Caroline's investigation concludes, and the restrictions are lifted. She returns home and rewards her brother Robert for his help, appointing him as her confidant and instructing him to recruit loyal family members. Meanwhile, Caroline contacts Maiyous, who is furious, believing Caroline's betrayal led to his downfall at Bai Xiaosheng's hands. Caroline denies this, blaming Bernice, and attempts to mend fences, but Maiyous remains distrustful. After the call, Caroline suspects Bernice was the mole. Maiyous, however, calls Bai Xiaosheng, revealing their alliance and sharing Caroline's information. Bai Xiaosheng explains to Lin Weiwei that their plan was to weaken Caroline, make Robert her confidant for intel, and that his true target is Vice Chairman Morgan.
