I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 816: Coordinate Reset
Having finished covering his own traces, Jie Ming was in no hurry to examine the information inside the Reflection Prism.
After all, with a ninth-level creation like this, nobody could say what fallback measures were hidden in it.
Even if that ninth-level existence had left no fallback inside, there was no guaranteeing what odds and ends those tripe-creatures might have hidden in there.
Or rather, judging by how highly those fellows had valued this thing, a fallback was certain.
If there were any kind of locating or sensing measure inside it, it might even be recalled across space by someone.
So while Jie Ming put distance between himself and this place at speed, he opened the True-False Void-Piercing Pupil and examined the whole Reflection Prism carefully.
He soon caught several distinct frequencies of unusual fluctuation among the energy the Reflection Prism gave off, and one exceedingly obscure energy band among them was entirely unlike an ordinary energy cycle.
Jie Ming unfolded his Law Solidification Domain and sensed it again, and could feel clearly that this Reflection Prism was out of keeping with the world around it, as though it were a system unto itself.
“So that is it…” Jie Ming raised an eyebrow slightly.
Viola had once told him that after the sixth level, ninth-level creations became easy to distinguish.
And so it proved. Because of their own nature, ninth-level creations amount to a world unto themselves, which stands out quite plainly to the senses of a Law Solidification Domain.
And by some means or other, those tripe-creatures had used that very property of a ninth-level creation to remake it into a signal that broadcast outward.
No wonder the tripe-creatures had been able to intercept the Multiracial Alliance combat squad so precisely. The fluctuations this thing gave off simply could not be blocked, and even with multiple layers of seals applied by the Multiracial Alliance squad, their trail had still been found.
The Multiracial Alliance squad had probably discovered this as well, which was why they had decided to simply exterminate the tripe-creatures.
But as it happened, Jie Ming had a way of dealing with this thing.
He waved a hand, and an unremarkable small instrument appeared in his palm.
This was precisely the ninth-level creation he had captured earlier in the octopus-men’s manufacturing plant, an energy source capable of supplying limitless power.
He did not know its name, but as a ninth-level creation itself, this thing likewise gave off its own particular energy fluctuations, which made it perfectly suited to interfering with another ninth-level creation.
Jie Ming activated the energy instrument, adjusting its energy frequency continuously and setting the output band to a phase exactly opposite that signal.
With a low hum the two bands of energy collided lightly, and the fluctuations across the Reflection Prism’s surface immediately fell into disorder.
Right behind that, Jie Ming rapidly laid layer upon layer of seals over it.
In the space of a few seconds, hundreds of layers of different kinds of seal went on one after another.
In the end that enormous prism, dozens of meters tall, was compressed and sealed together with the energy source beside it into a sphere of light less than half a meter across.
Since the energy source itself could output energy without limit, Jie Ming had been quite ruthless in applying the seals.
Across the surface of the sphere, countless runes turned slowly.
Through the seal one could just make out the pale blue energy within interweaving with the dark golden seals, cutting off every fluctuation inside completely.
He checked it over once more, and only after confirming there was not the slightest leakage of information did Jie Ming nod, satisfied, and store it away in the deepest part of his inner world.
Then, by way of the spatial teleportation array inside his inner world, Jie Ming sent the thing straight back to the Infernal Sulfur Plane.
He did not dare say much about it, though, and only issued an order to the black giant priests through the Incense Fire Divine Dao, telling them to store the thing securely at the highest classification.
“There is no rush. I will study it properly once I am back.”
Only at this point did Jie Ming truly breathe out.
This way, even if he died, he could perfectly well be resurrected back there by the Substitute Death Doll.
That major problem settled, Jie Ming stopped and looked at the unstable space around the Broken Bone Corridor. He drew a deep breath, and his gaze turned resolute.
“Carrying on by the original route will not do now. I need a different road…”
The disturbance from that battle had not been large, but Jie Ming knew he now had to weaken the connection between himself and the Broken Bone Corridor as far as he could.
By rights, having already entered the Broken Bone Corridor in plain sight, shaking off that association would be quite difficult; but it was not impossible.
“If I disregard the cost, the timing should still work out…”
Jie Ming calmed himself, and his inner world and the space outside shook at the same moment.
Mustard Seed Dao-Holding True Body Art!
And then… coordinate reset!
Without sound or sign, Jie Ming’s figure vanished in an instant.
The mapping coordinates between the inner world and reality shifted abruptly, and at the same moment, a full star system away from where he had been, the void trembled faintly and the puppet carrying Jie Ming’s coordinates appeared anew.
This was no spatial skill like a spatial transit or a blink. By distorting the mapping coordinates between the inner world and reality, he had directly altered his own position of existence in reality!
And yet very nearly the instant the coordinate reset completed, his expression changed slightly.
Rumble, rumble…
Inside the inner world, a terrible spatial storm erupted without warning!
Hundreds of millions of miles of sky split open in an instant, and a spatial fissure spanning the whole inner world abruptly appeared!
The mountain ranges within the inner world were torn bodily into fragments, countless rivers were cut off, and continental plates tilted up and broke apart one after another.
In the inner world’s core region, a fully automated alchemical factory had barely brought its defenses online before they were crushed with ease by the spatial turbulence, and even the heavily warded factory had a corner of its wall shorn off by the brutal spatial storm.
And so several hundred pieces of precision equipment were exposed to the elemental turbulence the spatial storm had stirred up.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Firelight burst out in an unbroken chain, and very nearly every instrument in the whole automated factory was scrapped in an instant.
Jie Ming could feel clearly that dense cracks had appeared in the inner world’s outermost plane barrier, and that some substance like blood was seeping slowly out along the fissures.
By the Mustard Seed Dao-Holding True Body Art, his true body had long since fused into one with the inner world. For the inner world to be injured was for his own body to take a grievous wound.
Jie Ming’s field of vision shifted to the interior of the inner world. He glanced at his crack-covered palm, then looked toward the automated factory in the inner world with its missing corner, and the corner of his mouth could not help twitching:
“That equipment was newly bought…”
Under normal circumstances, shifting the mapping coordinates with the Mustard Seed Dao-Holding True Body Art would of course produce no problem this serious.
But there was no getting around the fact that Jie Ming was not yet practiced enough with the Mustard Seed Dao-Holding True Body Art. He had completed only the first two steps, and had not finished the final third step at all.
In that state, when shifting coordinates he could not fully separate the influence between the two spaces of reality and the inner world.
Put plainly, when Jie Ming moved his coordinates now, every spatial or elemental fluctuation connected with the outside space of reality would affect his inner world in step.
