Shi Keke was organizing documents in her office when her new intern, Wei Shenshen, entered. Wei Shenshen, who Shi Keke took on as her first apprentice after witnessing her use her legal knowledge to help victims of a hit-and-run, playfully teased Shi Keke about receiving a thoughtful gift of milk.

Shi Keke indifferently regarded the milk sitting on the table, inquiring, "Who delivered it?"

Wei Shenshen pondered for a moment before replying, "I'm not certain of the man's name. When he brought the milk to the master, it seemed he didn't disclose his identity and departed shortly after."

She paused, then added, "That fellow was strikingly handsome, resembling a model. His arrival caused quite a stir throughout the entire office; numerous female colleagues rushed out to catch a glimpse, actively attempting to engage him in conversation."

Shi Keke emitted a sound of acknowledgment, a subtle smile gracing the corners of her lips, and asked, "And then what transpired?"

Wei Shenshen responded, "The man maintained an air of extreme aloofness, barely making direct eye contact with anyone, and possessed a particularly commanding aura. I felt that only the master could possibly manage a man like him."

Shi Keke let out a laugh but remained silent, leaving Wei Shenshen in a state of bewilderment. She frowned, posing a question, "If the master doesn't have a boyfriend, then perhaps he is one of the master's admirers? Does the master recall any such individual?"

Instead of answering, Shi Keke nudged a pile of documents toward Wei Shenshen, issuing an instruction: "Organize these cases by date and ensure they are delivered to my office before the morning meeting tomorrow. Are there any issues?"

"No issues," Wei Shenshen readily agreed, lifting the documents. However, she seemed reluctant to abandon the previous topic, asking, "Master, could you perhaps appease your disciple's curiosity just a little?"

"No," Shi Keke firmly refused. "As a lawyer, the gravest transgression is engaging in gossip. If you wish to avoid being the subject of talk, keep your miệng shut, focus on your work, and speak less."

"Understood, Master. I shall commence work immediately!" Wei Shenshen felt a sense of dread at the prospect of being reprimanded by Shi Keke. While not as severe as some seniors, Shi Keke possessed a knack for cutting straight to the heart of the matter, leaving no room for retort.

Clutching the documents, Wei Shenshen exited the office, shutting the door softly behind her.

The moment she was gone, Shi Keke retrieved her phone and sent a text message to Shi Mei.

[Brother, thank you.]

Shi Keke's initial thought was of him, as among all the people she knew, there was hardly another man whose presence could rival his.

Typically, Shi Mei offered no reply when Shi Keke texted him, so she harbored no great expectations and set her phone aside after the message was successfully sent.

She then picked up the bottle of milk, unscrewed the cap, and obtained a clean glass from the nearby cabinet. Pouring some milk into the glass, she took a tentative sip.

Shi Keke had never been fond of drinking milk; she was highly sensitive to its taste, often perceiving it as having a fishy and astringent odor.

Consequently, she frequently opted for a cup of coffee over milk, which led to her developing the habit of consuming coffee each morning.

This time, drinking the milk felt no different from previous occasions; she still found it unpleasantly fishy. As she forced herself to swallow, her stomach churned, bringing on an intense urge to gag.

Just then, her phone, resting on the desk, began to ring.

Upon hearing the ringtone, Shi Keke swiftly grabbed a tissue from the box beside her to wipe her mouth. She then set down the glass and picked up the phone to check the caller ID.

It was a call from Shi Mei.

Her slender fingers glided across the screen as she accepted the call, bringing the phone to her ear, and said, "Hello."

The instant she spoke, a rush of air entered her mouth, immediately triggering another bout of nausea, "Ugh—"
