Wu Yi and Xu Yi felt their hearts skip a beat. How could this young boy possibly know of the Profound Source Gate or the hidden realm behind it? That was a highly classified mystery known only to a select few.

Their shock was understandable; the events involving Yang Ji and Yang Xu from months ago had been kept under wraps. Li Wu Yi felt a surge of relief that he had the foresight to isolate the room before their discussion began. Originally, he had done so to prevent the other students from experiencing a Dao deviation out of confusion, but this secret was far more critical.

"How did you learn..." Li Wu Yi began, feeling a headache coming on. He shook his head and continued, "Never mind. Since the existence of that world is already known to you, I will be honest: I do not have the answer. I only know it is a realm entirely different from our own. It might still reside within the Void, and we simply haven't discovered the correct path to reach it yet."

After all, no cultivator could claim to have mapped the entirety of the Void. It stood to reason that a hidden route might exist within its infinite depths.

Suddenly, as if she had been eavesdropping through the barrier, the voice of the Heavenly Demon Queen echoed directly into the minds of the twins. "Do not delude yourselves. That realm lies entirely beyond the boundaries of the Void."

The twins weren't sure how she could bypass the isolation, but they weren't particularly surprised either. Rather than questioning her methods, they focused on the gravity of her statement.

Before they could press Li Wu Yi further, her voice rang out again.

"Your instructor has nothing more to teach you—no more insights, no more truths. Your future path is yours alone to carve. Stop wasting time with these deliberations and come to me immediately. I have need of your strength." The Heavenly Demon Queen’s urgency felt strange to the twins. This was the arrogant Queen speaking; when did she ever find herself in need of assistance?

"Is something wrong?" Xu Yi asked, noticing the twins' expressions shift rapidly from contemplation to a mix of bewilderment and anxiety.

"Uncle Li Wu Yi, I believe we have finished our questions for today," Yang Ji said quickly.

Li Wu Yi gave a simple nod. "Very well. It is your first day, after all. You should spend some time socializing with your peers."

With a flick of his wrist, the isolation barrier vanished, granting the twins their exit.

Yang Ji and Yang Xu exchanged a quick look and vanished in an instant, leaving the two adults alone in the quiet classroom.

"You aren't going to follow them? They are clearly up to something," Xu Yi remarked, extending his Divine Sense to track their movement.

"We aren't their guardians. Besides, where could they possibly go? This entire dimension was forged and sealed by their Father. They are perfectly safe. If you wish to follow, be my guest, but I suspect they will spot you immediately," Li Wu Yi replied, fully aware of the children's prowess. Even Yang Kai had to be exceptionally careful when tracking them.

Xu Yi merely shrugged. He felt that as long as his Master was present, no real harm could come to them.

...

The twins didn't need directions to find the Heavenly Demon Queen; they could sense her location instinctively. In a heartbeat, they arrived in her vicinity.

Though they could have appeared right in front of her, Yang Xu’s cautious nature led them to stop a short distance away.

The scene they stumbled upon was... bizarre. The Heavenly Demon Queen was clearly not in any peril.

In a secluded alleyway on the campus grounds, she hovered in the air. Before her, a young boy—roughly their age—was prostrate on the ground. He was kneeling with his forehead pressed against the stone, his arms outstretched in a posture of absolute surrender.

While his face was hidden, his messy hair suggested he neglected his appearance. He didn't look like a pauper, however, likely due to the fresh robes he wore.

"Hey! Why are you bullying people?" Yang Xu shouted the moment she perceived the scene through her Divine Sense.

"Bullying? How preposterous! I haven't laid a finger on him, nor have I uttered a single threat! The moment this man sensed my presence, he collapsed in terror. Is that my doing?" The Heavenly Demon Queen’s gaze sharpened as she countered. The boy on the ground didn't seem to hear their mental exchange. She commanded him aloud, "Stand up. For a powerful being to grovel like this... have you no dignity?"

The boy scrambled to his feet, a forced, oily smile plastered on his face. He had the kind of face one felt an instinctive urge to punch. He did his best to act subservient, treating the Queen as if she were a goddess. "Exalted Sister, why has someone so magnificent and powerful come to visit a lowly ant like myself? I am unworthy of such grace..."

Despite his bowed head and cupped fists, he kept stealing glances upward, trying to read the Heavenly Demon Queen’s mood.

Seeing her cold indifference, he pressed on, "Might I ask what a great figure requires from a humble servant like me?"

Ignoring his flattery, the Queen remained silent. In reality, she was mentally instructing Yang Ji and Yang Xu to help her seal off the surrounding Space.

However, the boy seemed to realize a massive cage was being constructed around him. He dropped his act instantly, a smirk tugging at his lips as he challenged, "You think you can hold me?"

Before the Space could be fully locked down, his body turned translucent. He became a flickering image, like a ghost made of mist that light passed right through. A moment later, he vanished entirely from their sight.

Even when Yang Ji and Yang Xu swept the area with their Divine Sense, they found nothing. It was as if he had been wiped from reality. Just as they were about to ask for an explanation, the Queen commanded, "Wait."

Her tone was absolute, but the twins weren't the type to be easily deterred.

"Since you aren't leaving, I assume he's still here?" Yang Xu deduced, glancing at her brother.

Yang Ji nodded, and the two of them clenched their hands simultaneously. As they did, the Principles of Space surged, and the 'cage' began to contract violently.

Space began to fracture and tear, the Void bleeding into reality and obliterating everything in its path. Only the three of them remained untouched by the destruction as they scanned for any sign of the intruder.

"Will you continue to hide? We are prepared to collapse this entire Space into the Void if necessary," the Heavenly Demon Queen declared, her eyes narrowed in focus.

She knew that if this man truly wanted to flee, it would be difficult to stop him. However, doing so would involve immense risk to himself.

Despite her warning, there was no response.

"Maybe he actually escaped?" Yang Xu wondered, but Yang Ji shook his head. "Maybe. But we've already wrecked the place. We might as well finish the job."

Yang Ji struck downward with his fist, causing the local Space to shatter completely, dragging everything into the Void.

Suddenly, the three of them were standing within the dark Void, surrounded by floating debris. Seeing that the stranger was truly nowhere to be found, Yang Ji lost interest and transported them back to the physical world.

Once they returned, the sight of the destruction reminded him of the trouble they were in.

The walls and floor were covered in jagged gashes, looking as though a massive Monster Beast had gone on a rampage. The greenery was gone, having been swallowed by the Void.

"Well... we're definitely getting yelled at again," Yang Xu muttered.

The Heavenly Demon Queen disagreed. "Not necessarily. This Space is reinforced with numerous Arrays, including those designed for self-repair. Furthermore, the vegetation will return shortly, fueled by the limitless life force of the World Tree."

"Our real concern is that man. It is quite impressive that he managed to stay hidden even through such total devastation..." the Queen remarked with a heavy sigh.
