I'm the King Of Technology Chapter 1977 Finale - 2

Previously on I'm the King Of Technology...
A year has passed since the pivotal War, ushering in dramatic changes across the world. Prince Julian finds joy in the advances of Tesseract technology, immersing himself in thrilling virtual reality gaming while navigating familial chaos. Meanwhile, the emergence of international airline travel has transformed connectivity, allowing people to traverse borders effortlessly. As the world embraces the technological revolution, new leaders like Queen Tilda of Dafaren and Fredrik of the Laboon Empire rise, while Baymard opens its doors to global students. The narrative peeks into a future where humanity has ventured into the galactic era, welcoming extraordinary new species and reshaping their world.

The state of humanity had undergone a radical transformation from its ancestral roots.

In this era, Hertfilia developed a genetic mutation potion that extended the human lifespan to 200 years. Consequently, a fifty-year-old individual now possesses the youthful vigor of a twenty-five-year-old. Furthermore, people began awakening innate gene abilities categorized from E-rank to A-rank, with the elite reaching S-class. These enhancements in strength, agility, and speed were vital in defending against various alien aggressors. Five years later, the Human Alliance emerged, securing humanity's official recognition in the Galactic records by alien races who previously viewed them as mere livestock, playthings, or slaves. Humans now govern a territory of 170 planets, ranging from habitable worlds to resource-rich barren rocks. Criminals like Whitebeard, who obstinately refused to reform, were exiled to a designated Prison Planet. On this world, they could engage in lethal conflict as they pleased, though a planetary force field ensured no one could escape. Essentially, it was a primitive and brutal environment, far worse than Hertfilia was upon Landon’s initial arrival. Unfortunately, space piracy still tempted some; these outlaws eventually liberated RedBeard and several others. These individuals became ruthless space pirates, and though most were hunted down eleven years later, a few remnants persisted. It seems pirates are a permanent plague, whether they roam the high seas or the stars.

Conversely, those who chose the path of reform were subjected to fifty years of surveillance within society before being granted total freedom.

Fast forward 165 years, and Hertfilia, along with the other human colonies, had evolved beyond recognition. The gene formula had been further refined; infants now received injections at birth that guaranteed a minimum lifespan of 300 years, with some reaching up to 509 years. This longevity was a privilege of the new generation, however, as the older population generally lived between 200 and 250 years. Figures like William, Penelope, Overseer Tim, Lucius, and others who had witnessed the world's primitive beginnings now gazed upon the cosmic horizon with misty eyes and nostalgic smiles. In their center sat Landon, confined to a wheelchair due to severe injuries sustained in the final war. Despite being nearly 190 years old, everyone maintained the appearance of a fifty-year-old. Having seen numerous generations of their descendants, they felt a sense of completion. Lucy sat by her husband's side, tenderly holding his hand. "We did it Brother Landon… we… eh?... BROTHER LANDON!!!!"

The peace was shattered by Lucy’s piercing cry, causing everyone to rush forward, only to freeze in shock at Landon’s condition. Meanwhile, Landon opened his eyes to find himself drifting in a calm, bluish-black void.

He was suspended in the air, his toe barely grazing the surface of the void, which rippled like dark liquid.

Looking upward, Landon spotted a massive pink sphere, roughly the size of a floating villa.

Landon gave a soft chuckle. "System, it's you, isn't it?"

[Host, you're not so dumb after all.]

Landon glanced away, his expression tinged with a hint of sorrow. "So, am I dead?"

-silence-

The lack of an immediate response sent Landon’s pulse racing. [Relax host. You might be dead or you might not. That depends on our conversation now…. but first…]

The system began to rotate violently, and familiar objects started manifesting from thin air. [Congratulations host, for completing the System's TRIAL Simulation. Now, you may begin your first true task!]

Heh-heh-heh

Watching the celebratory items rain down around him, Landon erupted into a fit of laughter that made his stomach ache. "TRIAL simulation?" [Yes, host, TRIAL.]

"... Heh-heh-heh… Enough jokes, system, and just spit it out."

[Well, host. It seems you know me quite well by now.] With those words, the sphere ceased its spinning and transformed into a charming pink Loli girl.

Aha! He knew it! The system was a cheeky little girl all along. It was mind-boggling to think this child had caused him so many headaches over the years. [Yes, host,] she answered while snacking on a lollipop. Landon wondered who had created her; he desperately wanted just one minute alone with that person. [Dummy, what are you thinking about? Didn't you hear me? I said, host, you've successfully completed your first mission. The Gods thank you for your service. You have an A-score on the board for your achievements. So you get one wish… and only one wish alone.] The system paused. [Know that this is the only time the Gods will grant you any wish. In the future worlds, even if you do well, you won't get the option of having a wish.]

[Of course, if you accept a wish from the Gods, then the next world you visit will be far more primitive than Hertfilia… likely a Caveman era. Furthermore, it means your journey will span more worlds than originally planned.]

[So host, do you choose to have a wish granted and regress to cruder worlds, or forgo the wish and proceed to slightly more advanced worlds for development?]

...

To wish or not to wish? In his heart, Landon’s choice was already made. He didn't care if he was sent to a world more barbaric than Hertfilia. [So host, what's it going to be?]

Landon looked up, a gentle smile gracing his face. Having known him for so long, the system already sensed his decision. "I choose to have my wish granted." Landon paused…

"In every world I travel to, I want my wife reincarnated by my side." [Host, be aware that she will have no memory of you in any world you visit, should you choose this.]

Landon squeezed his fists tightly, "I know." It didn't matter. He would win her heart over and over again, regardless of the circumstances. He believed that even without the Gods' intervention, he would find her soul. A genuine smile appeared on the system’s face, seemingly moved by her host’s devotion. While others might wish for absolute power, her host was different. [As you wish, host. No matter what world you go to, you will find her there. That's it…]

The system reverted to its spherical form and ascended higher into the dark expanse.

[In 10 years, I will return for you, host. Enjoy your vacation with your loved ones.]

Landon was stunned. He hadn't expected the system to grant him a reprieve instead of forcing him into the next mission immediately. Looking at the pink ball, he decided she wasn't so heartless after all. Drowsiness washed over him, and when he next opened his eyes, he was surrounded by over a hundred tearful, smiling faces. His parents, friends, children, grandchildren, and his dear Lucy were all there. Even the doctors were weeping with joy. At that moment, Landon felt truly favored by fate. "Welcome back to us, Your Majesty Landon Barn."~~~~~~~~~~END~~~~~~~~~
