Zhang Yi, anticipating a potential attack from the Mist Valley, instructs his people to fortify Tianshui City and accelerate the production of advanced weaponry and Barrier Stones. While everyone works diligently, a month passes with no sign of the impending threat, leaving Zhang Yi on edge. Meanwhile, deep beneath the mysterious Mist Valley on Star Island, a figure in black armor lets out a powerful roar.

Deep in the night.

Around the Mist Valley, warships from Colombia and the East China Sea Major Region were conducting their routine patrols.

On board the Colombian warship, the outdoor cold was bone-piercing, yet the indoor temperature was pleasantly comfortable.

This routine patrol had been ongoing for two years now. Aside from the previous Mist Valley riot, this area had been calm and peaceful for the most part.

Day after day of patrol duty had long since accustomed the sailors on these warships to their dull and monotonous lives.

So in the dead of night, they gathered together as usual, passing the time with rum and Texas Hold'em.

By the mid-21st century, warships had developed to a fairly advanced level, especially for Colombia, which possessed the world's strongest navy. Their warships not only boasted formidable combat power, but their interior environments were also exceptionally comfortable.

Compared to ordinary people surviving the apocalypse, life here was practically paradise.

The drunken shouts of cursing men, the loud cries of card game winners, and the sound of shattering glasses blended into a chaotic symphony.

But in the control room, the officer on duty and the helmsman dared not show the slightest negligence. They had to follow the established patrol route to inspect the fog-covered area.

This process could harbor certain dangers.

Among them was the possibility of collision with warships from the East China Sea Major Region.

The first officer sat in his chair, his cold, sharp gaze resembling that of a bald eagle. He instructed his crew:

"Stay sharp! Don't let your guard down for even a second. In this godforsaken place, you never know when something unexpected might happen."

"Lieutenant Colonel, sir, are you referring to that attack a while back?"

One of the officers asked.

What he referred to was the assault on the Mist Valley that Deng Shentong had orchestrated.

It was precisely because of that assault that both the Colombia Ocean Fleet and the East China Sea Major Region had dispatched massive military forces to surround the entire Star Island.

In the end, after their investigation, they discovered that it had not originated from Star Island itself, but was a covert attack by some unknown force.

The first officer pressed down on his cap brim and said coldly, "This world has already changed. Danger lurks everywhere. Even in the deep seas where we once dominated, there are existences we cannot afford to provoke."

"The current Colombian navy can only reign supreme in the fragmented coastal waters."

The crew members shrugged, utterly indifferent to such talk.

As long as they could continue living their easy and carefree lives, they couldn't care less about anything else.

But suddenly, a red light blazed to life on the massive display screen, and a piercing alarm blared out without warning.

"WARNING!"

The first officer's expression immediately tensed, and every trace of smile on everyone's faces vanished in an instant.

"What's going on?"

The first officer rushed over urgently.

That crew member stared at the screen and quickly zoomed in.

"Looks like we've detected an anomalous flying object. One moment, please!"

A short while later, the lens kept zooming in, and they saw a pitch-black dot slowly ascending into the sky above Star Island.

The lens zoomed in even further, but the interference of the fog made it impossible to make out what those things were.

The muscles on the first officer's face twitched. Without a moment's hesitation, he declared, "Dispatch drones immediately to investigate!"

Just then, a deafening roar suddenly erupted from outside.

"BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!!"

In the pitch-black night, a thunderclap split the sky like a sword slicing through the heavens, illuminating the darkness.

In that brief flash of light, from the bottomless abyss within the Mist Valley on Star Island, a group of figures shot out at breakneck speed.

The light of the lightning reflected off their metallic-looking armor, revealing their massive frames.

They were humanoid creatures, their entire bodies clad in thick armor, with thick, sturdy tails growing from their backs.

Leading the charge into the high sky were five humanoid creatures dressed in silver armor.

If Zhang Yi were here to see them, he would undoubtedly find them strikingly familiar, for their appearance bore an uncanny resemblance to the Gatekeepers of the Underworld he had encountered before.

After the silver-armored figures appeared, a group of creatures clad in black-and-white armor emerged behind them.

And following them, in strict hierarchical formation, flew out a dense swarm of similar creatures adorned in cyan armor.

They surged out from beneath the Mist Valley on Star Island, stood tall in the sky, and arranged themselves into orderly military formations.

Clearly, they were a powerful and highly disciplined army!

The warship immediately dispatched over a dozen drones, flying deep into the dense fog to get a clear look at their forms.

Within the military formation, one of the black-and-white armored creatures merely glanced over. He abruptly raised his right hand, and an invisible shockwave swept across, instantly smashing all those drones to pieces!

And this very scene had already been transmitted back to the warship through the drones.

The first officer was completely dumbstruck!

"What in the hell are those things?"

"Report to headquarters immediately!"

A Level One alarm blared across the warship. The main cannon slowly rose, aimed toward Star Island.

Among the five silver-armored figures, the one at the lead simply made a clean, crisp gesture with his hand. Instantly, a black-and-white armored commander led several dozen cyan-armored warriors streaking toward the warship.

The warship's main cannon had just finished rising, ready to intimidate those bizarre creatures.

But that black-and-white armored being, who appeared to be the unit commander, pulled out an extremely strange-looking weapon from his back and delivered a single slash through the air!

Silent and formless, when the distance between them was still five to six kilometers, the warship was sliced cleanly in half right down the middle!

This super warship, which Colombia had spent over a billion to build, was as fragile as tofu in the face of that black-and-white armored being.

By now, utter chaos had erupted on the ship. The Transcendents donned their combat suits, using the flight devices integrated into the suits to rapidly evacuate the sinking vessel, all the while attempting to counterattack those bizarre creatures.

But those several dozen cyan-armored warriors charged in like a swarm of locusts, slaughtering them with lightning speed as if they were crushing worms!

On the warship, the captain, the most powerful individual aboard with an ability index of 9,300 points, had been hoisting a massive cross to protect his vessel.

Yet a single cyan-armored warrior simply rushed toward him, darting past him in a flash.

"SHLUCK!!"

The captain's chest was torn wide open. Large chunks of flesh and organs were ripped away in an instant, leaving only a thin strip of flesh barely connecting his body.

"KAH!"

A torrent of blood erupted from his mouth, and the light in his eyes faded rapidly.

He had imagined that, as captain, he would fight like a lone hero, battling the enemy to the bitter end to defend his ship.

But never did he expect that even the most unremarkable-looking cyan-armored warrior could kill him in a single strike!

And this scene wasn't just unfolding on their ship alone.

Around Star Island, Colombia and the East China Sea Major Region had at least five warships conducting routine patrols.

And at that very same moment, they were all encountering the exact same situation.
