Chapter 473: The End Of Chaos [PART 1]

Positioned high above a vast multiverse teeming with infinite worlds, Li Yao materialized.

The Empress remained suspended in the air at her side.

Releasing a heavy breath, Li Yao asked, “How much time has passed?”

[Two weeks,] the Empress replied with a steady voice.

Li Yao pressed her hand against her forehead, feeling as though her very identity was beginning to slip away.

Her thoughts drifted to the fate of her senior brother.

His physical form remained intact and even appeared to be gaining strength, yet he refused to awaken. She had even resorted to her final tactic—binding him physically. Despite his deep-seated hatred for being tied up, he remained unresponsive to her actions.

Her physical image started to shimmer and fade.

She questioned whether this state of limbo would persist indefinitely.

Her breathing grew labored and heavy. If this continued any longer, she feared for her own stability. Usually, she could find emotional release through her senior brother, but in his absence… the fundamental concepts of the surrounding space began to tremble.

[Hey, are you alright?] the Empress inquired.

Li Yao offered no reply, seemingly lost in a deep trance.

The very plane of existence started to vibrate under the pressure.

[Compose yourself, or you will annihilate everything,] the Empress warned, resting a hand upon Li Yao’s shoulder.

Li Yao suddenly seemed to snap back to reality.

She let out a long sigh. Her Cultivation had progressed immensely over the past fourteen days. Following the prior guidance of her senior brother, she had been exercising her authority as the Heavenly Dao avatar to seize control of the surrounding reality.

After subjugating thousands of multiverses in this manner, she felt her comprehension of the Heavenly Way finally ascend to the Dao realm.

Now, she sought to apply that same dominance to the higher planes of existence.

She was currently traversing the dream world. Despite scouring every corner of this plane, she had found no sign of her senior brother’s presence.

Did this imply he wasn't dreaming at all, but was actually conscious?

If so, what force was keeping him imprisoned within his own body?

“Argh,” she muttered, shaking her head in frustration. Extending her arms, she unleashed her Heavenly Dao authority, which surged outward to rapidly envelop the entire dream plane and everything residing within it.

“Moving on,” she commanded, and the pair vanished instantly.

Another fortnight passed, leaving Li Yao and the Empress drifting in the endless void.

The Empress cast a worried look toward Li Yao. Her companion’s condition had deteriorated further; she looked like a powder keg on the verge of a catastrophic explosion.

Just as that thought crossed her mind, Li Yao’s aura erupted with sudden violence. The shockwaves caused every plane of existence to shudder, obliterated thousands of multiverses, and triggered the collapse of several reality planes.

“What is the solution?” Li Yao demanded.

The Empress started to speak, but was cut off before she could utter a word.

“Do not dare tell me to stay calm!” Li Yao screamed.

The Empress went silent, choosing to hold her tongue.

“I have seized every plane of existence and become the total embodiment of the Heavenly Dao. Yet, despite this power, I am still unable to find a way to save my husband,” she lamented.

Tears of blood began to track down her face. “Is the only option left to destroy everything?” she questioned.

The Empress maintained her silence. She feared saying anything that might serve as a trigger. Having traveled together for the last month, she realized that Li Yao was exhausted by hollow words of comfort.

“Perhaps that is exactly what I should do,” Li Yao said, her voice dissolving into a chilling laugh.

The Empress sighed softly but remained quiet.

“We made a vow to always find one another. If we both perish, perhaps we can reunite in death. Yes, that is the answer I have been searching for.” Her aura flared with even greater intensity, causing the stability of further planes to crumble.

“I am certain senior brother would have made the same choice,” she declared, pushing her power to the limit.

|| Stop! || a voice pierced through her laughter.

The World Tree watched Li Yao with a sense of dread. She had never anticipated that the Heavenly Dao would truly be absorbed by its own avatar. Looking at the woman before her, she was shocked that in such a short time, Li Yao was already prepared to wipe out all of existence. She wondered if this volatility was the reason the Heavenly Dao usually remained a cold, emotionless entity.

It appeared that the creation of an avatar had been a grave error.

“Who are you?” Li Yao asked, turning her gaze toward the newcomer.

The World Tree felt a freezing shiver run down her spine the moment their eyes met.

“Ah, I recognize you now,” Li Yao said, beginning a slow, predatory walk toward the World Tree.

The World Tree stood paralyzed, her body refusing to move. “This is the end for me,” she thought.

Though she existed at the Creator Realm, she was not a combatant. If the World Tree fell, the entire Chaos would fall into ruin. She desperately needed to flee, yet she remained rooted to the spot.

“You are that woman who once held my senior brother, aren't you?” Li Yao remarked.

The World Tree wasn't processing the words; she was frantically searching her mind for an escape route.

“Back then… I fought with everything I had, but I still couldn't save him. Do you have any concept of how that felt? To be completely powerless while my husband faced such peril…”

By now, she stood directly in front of the World Tree. She reached out and grasped the other’s face. “Why am I wasting my breath? A creature like you could never comprehend it anyway,” Li Yao whispered as she began to erase the World Tree from reality.

In a mere heartbeat, the World Tree ceased to exist.

Li Yao stood motionless. She felt no sense of peace, no triumph, nothing at all. Her situation remained unchanged from before. Her husband was still in danger, and she felt just as helpless. Her gaze grew dark and cold.

|| Please, regain your senses || a voice called out from behind, prompting her to turn and face the human Empress.

The Empress held up her hands in a peaceful gesture. [Calm yourself, it is me,] she said, trying to soothe her.

The Empress looked at her own form, feeling the surge of limitless power coursing through her.

“So, she chose to bestow her fragment upon you to sustain the Chaos,” Li Yao noted with a hollow tone. “It is a futile gesture, as I intend to dismantle it regardless,” she said, beginning to turn away.

Before she could move, the Empress caught her hand. “What? Do you intend to obstruct me as well?” Li Yao asked.

She fixed the Empress with a frigid, vacant stare. “Do not imagine you can halt my path simply because you possess a fragment of my husband,” Li Yao warned, staring straight into the Empress’s eyes.

“Perhaps I should simply eliminate you now… you will only perish anyway once I have unmade the Chaos,” Li Yao said, reaching her hand toward the Empress’s throat.
