Love You Till the End Chapter 1197 - 1195: Shi Mei vs. Shi Keke (42)

"Who do you call trash!"
Qian Hao’s temper ignited immediately, and he lunged forward as if to assault Shi Keke. Fortunately, Chen Shijin intervened, restraining him. "Mr. Qian, let’s not be rash. We can discuss this civilly."
"Discuss civilly? Nonsense! I refuse to accept this. I’m a billionaire; why should I fear some insignificant little lawyer?" Qian Hao bellowed, his face contorted in rage. "Don’t hold me back! If I don’t teach her a proper lesson today, I’m no man!"
Shi Keke clicked her tongue. "How would a nameless little lawyer like myself dare to provoke a magnate like you, sir?"
"Lawyer Shi, perhaps you should speak less," Chen Shijin advised.
Shi Keke cast a dismissive glance at him. "Step aside. This has nothing to do with you."
Chen Shijin’s expression soured, feeling insulted by Shi Keke’s words. Abandoning his pretense of being the peacemaker, he released Qian Hao’s arm and moved aside.
His action was a clear signal, an indirect declaration of hostilities against Shi Keke. The existing friction between them had now escalated, making any possibility of reconciliation exceedingly remote.
Qian Hao fixed his gaze on Shi Keke, issuing a threat. "Since you understand that I’m not someone to be trifled with, you’d best be respectful. Otherwise, I’ll ensure you can no longer practice law."
"You possess the power to bar me from practicing law, but do you lack the power to win this lawsuit?"
Shi Keke’s voice remained steady as she spoke. She then casually adjusted her collar, her movements exuding an air of refined authority, akin to a queen.
Qian Hao retorted, attempting to justify his actions. "That’s merely because I possess so much wealth, I scarcely know where to put it, and thought I’d toss some your way."
"You are mistaken on several counts. Firstly, I have not accepted a single cent from you, nor do I intend to. Secondly, even if you were to offer me money, it does not guarantee my acceptance. Your generosity is intended for another." Shi Keke replied with a subtle smile, a captivating glint in her eyes.
The ‘someone else’ she alluded to was, naturally, Chen Shijin. She chose to speak so candidly because she saw no reason for continued civility towards him, deeming him and Qian Hao to be birds of a feather.
Utilizing their meager capabilities and ill-gotten wealth, they flaunt their arrogance and disdain for others.
"Oh, I see you’re a bit of a snob. However, individuals like you, so high-and-mighty, are ill-suited for the legal profession." Qian Hao scrutinized Shi Keke, then sneered. "You’re not unattractive. If you pursued a career in the nightlife industry, you could earn a fortune. How about this: cease your legal endeavors, and I’ll find you a position at a nightclub. Earning three to five thousand a night would be easily achievable for you."
Shi Keke listened intently, not with anger, but with amusement that blossomed into laughter. "Are you offering me a career opportunity because you believe my current salary is insufficient, or do you perceive my net worth to be inferior to yours?"
"Your salary is certainly adequate, as those in lower strata generally incur lower expenses. Spending three to five thousand monthly might even constitute extravagant spending for you. But in terms of net worth, do you truly believe you are qualified to compare? I can casually present a property worth millions. Do you possess millions yourself? If not, cease this pretense before me."
"Millions..." Shi Keke feigned a moment of deep thought. After a prolonged pause, she finally stated, "I do not possess millions."
Qian Hao erupted in laughter. "Indeed, you certainly don’t present yourself as someone who would have millions."
"Precisely," Shi Keke responded casually, her gaze fixed upon him. "Yet, I possess billions."
