I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 814: The Hour of Annihilation

~5 minute read · 1,348 words

Seeing Jie Ming entirely unharmed, the tripe-creature simply refused to accept it.

It clutched the Reflection Prism tight, dark yellow fluid seeping steadily from its split wounds and staining an already ruined body still more wretchedly, and yet those clouded eyes churned with a near-mad obsession.

Hmmm…

The Reflection Prism turned over again, the dim mirrored surface split open, a pitch-black Reflection Dimension passage yawned wide, and the terrible dimensional differential produced by dimensional contact swept toward Jie Ming once more.

At the sight, Jie Ming still stood where he was, with no intention of moving a step.

The dimensional passage swept across his Dharma Form like an insignificant breath of wind, and the dark golden Dharma Form did not so much as ripple.

“Impossible!!!”

The tripe-creature’s pupils contracted. With a low snarl, it drove the Reflection Prism again.

The Reflection Dimension passage opened and closed, opened and closed, and the whole void was like a scroll torn open over and over.

But however the Reflection Dimension opened, that dimensional differential, enough to annihilate an eighth-level being in an instant, never had the slightest effect on Jie Ming.

Later on Jie Ming even shrank his own Dharma Form down a size of his own accord, to make sure the entire direction could be covered by the dimensional passage.

A Dharma Form is essentially an energy body, and before it has been fully converted into a true body, its size can naturally be adjusted.

But as an energy-body exoskeleton, its combat power does genuinely change with its size, so shrinking the Dharma Form did substantively reduce his combat strength.

The tripe-creature could feel clearly that its enemy’s energy fluctuations had dropped a good deal, and yet even so, the dimensional passages it opened still could not do him any harm at all.

Having recognized that fact, the tentacle gripping the Reflection Prism began to tremble faintly.

More and more dark yellow fluid seeped from its body and dripped steadily down, like a cold sweat.

“Finished experimenting? If that was not enough, I can let you try again.”

Seeing the other side stop attacking, Jie Ming tilted his head and offered the reminder “kindly.”

Judging by the other’s performance just now, the Reflection Prism’s main effect should be the ability to open a dimensional passage anytime, anywhere.

But that alone should hardly be enough to have those Multiracial Alliance people fighting so hard over it. There had to be some other secret to it.

And the tripe-creature, hearing Jie Ming say this, opened its mouth, its body twitching stiffly, and forced out a smile uglier than weeping:

“Er… my friend…”

It regretted bitterly now that it had not agreed earlier to the man’s request to leave.

Let him go and be done with it. From a name alone, nobody could possibly know what truly made its sacred relic precious.

“I feel there is really no need for us all to fight to the death… could we be reconciled?”

Jie Ming produced a very mild smile of his own, as though nothing at all had happened.

He was silent for a few seconds, then slowly raised a finger and aimed it at the tripe-creature. “Of course… not!”

As the words fell, on that finger of the Dharma Form, which even shrunken still blotted out the sky, a gray flame quietly kindled.

The whole flame was tiny, covering no more than the very tip of the finger, negligibly small against the Dharma Form entire.

And yet, in the instant that gray flame appeared, the whole void suddenly went silent!

Looking at that flame, every creature present felt a terror welling up from within, as though they had looked directly upon the end of the world.

【Light God Transformation · Annihilation Form】!

This was part of the core knowledge Jie Ming had obtained from that eighth-level wizard back on the information plane, after their trade was concluded.

He had fused the entropy-increasing flame the other man had spent his life researching with his own Light God Transformation, using that flame, which stood for ultimate entropy increase, to replace the Trigram Fire Annihilation Divine Light that ordinarily filled the interior of the Light God Transformation.

Even so, the entropy-increasing flame was, whatever else might be said, an eighth-level wizard’s ultimate hidden card.

Having the complete body of knowledge about it, and having had that wizard personally help adjust the algorithms and the scheme of use, still did not mean it could be easily controlled.

To ignite that one small tuft of gray flame, Jie Ming had to continuously adjust the hundreds of millions of energy cycles inside the Light God Transformation, keeping the Light God Transformation’s vast structure in an exceedingly fragile balance with the entropy-increasing flame.

Any single deviation would throw the energy out of balance and bring the backlash down on him.

So the greatest drawback of this move was that Jie Ming needed several seconds of preparation to launch it.

His letting the other side attack freely a moment ago had not been out of kindness of heart, but to stall for as much time as possible while he gathered power.

As for why the flame could only be maintained on that tiny point at his fingertip, the reason was simple enough.

When Jie Ming had used the Light God Transformation Annihilation Form before and covered his whole body, it was because his Light God Transformation had then been the size of an ordinary person’s body.

Now, although the total quantity of entropy-increasing flame he could control had grown as well, it was still vastly out of proportion with the increase in the Dharma Form’s size.

So the present Annihilation Form covered only this small patch at his fingertip.

But this much was already enough!

Having seen that tuft of flame, the smile on the tripe-creature’s face froze solid.

Danger! Danger!

Run!

That long-unfelt terror born of the instinct of life crashed wildly against its consciousness, as though every cell and the soul itself were screaming.

Without a moment’s hesitation, it flung the Reflection Prism aside. “Take the sacred relic and go!!”

Hearing that howl, the few remaining tripe-creatures very nearly caught the prism on instinct, then turned and fled wildly into the distance.

The tripe-creature itself did not retreat, but charged straight at Jie Ming instead!

The flesh across its body burst apart, and dark yellow fluid became a dense mist gushing out of every split in it.

Black energy began compressing wildly, combining with the fluid and forming terrible energy fluctuations.

It was in fact preparing to self-destruct, to buy its kin a little time to escape with its own body.

Jie Ming watched it quietly, and then the Dharma Form’s burning finger came gently down.

The motion was very light, as though he were merely pointing at something in passing.

But in the instant of contact with the Dharma Form’s fingertip, the tripe-creature vanished.

Everything about it, from flesh to soul, from matter to energy, down to all the basic information that composed it, returned utterly to chaos the instant it touched the entropy-increasing flame!

Looking at that entirely unsurprising result, Jie Ming let out a soft breath, and the gray flame at the Dharma Form’s fingertip went out with it.

The Annihilation Form was released, and dark golden divine light flowed through his whole body once more.

Jie Ming glanced at his Dharma Form’s finger, already beginning to heal, and nodded to himself.

Just as he had expected, the power had indeed not disappointed him.

It was only… far too hard to use.

Never mind the several seconds of charging needed before use, even once used it was difficult to maintain for long.

“It seems there is still refining to do.”

The thought flashed past, and Jie Ming’s gaze had already settled on those tripe-creatures fleeing in the distance.
