[Deep In The Void — The Shadows Gather]

[One Year Later.]

For centuries, the dark sanctuary suspended in the absolute, lightless expanse of the void had remained in grim silence. The air within this forgotten dimensional pocket was thick with ancient malice, heavy enough to crush a mortal’s lungs. At the center of the vast, obsidian chamber stood a massive altar, surrounded by the highest echelons of the multiverse.

"Finally."

Morrigan slowly raised one finger into the air, her dark, imposing aura rippling through the cold space as the legendary blood cup appeared before her. It hovered in the air, a grotesque artifact forged from the bones of dead gods and etched with forbidden runes meant to bridge the gap between life and oblivion.

She turned her golden gaze to the Cup, her eyes narrowing as she was genuinely stunned. The artifact, which was supposed to be overflowing with the harvested life force of entire worlds, was severely compromised.

"What is this? Why is the Cup halved?" She asked, her voice dropping to a terrifying, echoing whisper, sending chills into the spines of all the dark figures kneeling behind her.

They all opened their eyes, staring at the Cup in absolute disbelief, and turned their heads to the Saint of Blood, the architect responsible for the grand harvest.

"What happened? Why isn’t the cup filled?!" Saint Kinawa Uchina asked coldly, his hand resting on the hilt of his weapon as he glared at his peer.

"This?"

The Saint of Blood closed his eyes, nervously spreading his spiritual energy towards the cup to verify the disaster. He felt the jagged, conceptual fracture on the artifact’s surface, and the Next Moment, his eyes snapped opened in pure dread.

"The new realm ruler destroyed the organization I created, and also cracked the cup." He said in shock, his voice trembling slightly.

Beneath his composed exterior, cold sweat dripped down his back. ’Fuck! I can’t tell the Matriarch the one who cracked the cup was the new realm ruler’s Subordinates... It will simply reveal how weak my slaves are.’ He thought, desperately omitting the humiliating truth to save his own life from Morrigan’s wrath.

"This new realm ruler, is it Ruler Sunny?" The Saint of Space asked, and the Saint of Blood nodded his head grimly, acknowledging the golden tyrant who had recently seized control of three realms.

"He kept interrupting our plans." Morrigan said, her golden eyes shifting from the flawed cup to the massive, rune-covered ten coffins standing vertically before them.

"We are already in a critical stage. The blood cup must be filled to resurrect the Devil Ruler... Do you all agree?" She asked, her tone leaving absolutely zero room for dissent. To fail now, after centuries of preparation, was not an option.

The Nine main saints nodded their heads in immediate agreement.

"Good."

Morrigan snapped her fingers, and instantly, a devastating red energy wave burst out from her, passing harmlessly through the Nine Saints, and smashing violently into the remaining lesser members gathered in the back of the chamber.

"This?" Xanax was stunned, turning his head around in sheer panic, watching helplessly as the 30 beings all shattered into mist and blood, their screams instantly silenced as their life force flew towards the cup, violently entering it.

Before their eyes, the cracked artifact instantly got filled up, hungrily absorbing the pure, refined bloods of the heavens and Transcendent immortals. The sheer density of the sacrifice patched the flaw, radiating a sickening, crimson light.

Morrigan then moved her finger, pointing it at the colossal, main coffin resting at the very center. It flew towards it, and then bend, as the thick, heavy blood of millions of souls dropped heavily on it, soaking into the ancient wood.

BOOOOM!

The grand coffin vibrated with a terrifying, rhythmic heartbeat, rapidly absorbing the blood into its sealed depths.

Morrigan raised her hand, her expression completely detached as she cut her palm with her sharp claw, then smashed her blood-soaked palm onto the cold ground before her.

The nine elite saints behind her followed her action without hesitation, drawing their own bloods, and smashed their palms on the ground, channeling their life essence into the floor, activating the ancient forbidden formation carved into the stone.

"With our blood, we resurrect the Devil Ruler!!" Morrigan yelled, her voice echoing with fanatical devotion as dark, red energy burst out from her body, flying directly into the central coffin.

"With our blood, we resurrect the Devil Ruler!!!"

The nine behind her yelled in unison, as blinding red lights shot out from their bodies, merging with the coffin and fueling the entity sleeping within.

BOOOOM!!

The main coffin vibrated even more violently, as thick, suffocating waves of dark ancient Primordial energy spread out from it, violently affecting the other nine coffins standing in the shadows behind it.

Morrigan and the nine stared at the vibrating coffins, their eyes wide with dark ecstasy, and yelled:

"We welcome the Nine ancient guardians!!! We welcome the Nine ancient guardians!!!"

BOOOOM!!!

The heavy stone lids of the nine coffins all shot forward simultaneously with explosive force, smashing deeply into the reinforced walls at the other side of the chamber.

"...?!"

The ten raised their heads, staring intently into the dark depths of the Coffins as the dust settled.

A beautiful lady walked out from the first coffin. Her crimson eyes were fixed coldly on the kneeling saints and the Matriarch. She possessed an ethereal, dangerous grace. She moved a slender finger on her long red hair, staring down at them with a slight, aristocratic frown:

"So this body you gave me belongs to an Elf known as Matilda... At least it’s not a useless body." She said, inspecting her newly vessel, and added:

"I will keep the name."

"As you desire first Ancient guardian." Morrigan said, her head bowed in absolute submission to the resurrected legend.

Heavy, thudding footsteps echoed as a massive, humanoid creature walked out from the second coffin. Two huge, jagged horns were rooted in its head, its tough, dark red skin glowing ominously in the dim room; this was Gerrard, the Wendigos’ King, a nightmare of physical devastation returned to the mortal plane.

"We welcome the second guardian." The ten said in perfect unison, not rising their heads from the floor.

Two more beautiful ladies walked out of the shadows, both radiating an aura of seductive, bloodthirsty malice. Both have two leathery bat wings stretching behind them, a sharp, barbed tail, and two curved horns protruding from their heads; these two are Madeleine, Lilith’s ruthless daughter, and the legendary Blood Queen, finally manifested in her true, terrifying self.

"Greetings to the third and fourth ancient guardians." Morrigan and the nine yelled.

’We discovered the Blood Queen’s soul is a Worthy host, so we removed her from Matilda, and used them separately... It seems that was a good idea.’ Morrigan thought to herself, pleased that her twisted experiments with the captive souls had yielded such flawless, powerful vessels.

The ritual room grew completely silent as they watched the remaining titans step into the light. The fifth guardian: Subishi, a master of unparalleled dark arts. The sixth guardian: Dracula, the progenitor of the night. The seventh: Calamity Bull King, whose very breath carried the weight of collapsing mountains. The eighth: Chain Demon, dragging rusted, conceptual binds that could lock souls. And finally, the ninth: the Corpse monarch, surrounded by an aura of absolute death, walked out from their coffins.

"We welcome the five ancient guardians!! Welcome nine Guardians!!" The ten yelled in unison, their voices echoing through the void, heralding the beginning of the universe’s darkest era.
