I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 952: Loose Ends, Spoils, and an Impending Arrival

Augusta also filled Jie Ming in on some of what had happened over these ten years.
Mostly it was about how she had led the legions in taking the Holy Spirit race’s plane cluster, and about the current situation in each region.
Which planes were already fully under control, where there were still remnants of Holy Spirit resistance, which regions had already begun a preliminary takeover: she had organized all of this information very clearly.
“That’s about it.”
Augusta raised a hand and passed Jie Ming a set of spatial coordinates and a map of the planes’ distribution. “What comes next will be rather tedious, so I’ll leave it to you. I need to go help my family with a few things first.”
Jie Ming put the information away. “Go ahead.”
“See you.”
Augusta did not linger, and soon left by spatial teleportation.
Only once her aura had completely disappeared did Jie Ming turn around and look at the plane cluster behind him.
By now, the Holy Spirit race’s plane cluster had completely lost its original order.
Great numbers of planes still hung there quietly, but more than half of the once-dense Holy Spirit mental waves had disappeared.
Still, that did not mean there was nothing troublesome.
The number of planes the Holy Spirit civilization controlled was truly frightening. Even with a portion of them already destroyed, there were still nearly ten thousand left.
Standing in the void and gazing out over the cluster, Jie Ming truly felt what “insufficient digestive capacity” meant.
If it were only a matter of destroying things or crushing the forces that stood against him, it wouldn’t be very hard.
His Dharma Form, together with the self-destructing legions of dragonblood mushroom-men and the ground advance of the Black Giants, could crush the resistance of any plane in a short time.
But to thoroughly clean out every single plane in the cluster, take stock of the resources, technology and biological samples inside one by one, pack them up, and then ship them back to the Infernal Sulfur Plane, was another matter entirely.
Over these years, the Black Giant legions, the dragonblood mushroom-man legions, the Tentacle Tree fleet… nearly all his usable forces had been drained.
Jie Ming had pushed the output of the Infernal Sulfur Plane’s incubation pools to the limit, and it still could not fill the gap.
“Forget it. For now, I’ll just keep things stable.”
After some thought, Jie Ming decided that once the business of the whole “world cluster” had settled, he would go back to the Noren Workshop and recruit graduate wizards from the various Noren Academies to help.
He had already cleared out the high-level combat power of the Holy Spirit planes anyway, and ordinary low-level wizards were more than capable of the remaining “work”.
He suddenly understood the wizards’ need for fresh blood.
Back when he was weak, he had thought of planes as quite precious things, and could not understand how the academies were always able to find planes to start wars on for every graduation trial.
Now he understood. It was a difference in perception that came from standing at a different height.
Even with enough military strength, digesting the entire Holy Spirit plane cluster would probably take close to a thousand years.
An ordinary sixth-level wizard might not reap spoils like his, but for a seventh-level wizard it would be no problem at all.
And in the Noren Workshop, there were more than four hundred seventh-level wizards, possibly even close to five hundred by now.
As long as one seventh-level wizard had slightly good luck over a thousand years, the spoils would be enough to supply an entire wizard faction’s need for plane wars for its graduation trials for over a thousand years.
Jie Ming pulled his thoughts back and began sorting through the various kinds of knowledge and resources he had obtained from the Holy Spirit plane cluster.
The Holy Spirit race’s most essential technologies were biological parasitism and mental resonance.
Their methods of parasitism were completely different from that horsehair-worm-like parasite from before: more refined, more covert, able to rewrite a host’s nervous system without the host noticing a thing.
Mental resonance technology, meanwhile, was the foundation that let the Holy Spirit race communicate and coordinate in real time across planes.
It couldn’t compare with a magic network terminal, but the technology itself could be applied in other areas too, which made it quite valuable.
Beyond that, there was a large amount of data on biological modification, construction parameters for spatial passages, as well as the Holy Spirit race’s own unique biological structure maps, and more.
Jie Ming sorted all this material one item at a time, picking out what was worth studying in depth.
There were also a great many Holy Spirit corpses and remains, which were sent to the experimental zone as well.
Having dealt with these odds and ends, Jie Ming stepped away from the Holy Spirit plane cluster for a while and made a trip back to the Infernal Sulfur Plane.
On a breeding planet built especially for the purpose, great numbers of Holy Spirits were being raised in separate zones.
Jie Ming looked down from high in the sky. These lifeforms, which had once called themselves a higher civilization, had now lost their former status.
Of course, the truly valuable Holy Spirit Kings were still sealed away separately.
After all, to Jie Ming, things like those were no ordinary livestock.
“How are things now?” Jie Ming looked over the state of several zones.
The Black Giant priest in charge immediately stepped forward to report:
“As you required, we have brought the breeding density and resource supply under control. Some of the Holy Spirits have begun to recover their mental state, and there have been no large-scale deaths so far.”
“Good work. Keep it up.” Jie Ming nodded. “Remember, don’t consume the high-level individuals carelessly.”
“Yes.”
Having given these instructions, Jie Ming went back to Jack’s plane to deal with other matters.
Several months passed without his noticing.
That day, Jie Ming was sorting a batch of special mental materials he had obtained from the Holy Spirit race when his magic network terminal suddenly buzzed.
He looked up. The light screen unfolded, and familiar long silver-gray hair and that ever-smiling face appeared before him.
“Junior Brother!”
“Senior Sister, what is it?”
Viola smiled. “Just giving you a heads-up: Wizard Starfall is coming.”
Jie Ming was slightly taken aback. “Starfall? What is she coming here for?”
“I invited her.”
Viola explained, “I’ve run into a bit of trouble over here lately, and it’s rather tricky to deal with. As it happens, she was getting ready to run a test on her end too, so she decided to just come over.”
“A test?”
Jie Ming raised an eyebrow.
When that word came out of a high-level wizard’s mouth, and especially when the one running the test was the holder of that Level-One Cultivation Protocol, it meant things would not be all that simple.
“Yep. You can come along and watch when the time comes.” Viola nodded with a smile.
“Understood.” Jie Ming nodded. “Is there anything I need to prepare?”
“Nope.”
Viola shook her head. “Just have your people meet her when the time comes.”
After all, the entrance on the other side of the spatial passage was located in Jie Ming’s Infernal Sulfur Plane.
Jie Ming immediately looked at a Black Giant priest beside him.
“Once Wizard Starfall comes through, notify me at once.”
The Black Giant priest lowered its head in salute:
“As you command.”
At the other end of the call, Viola nodded in satisfaction. “Then I’ll leave it to you.”
“No need to be so polite.”
The light screen closed, and Jie Ming sat back down in his seat, quietly thinking.
Wizard Starfall was actually coming…
It seemed Senior Sister had found something rather interesting over there.
