Jie Ming gathers the research results on World Nesting Technology from various wizards, who had been granted knowledge and access to the Central World in exchange for their findings. Clark and Kastilla made significant contributions, while Wizard Fate identified the precise time and location for passage. With preparations complete, Wizard Fate opens a spatial fissure to the Central World, revealing a faint but compelling pull that draws the wizards in.

The instant they crossed the spatial passage, Jie Ming felt as though he had crashed into a void that no ordinary concept of space could describe.

He had barely found his footing when boundless pressure came crashing down from every direction.

The sensation was so heavy it was almost suffocating.

Every inch of space seemed compressed to its limit; space that had been formless seemed to have congealed into an indestructible solid, frantically squeezing everything around it.

The protective spell he had prepared in advance unfolded at the same moment.

A transparent membrane of energy enveloped the whole of his puppet, and as the spatial pressure kept contracting inward, fine ripples immediately spread across the membrane’s surface.

Jie Ming narrowed his eyes. “No wonder almost no one has ever made it in here.”

Even an eighth-level life form would probably suffer unbearable compression the instant it came in.

And this was only the outer edge.

Jie Ming raised his head, his gaze stretching into the distance.

It could not even be called pitch-black here.

Pitch-black at least implied there was still a color, whereas the world before him was utter void, without a single reference point that could be used to judge distance or direction.

The only thing by which one could fix one’s bearings was a white point of light hanging quietly far, far away.

In this boundless void, that soft white point was like the only lighthouse lit on a dark ocean, carrying an indescribable attraction.

The very moment Jie Ming noticed it, he felt an instinctive attraction rising from deep within his heart!

His legs took a step forward almost without having received any command.

Jie Ming’s face changed instantly.

In that one instant just now, the protective reserve of his Mysterious Astral Mortal Dust Barrier had been drained dry in a flash!

That force had passed straight through his mental defenses, traveled all the way up the mental link between him and his puppet, and finally acted directly on his soul.

Boom!

His spiritual sea shook violently.

Almost driven by instinct, Jie Ming called up the Five Aggregates Rainbow Mirror.

Soft five-colored radiance rose from the depths of his spiritual sea and spread out swiftly, sealing off that eerie pull layer upon layer.

Feeling his body finally back under his control, Jie Ming broke out in a cold sweat down his back.

In recent years he had not slackened at all in raising the protection of his Mysterious Astral Mortal Dust Barrier.

Yet this had punched straight through his entire protective reserve and drained dry all the Incense Fire Poison and liquid Essence Gold he had accumulated over so long… that alone was enough to show how serious the problem was.

More crucially, what he was using now was not even his true body.

Almost the only thing in genuine, direct contact with the outside was this wisp of mental imprint.

If even a mental imprint could be pulled this strongly…

Then what would happen once a true body entered this place?

“Damn! The others!”

He immediately widened his perception, only to find the situation was not quite what he had imagined.

Several seventh- and sixth-level wizards were indeed clearly not in a normal state.

Their eyes had lost all their light, their once lively mental energy had turned dull and rigid, and their bodies, drawn by some invisible force, were drifting step by step toward that white point of light.

But quite a few high-level wizards had still resisted the attraction.

The seventh-level Wizard Augusta noticed the anomaly at once and moved with Clark to intercept them.

However, once blocked, the several wizards who had already lost their senses suddenly flew into a rage, as if someone had forcibly cut off some extremely important instinct, and frantically drove their power at the two of them.

Terrifying attacks exploded in the void.

Fortunately, although these wizards’ power was still formidable, their attention and judgment had clearly declined; their lines of attack were simple and rigid, with none of the flexible variation they would normally have.

Clark and his senior brother soon had them pinned down.

“…Strange.” Watching this, Jie Ming thought silently to himself.

It was rather disrespectful to think so, but as he saw it, if the strength of the mental attraction were the same for everyone as what he had met, then Senior Uncle Augusta should not have been able to stay of sound mind.

One could even say that, apart from himself, perhaps only Mentor Clark and Wizard Fate in the whole team should have been able to withstand it.

But that was clearly not how things stood…

Jie Ming’s gaze then fell on a spot not far away.

Berta Vera Augusta was standing there.

She had not lost consciousness like those wizards, though her body was trembling slightly.

Her black eyes were fixed on the distant white light, and fine beads of sweat had already broken out on her forehead; she was clearly under immense mental pressure.

As a sixth-level wizard, she was the only one besides Jie Ming and Viola able to stay clear-headed under this eerie pull.

Berta Vera Augusta was plainly close to her limit, but she really had held on.

Even granting that combat wizards were indeed very good at dealing with this kind of special attack, by ordinary reasoning she should not have been able to withstand a mental attack of the strength Jie Ming had just met.

“So… the strength of this mental attraction isn’t fixed?”

Jie Ming quickly turned his attention to the other three special beings.

All three plane wizards had shrunk themselves of their own accord, their enormous bodies compressed to a size that made movement relatively easy.

Law Solidification Domains ran steadily around them. The attraction that could sway even a high-level wizard’s mental imprint fell on them, yet seemed to have little effect.

Or rather, it was not that there was no effect at all, but that the effect was simply too faint for them.

A plane wizard’s consciousness was inherently bound tightly to the body of its plane.

Mental stability was almost directly tied to the sheer mass of the plane itself.

“So it isn’t simply positively correlated with mass and strength…” Jie Ming rubbed his chin.

He then looked over at the wizards who had been affected.

Even subdued, they were still struggling desperately to get closer to that white point of light.

Low, meaningless roars kept coming from their mouths, as though something in there held a temptation they could not resist.

Jie Ming stared at that point of white light, his gaze gradually turning cold.

An unknown mental temptation combined with an irresistible pull… it looked far too much like some carefully designed trap.

Jie Ming and Viola exchanged a look.

In each other’s eyes, they had already found the same answer.

It was a trap!

The so-called Central World, or at least everything it showed on the surface, was very likely there to lure outsiders into approaching of their own accord, and then devour them.

The other high-level wizards who had kept their heads had evidently realized this too, and the atmosphere at once grew heavier still.

Wizard Fate, however, said nothing more.

He raised his hand, and an invisible force appeared out of thin air, wrapping up the several wizards who had been completely taken over by the mental temptation.

Their whole bodies were forcibly dragged backward, retreating steadily along the route they had come in by, until they vanished back into the spatial fissure.

The fissure closed swiftly after they left, sealing the runaway wizards completely outside.

“Let them go out first.” Wizard Fate withdrew his hand. “The mental temptation here is not something they can resist right now.”

With these mishaps dealt with, the team did not stop.

Wizard Fate walked at the very front.

Jie Ming followed behind him, bearing the steadily mounting spatial pressure while watching how his surroundings changed.

The closer they came to that white point of light, the more terrifying the spatial pressure became.

Very soon, though, Jie Ming sensed something different.

The pressure that had been bearing down evenly from all sides was changing.

That simple feeling of being squeezed was gradually weakening, and in its place came a directional pull that grew more and more distinct.

It was as if they were entering the gravitational range of some enormous presence.

Or rather… they were being “captured”.

Jie Ming glanced down at his own protective spell.

The energy membrane already bulged noticeably toward the front, but its structure was still stable, with no sign that it was about to collapse.

It followed that the real danger in this region was probably not just the spatial pressure.

Jie Ming raised his head and ran the True-False Void-Piercing Pupil at full power.

His line of sight pierced the ever more dazzling white light, trying to make out the inner structure of that mysterious plane.

But the result made him frown.

All his perception, the instant it touched the surface of the white light, was reflected straight back, wholly intact.

With no other option, Jie Ming could only follow Wizard Fate forward.

Wizard Fate walked at the very head of the team, and every step he took landed exactly on the most stable point in the spatial structure.

In this void where even direction was hard to judge, he seemed to know in advance where he could set his feet.

The Fate Law flowed endlessly in the depths of his pupils, and the surrounding spatial structure, complex almost beyond comprehension, seemed in his eyes to be gradually resolving into some calculable trajectory.

Suddenly he stopped. “We’re here.”

Jie Ming looked up without thinking, and was startled to find that the lone point of light that had been so far away had, at some point, become a gigantic wall of light that blotted out the sky.

White radiance stretched across the void, blocking out nearly his entire field of view.

And on the surface of that wall of light, Jie Ming finally saw something new.

Line after line of extremely fine patterns was slowly surfacing from deep within the white light.
