I Only Wanted A Class In The Apocalypse Chapter 1982: The Battle Starts

Hye observed Moth’s actions but chose not to replicate them. He deemed it unnecessary to deploy the massive flagships for the defensive task, instead positioning them far behind as the primary offensive force.
The infiltration of enemy lines was entrusted to his Soulers and Reapers.
Both factions marshalled their forces according to their distinct capabilities and resources, with the advantage initially appearing to favor the humans.
Suddenly, the enemy appeared!
The vanguard was a ball of fire, launched from a great distance as if from a colossal cannon firing skyward.
Reaching a high altitude, the fiery orb halted, resembling a miniature star illuminating a vast expanse.
A second and third projectile followed, then a multitude more, transforming the night into a brilliant midday.
"They intend to engage in open combat," Moth remarked from his vantage point atop the low ramparts beside Hye. "It appears they were well-prepared. Our technology and weaponry are at a disadvantage in this world, so it's natural for its inhabitants to possess superior methods for countering our defenses..."
"That hardly matters," Hye responded with a simple shrug, his gaze fixed on the imposing ships he had stationed. "As long as we maintain our position, the outcome of this battle remains unchanged... Victory is ours."
Hye's conviction wasn't born of arrogance. He had meticulously orchestrated his forces according to a pre-conceived strategy. Moreover, he was certain that nothing could stand against his elite warriors, the Soulers and Reapers.
The inherent nature of his technique, already extraordinary in its original universe, meant it held a unique significance here as well.
Nevertheless, Hye found himself taken aback by the sheer scale and number of adversaries advancing towards them.
"They've even brought out the Toranks," Moth exclaimed in surprise, noting the numerous giants amidst the approaching army. "I anticipated they'd reserve the Toranks to intercept any reinforcements from our distant forces, not to deploy them in the initial engagement."
"This signifies their intent to conclude the battle swiftly," Hye stated, shaking his head. He then turned to Moth, adding, "I will take the lead. You are responsible for the defenses here. Ensure not a single enemy breaches our perimeter."
"Will you be taking your ships?" Moth began to inquire further but then observed Hye's actions. "Never mind... Those formidable units should be more than sufficient to halt their advance and ensure your safety. Still... do not place undue reliance on their past strengths. In this world, we are all diminished compared to our former power..."
Moth felt as though he were speaking to himself as Hye dashed forward, accelerating with incredible speed. Hye registered the warning but paid it no attention.
Even if he sensed a slight decrease in his usual power, he knew his Soulers and Reapers were exceptional beings by nature. Not to mention, they were already cultivating, just like all his warriors.
Hye was not under any illusions. He acknowledged his warriors' limitations when compared to combatants from the other universe. However, assessing them against those who originated from his own universe, he believed they were not far off in capability.
Hye moved swiftly and acted even faster. He summoned a vast number of Soulers and Reapers, populating the surrounding landscape with millions of them. In an instant, the previously empty expanse around the wing was densely filled with his elite warriors, and he continued this deployment until the two sides collided.
During the advance, the ships hovering above the wing's ramparts unleashed their fire. Their projectiles streaked across the distance separating the armies, impacting various points among the advancing enemies. Yet, numerous flares erupted, manifesting as specialized shields that absorbed the brunt of the attacks, leaving no trace.
Out of tens of thousands of fired rounds, merely a few hundred detonated. Their explosions lacked the expected ferocity. Each shot detonated within a radius of several meters, eliminating any individual within that zone. However, considering these were heavy cannons capable of breaching the hulls of massive starships, these attacks were perceived as a dismal failure.
Yet, to Hye, they proved remarkably effective.
Each projectile left behind an empty void, an area cleared of any enemy presence. Furthermore, the lingering bombardment prevented any attempt to traverse these gaps, disrupting the enemy's momentum and even sowing considerable chaos.
And chaos was precisely what Hye relished the most.
Battles in the universe were typically characterized by the utilization of advanced weaponry and technology. However, all the adversaries Hye observed approaching him were armed with cold weapons.
Swords, glaives, knives, daggers, and a plethora of other archaic armaments were prevalent on the Outer Battlefield. As he closed in with his warriors, the enemies began to imbue their weapons with various elemental energies.
Fire, lightning, ice, earth, wind, and other elements were unleashed. Hye watched as his enemies prepared to attack with their full might. Then, his warriors moved.
Previously, Hye's soulers and reapers were known to move with ethereal speed, phasing through enemy bodies and draining their soul force until death. However, a novel phenomenon, unseen by Hye before, began to occur. The soulers started to spontaneously combust, not with weapons, but their very beings engulfed in fierce, deadly black flames. Then, they teleported. This time, instead of becoming ethereal, they transformed into fog-like entities, leaving behind trails of black mist. Rather than passing through foes, they enveloped them, smothering and suffocating their enemies to death. This drastic shift in their combat style initially startled Hye. Following the surprise, however, unrestrained laughter erupted from him.
