Shi Mei recalls moments from the past when Shi Keke acted drunk, remembering intimate confessions Shi Keke made about her feelings for him and her family secrets. He enters Shi Keke's room, while Shen Cheng, attempting to eavesdrop, hears Shi Keke's moans and leaves assuming a compromising scene is happening.

"Shi Keke, what kind of appearance do you think you are, drinking like this."

Shi Mei bent his body very low, bringing his face close to Shi Keke's, his large hand tightly grasping her chin, intending to inflict a bit of pain to shock her into sobriety.

"Uh... Brother..."

Despite her drunken state, Shi Keke's mind was exceptionally clear this time.

Even though the face before her wavered and created illusions, she still recognized the person instantly.

He was the man she yearned for day and night, the one to whom she never dared to fully expose her heart.

She truly wished to seize this moment of intoxication to confess that she had harbored feelings for him for a very, very, very long time, a fondness extending far beyond that of a sister for a brother.

Shi Keke rested on the table, silently observing Shi Mei. It was rare for her to display such a vulnerable, feminine side in front of any man.

Confronted by her gaze, Shi Mei's eyes deepened. He tightened his grip, yet Shi Keke felt no pain, merely gazing at him motionlessly.

"Brother..."

After an indeterminate amount of time, Shi Keke softly uttered his name, a smile gracing her lips, an exceptionally beautiful smile.

Shi Mei finally released her chin. He removed his shirt, leaned down, and enveloped her in his embrace.

Perhaps driven by impulse, Shi Keke suddenly reached out, hooking her arms around his neck, holding him tightly, refusing to let go.

"Shi Keke, do you comprehend your actions?" The man’s expression turned sinister, his voice chillingly cold.

"I don't know, nor do I wish to know..." she articulated each word with a noticeable lack of confidence. She remained apprehensive about their relationship, knowing that even without a blood tie, being with him constituted a taboo.

"If I were not a lawyer, if I had no knowledge of the law, how wonderful that would be. Then, I wouldn't need to fret over your reputation being tarnished and could boldly declare my affection for you." she confessed.

"Regrettably, there are no 'ifs'." Shi Keke let out a laugh, tears springing to her eyes from the sheer emotion.

"So, all this time, I've been desperately suppressing my heart, fiercely restraining my emotions for you, refusing to let them take root and grow, prohibiting their spread. Yet, who could have foreseen that the more I resist, the more uncontrollable it becomes? Thus, I have lost my heart, I have lost myself..."

"At times, I ponder why such a peculiar thing as emotions exists in this world. They offer no sustenance or warmth, only causing sorrow and pain, yet countless individuals succumb to them."

"I too have fallen..."

"Brother, do you understand the sensation of liking someone? It's akin to being addicted to a substance, craving possession while simultaneously fearing proximity, for you recognize it as an endless abyss. Once you descend, there is no return."

"I am, by all accounts, a woman of strong willpower, but in the end, I could not withstand the allure. Yes, I have become ensnared, addicted to you."

"I cannot pinpoint when it began, but I found myself thinking of you constantly—every hour, every minute, every second—yearning to see you, desiring to be with you openly one day, wishing to whisper sweet nothings, longing to hold you while I sleep, wanting to bestow upon you all the goodness within me."

"But ultimately, it remains mere thought..."

Shi Keke squeezed her eyes shut. A single, shimmering tear escaped the corner of her eye, falling silently into her hair.

Though she wore a smile, tears streamed uncontrollably down her face.
