Shi Keke urged her brother, Shi Mei, to drive faster. He threw her expensive makeup bag out of the car as a retort. She then mentioned a pursuing male doctor, to which Shi Mei responded with a veiled threat. Shi Keke arrived at her law firm, where male colleagues greeted her warmly, and she playfully teased one about pursuing her. However, she turned him down, citing a diet and someone at home forbidding her from dating.

Following her entrance into the office, Shi Keke began by preparing a cup of coffee. She then settled into her office chair, savoring the beverage while simultaneously organizing documents. Although she recognized that her morning coffee habit was not beneficial for her health, she found it indispensable for energizing her day.

As she was reviewing a document, a knock echoed through the room, followed by a female voice inquiring, "Master, may I come in?"

The voice belonged to Wei Shenshen, a recent intern lawyer. Having long admired Shi Keke, Wei Shenshen dedicated herself to her legal studies and pursued a career in law upon graduation. She maneuvered through various connections to secure a position at this law firm, primarily aiming to be closer to Shi Keke. However, her limited practical experience resulted in her being largely overlooked.

The legal field is inherently demanding, where even a small misstep can lead to being sidelined by more seasoned professionals, thus diminishing one's visibility.

Despite her comprehensive legal knowledge, Wei Shenshen sorely lacked real-world experience. Consequently, her role was often relegated to the background, serving mainly as an assistant, and she was unable to make court appearances.

Shi Keke's attention was first drawn to Wei Shenshen during a particularly heavy downpour. While driving through an intersection, Shi Keke witnessed a car accident unfolding ahead.

A Porsche had struck a young mother and her daughter, causing them to fall to the ground. Both sustained injuries, with scrapes on their knees and blood trickling from a wound on the mother's forehead.

The pedestrian signal had been green, indicating that the Porsche had run a red light, thereby causing the collision.

Regardless of the specific fault, the customary action for a driver in such circumstances is to check on the injured parties. Yet, the Porsche remained stationary, with no sign of the driver exiting.

The young girl, having fallen, suddenly began to cry out inconsolably, repeatedly exclaiming, "It hurts..."

The little girl's cries caused her mother considerable distress, fearing a more serious injury. Clutching her daughter, she approached the driver of the Porsche, hoping they could arrange for transportation to a hospital.

Their plea was met with refusal. The driver even issued a stern warning, threatening to demand compensation if any damage was found on the vehicle.

Left without recourse, the mother and daughter were forced to wait helplessly for the authorities to arrive and manage the situation.

Due to the intensity of the rain, the traffic police were significantly delayed. This exacerbated the already chaotic scene, leading to considerable traffic congestion. It was at this critical juncture that Wei Shenshen made her appearance.

Having apparently witnessed the incident firsthand and grasped the unfolding events, she approached the female driver. Employing her legal expertise with every word, Wei Shenshen successfully convinced the driver that her actions could potentially constitute a criminal offense. This prompted the driver to promptly transport the mother and daughter to the hospital.

Shi Keke's car was parked nearby the accident scene. Upon overhearing Wei Shenshen's articulate arguments, Shi Keke took notice of her. The following day, she discovered that Wei Shenshen was an intern at the same law firm.

From that point onward, Shi Keke began to observe Wei Shenshen more closely. She recognized a person with considerable potential, noting how Wei Shenshen frequently utilized her professional knowledge to navigate and resolve challenges.

Consequently, Shi Keke decided to take Wei Shenshen on as her apprentice, marking the first apprentice she had accepted throughout her extensive legal career.

"Come in," Shi Keke responded, setting aside the documents she held and taking a sip from her coffee.

Wei Shenshen pushed the door open and presented a bottle of milk to Shi Keke, placing it on the desk. She then leaned against the desk, a playful grin spreading across her face. "Master, when did you start dating? Bringing milk, how thoughtful."
