Martial Peak Chapter 6083, Travelling Coach Service!
Previously on Martial Peak...
“Eh? What on earth is that?”
“A Travelling Coach?”
“Look, it’s those two. They’ve arrived incredibly early today!”
A wave of chatter erupted from the surrounding crowd.
“I can’t help but wonder when they found the time to put this together,” Yang Ji remarked, staring in amazement at the sight before him, seemingly indifferent to the commotion.
A group of students stood directly ahead, lined up in perfect formation. They were his fellow classmates, gathered on the central platform of the dormitory area. Beside him stood his sister, Yang Xu, who was currently gazing up at the massive sign hovering above their heads.
The enormous sign was actually a manifestation of Qi. It had been generated by channeling their Qi into a pair of Tokens provided by Li Wu Yi. These tokens were engraved with the characters ‘纪堂’, marking their status as members of the Disciplinary Board. However, it appeared that only their specific Tokens possessed the unique property of projecting that ‘Travelling Coach’ sign high into the heavens.
Regrettably, the twins lacked the power to alter the displayed text. Consequently, it was now a certainty that they would be known by everyone as the travelling coachmen from this day forward.
“Dad is the one who made this,” Yang Xu observed. The Tokens were clearly brand new, still carrying the faint, lingering aura of their father. It was obvious that the choice to put them in this role was a sudden one, forcing their father to forge these Artifacts in a single night.
Fortunately, they were basic Tokens without any complex secondary functions. Nevertheless, they were soul-bonded to the twins, ensuring no one else could utilize them. This served as an ideal cover; with these items, they could exert authority nearly equal to that of the Teachers. It allowed them to employ their Qi openly without drawing unwanted suspicion, a fact further reinforced by their Disciplinary Board positions.
Although Shi had made a grand scene about them violating the regulations, the truth was that no other student had actually witnessed their actions. Furthermore, the area they had damaged had already been restored. Thus, the debate over whether this truly qualified as a punishment was essentially irrelevant.
Besides, Wu Lun was the only other student aware of the reality. Would he actually dare to speak out against them? Would he cause trouble?
They were prepared for whatever reaction he might have.
Still, one genuine aspect of their penalty was the requirement to assemble before all their classmates. Ironically, this applied to the teachers as well, as Li Wu Yi had to ensure they reached the platform punctually.
“Very well. Everyone is present.” Li Wu Yi scanned the group and nodded. “For the duration of the coming month, Yang Ji and Yang Xu will be responsible for transporting everyone to and from their classes. You must all be here before the sun rises, or you will be forced to make your own way.”
Li Wu Yi offered no explanation for why the twins were assigned this task, leaving it to them to provide any clarification. Given the glowing Disciplinary Board Tokens, most students had likely already pieced together the situation.
With a simple nod from Li Wu Yi, Yang Ji snapped his fingers. In an instant, the entire group was shifted into the classroom. Each student found themselves standing exactly behind their assigned desk.
While it appeared as though Yang Ji had moved the entire group simultaneously, he had actually processed them individually. He had rapidly torn through space, depositing them in their specific spots. The execution was so swift that most students mistakenly believed it was a single mass teleportation.
This display highlighted Yang Ji’s incredible proficiency, especially since not a single person suffered any discomfort from the sudden journey through the Void.
After verifying that everyone was accounted for, Li Wu Yi nodded. He had expected nothing less from the pair. This only confirmed his belief that they shouldn't be idling in his class, where he only taught fundamental concepts to the other fledglings. He was grateful that Shi had provided such a convenient pretext.
“Your skills are quite impressive. I doubt this introductory course offers much to either of you. If I recall correctly, you have been assigned to look after Lei Ao. Take this to him. While you are at it, try to assist him if he has any inquiries,” Li Wu Yi announced, tossing a scroll toward Yang Xu.
As Yang Xu caught the item, Li Wu Yi sent a private message via Divine Sense: “You have already demonstrated your power and your mastery of the Dao of Space. I doubt any of your peers will feel bitter about you skipping these lessons. I suspect Shi foresaw this and arranged things so you could operate with more freedom. Just… try to keep your brother under control, alright?”
Yang Xu turned to look at Yang Ji, who already looked quite annoyed.
“Keep me under control? What exactly is he implying?” Yang Ji muttered, his voice audible only to Yang Xu.
Yang Xu simply cupped her fists and gave a quick bow before vanishing from the room, pulling Yang Ji along with her.
Li Wu Yi had clearly seen Yang Ji’s expression. He couldn't help but think to himself, [Did you really have to share what I said with your brother?]
He was unaware that Yang Ji and Yang Xu were capable of intercepting any Divine Sense communication sent to either of them. While Yang Xu could maintain her privacy if she chose, she rarely felt the need to do so. This was a perfect example of that bond.
…
“Uncle Li Wu Yi! That’s nothing but slander! Sister, why did you drag me away? I needed to set him straight!” Yang Ji complained through his Divine Sense.
However, it wasn't Yang Xu who answered him, but the Heavenly Demon Queen.
“Hahaha. That message was meant for your sister’s ears alone, not broadcasted to the whole assembly. He has shown you more grace than you likely deserve. Now, setting your ego aside, is his assessment actually wrong?” The Heavenly Demon Queen snorted, then shifted her focus to Yang Xu. “It is quite possible that her habit of deferring to your choices and following your lead has made it obvious to everyone who truly dictates your actions.”
“Furthermore, do not mistake those words for insults. View them instead as sincere advice. You would be wise to take them to heart,” the Heavenly Demon Queen cautioned before falling silent again, clearly finished with the conversation.
“Unbelievable. You just come and go as you please,” Yang Ji grumbled. However, seeing that Yang Xu didn't even attempt to disagree, he suspected there was some truth to the Queen's words.
“Fine, fine. Let’s drop the subject. We still need to locate this Lei Ao. Given his injuries, he should be in the Recovery Hall.” Yang Ji took a single step, and the environment shifted instantly. They moved from the open sky back down to the ground. The Dao of Space was truly a marvelous tool.
They now stood before vast expanses of medicinal herb fields. In front of them was a massive, multi-story structure. This building served only as the entrance and reception area, housing numerous Space Arrays within.
The location was actually quite far from the main school grounds. The Recovery Hall was merely one section of a larger complex that also included the Alchemy Hall and the Plantation Hall.
Inside the main building, various Space Arrays linked to different sectors of the academy. These were installed to minimize travel time for everyone, whether they were powerful cultivators, ordinary Mortals, or staff members. Because the facility was so sprawling, a central reception hub was essential.
Yang Ji and Yang Xu navigated through the building until they reached a large, circular reception desk staffed by several people. One particularly vibrant and beautiful woman stood out from the rest, greeting them with high energy.
“Oh my, how can I help you two cuties today?”
“We are looking for Lei Ao,” Yang Ji replied, clearly irritated by the ‘cutie’ comment. He immediately produced his Disciplinary Board Token and his Identity Plate to show he was on official business.
The receptionist took the Identity Plate and scanned it with her Divine Sense. “Ah, the very first student to end up in the infirmary. You’re in his class, aren't you? I suppose your teacher sent you with instructions. Very well. Follow your Big Sister; I’ll show you the way.”
She returned their items and guided the twins through a rear door that led toward the Recovery Hall.
As they walked, Yang Ji and Yang Xu couldn't help but admire the way the architecture and the flora seemed to intertwine. It felt as though they had stepped into a different realm where nature had completely reclaimed the structures.
Yang Ji wondered if this was one of his father’s designs, but he had a feeling his father wasn't quite that artistic. Yang Xu, on the other hand, was positive that Yang Kai hadn't designed this.
The receptionist walked with a distinct sway, emphasizing her figure. While Yang Ji was oblivious, Yang Xu certainly noticed. She wondered if this was just the woman’s natural gait or a deliberate performance. Regardless, since her brother hadn't picked up on it, she decided not to mention it.
Eventually, the lush scenery faded as they arrived at a specific door.
With a dramatic flourish, the receptionist announced, “Here we are. Lei Ao is inside. He’s currently conscious and should be ready for discharge in a few days.”
She reached out to playfully ruffle Yang Xu’s hair before turning to leave. “If you need anything else, your lovely Big Sister will be back at the front desk.”
She swayed her hips as she walked away, leading Yang Xu to conclude that was simply how she moved.
Yang Ji paid her no mind and pushed the door open, entering the room without any hesitation or greeting, as if he owned the place.
Inside, he finally laid eyes on the student who had been hospitalized for overexerting himself. However, the scene was not at all what he expected.
“Lei Ao…?” Yang Ji began, but the words died in his throat.
Why?
Because this young man, who usually carried himself with such stoic pride and was roughly their own age, was currently lying in bed and drinking from a baby bottle!
“Wow~”
