I Only Wanted A Class In The Apocalypse Chapter 1983: No One Survived!
Previously on I Only Wanted A Class In The Apocalypse...
Hye’s soulers and reapers underwent a significant transformation, evolving to become far deadlier than they were previously.
In the past, vanquishing a tougher foe required numerous assaults to drain their soul force. However, their evolved state allowed for a single attack, their new, ethereal forms lingering on adversaries, eventually leading to their demise without the need for repeated strikes.
Within minutes, a vast number of enemies succumbed. The entire frontline buckled and broke. Subsequently, more foes surged forward, only to be annihilated without exception.
The more formidable the opponent, the longer it took for their soulers and reapers to dispatch them. Yet, ultimately, all were slain. The enemies, meanwhile, were rendered utterly incapable of fighting back, immobilized until they fell lifeless before the relentless assault.
It was then that Hye unleashed his own attack.
Wielding the same blade he had previously attempted to use, the one that had erupted in dark fire, Hye executed a series of rapid, successive swings. Torrents of lethal strikes rained down upon the densest concentrations of his adversaries.
He did not falter for a single second. All the while, his soulers and reapers continued their work, eliminating all opposition in their vicinity. Furthermore, the ships positioned behind them persistently bombarded distant enemy forces.
In a stunning opening gambit, the entire tide of the battle was reversed. What the enemies had anticipated as a brutal slaughter for Moth and Hye, and for the Hescos and their human allies from the main universe, transformed into a lopsided massacre.
The opposing forces never stood a genuine chance from the outset. They attempted to retaliate, unleashing a barrage of attacks upon the spectral entities assailing them.
But the soulers and reapers proved simply unstoppable!
No measure proved effective against them. Not a single assault managed to impede their progress or diminish their attack speed. Even when they directed their attacks towards their own comrades ensnared by the encroaching dark fog, they failed to inflict any harm whatsoever upon a single souler or reaper.
Then, at a certain juncture, Hye grew weary of his swordplay and opted to employ his unique technique.
First, a colossal black orb materialized. Subsequently, numerous shadowy appendages emerged. By the time the enemy grasped the gravity of the situation, legions of these shadowy arms were already sweeping across the entire battlefield, converting every foe they touched into allies for Hye's cause.
Hye did not slow his efforts, extracting a substantial quantity of bones. He absorbed their power, channeling it directly into his technique. The shadowy arms grew more robust, their movements swifter, and their control over their targets became instantaneous.
Curiously, the resistance he typically encountered and battled against when facing stronger adversaries was absent. Instead, his technique flowed with the ease of a shark navigating its element, facing minuscule fish utterly incapable of resistance or defense.
Witnessing this spectacle, the Hescos and Hye’s forces within the wing erupted in cheers of victory. They then began to ascend the ramparts, joining the fray themselves.
It was abundantly clear where the battle was inevitably heading. The enemy had gravely underestimated Hye, a human who had etched his name in legends within the main universe.
Their underestimation constituted the most catastrophic error they had ever committed since arriving in the Outer Battlefield world.
And Hye harbored no intention of allowing a single enemy combatant to escape.
"That is sufficient," he declared after an hour of relentless carnage, abruptly halting his assault. He retrieved a flare gun from his inventory, aimed it skyward, and discharged a crimson projectile, proclaiming, "It is time to tighten the net."
The instant his flare ascended, a wave of his warriors materialized from the distant horizon, completely encircling the enemy forces from their rear.
This contingent belonged to Lucas. Once Hye discerned the trap and the impending conflict, he had dispatched Lucas accompanied by millions of tokens.
He issued precise instructions: upon the commencement of hostilities, Lucas was to find a means to infiltrate the enemy's rear. There, he would silently and stealthily deploy the soulers and reapers, awaiting the designated signal.
With the crimson flare streaking across the sky, the situation deteriorated from unfavorable to dire for the enemy. Their escape routes were now blocked by the very spectral entities they had been struggling to combat. Moreover, their numbers were not so insignificant that they could not still attempt to break through or exploit gaps in the encircling lines to flee.
Then, Olana made her appearance.
She too had been dispatched by Hye, carrying a multitude of warrior tokens and numerous ships. Once the signal flared high above, she initiated her movement. Exploiting the diversion created by the soulers and reapers under Lucas's command, she swiftly deployed a formidable fleet that became fully operational within mere minutes.
The situation devolved from dire to one of utter desperation. The enemy found themselves with no viable avenues of escape, the inevitable outcome being their complete annihilation and defeat.
The significant loss stemmed from Shemos summoning all his allied forces, bringing forth elite warriors from various other races. This immense strike would not only cripple the traitorous faction within the Hescos but would also heavily impact other competing and rival races across the entire Outer Battlefield.
Even though the most formidable forces of each race were engaged in combat much deeper within this world, the individuals perishing here were precisely those tasked with safeguarding numerous racial bases.
Their demise here meant one inescapable outcome: their bases would be left utterly undefended and susceptible to attack. Should the Hescos, under Moth's command, wish to seize these bases, they could achieve this with alarming ease.
And Hye, especially in his dire need to secure a base for himself in this new world, would certainly not let such an opportunity pass him by.
The fierce conflict raged throughout the entire night, preceding another full day and night. Only by the early dawn hours did the last of the enemies fall.
Not a single soul escaped the slaughter.
"This... This was absolutely brilliant!" Moth, utterly astonished, praised the deadly efficiency demonstrated by Hye's warriors.
