I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 766: Creation

Much like modified spells, though, the foundation of a Talisman-Rune Artifact was a great mass of knowledge.

Its power was not determined by the material itself, but by the rune array engraved into it and by the depth of understanding and control brought to bear on the elements.

Put plainly, what Jie Ming needed now was to study a great deal of knowledge and through it develop or learn new sixth-level spells.

To that end he had to fill in his systematic knowledge above the sixth level in alchemy, runes, potions, life modification, energy and space. He had dabbled in all of these at the fifth level too.

The biggest difference between the versions above the sixth level and those at the fifth was that all of them were deeply bound up with the Law Solidification Domain.

Alchemy was no longer merely the physical shaping of materials, but the infusion of materials at the level of their essence using a Law Solidification Domain.

Runes were no longer simple elemental guidance, but the engraving of a Law Solidification Domain’s logic of rules into a material carrier.

As for knowledge of space, that was tied directly to the manipulation of a plane origin.

Put plainly, a Law Solidification Domain was not merely a convenient coordinating “machine.”

Many sixth-level wizards used theirs directly as the medium for casting spells, or simply treated it as a weapon and fought with it.

Jie Ming opened his magic network terminal and began searching the Star Ring Federation’s knowledge trading platform item by item for sixth-level textbooks and research materials in these fields. Many of the textbooks here already required high-level military merits to buy, but on the other hand, because this was only sixth-level knowledge, the merits they cost were remarkably cheap!

“Damn, this only costs a thousand high-level military merits? That has to be a pricing error!”

Jie Ming looked at the price on the light screen and could not help feeling somewhat shocked.

He switched the filter to purchasing with low-level military merits and found that the same materials and textbooks would run past a hundred million if paid for that way! “Buy it, buy it, buy it! Look how few high-level merits that is!”

Jie Ming felt fit to swell up with it.

The book list on the light screen kept scrolling downward, and after a quick skim of each summary he added it to his cart.

And so Jie Ming spent another ten years and more in a state of frenzied study.

Until at last, on this day, a Black Giant priest brought him an important message—the Creation System was complete.

Out on the wastes, at the instant the last energy conduit finished mating, that ring array spanning several thousand kilometers opened its eyes for the first time, like a great beast long asleep.

Jie Ming hovered in the air above the center of the array and looked down at that vast, almost absurdly large structure beneath his feet, lighting up section by section from the outside inward.

The spiritual-material ripening zone.

The refinement amplification zone.

The energy conversion hub.

The data loading interface…

The Creation System’s various core submodules woke in sequence in the preset order, pushing the whole system’s power toward its peak bit by bit. Surging golden wish power from the Incense Fire Divine Dao system converged from every direction, and the near-inexhaustible high-purity elemental energy of the seventh-level large-scale elemental pool was drawn out at the same moment, flooding toward the center along conduits as dense as blood vessels.

They joined first in the energy conversion hub, then were compressed and restructured layer by layer through the refinement amplification zone.

Finally they were delivered with precision into the data loading interface and, under the Fate Subsystem’s control, surged straight toward the destination they were meant for.

Once he had confirmed the first activation was a complete success, Jie Ming raised a hand and uploaded all of the data previously stored in the refinement rings into the Creation System through the Fate Subsystem.

Those were the complete parameters he had accumulated bit by bit over these years.

Besides the data from the first star he had refined by hand, there were all the details finally distilled out of dozens of subsequent simulated experiments, corrected and optimized over and over.

“Let us try it…”

Jie Ming performed the control incantation with a certain impatience.

The next instant, this fourth formal subsystem of the Incense Fire Divine Dao was fully activated.

Hmmm…

The void at the center of the array shuddered violently, and a stable spatial rift was torn forcibly open.

At the far end of that rift was an ordinary star chosen from the Tentacle Tree star region.

It hung quietly in the void, fierce flames rolling across its surface, its light like a sea of fire.

The Creation System’s runic chains extended out and pressed slowly down on the star’s pulse like a vast invisible hand, gradually quieting it. Refinement runes stretched over along the spatial rift like tens of thousands of fine chains, winding soundlessly around the star’s outer plasma atmosphere.

Then the refinement began.

The outermost stellar gas layer was stripped away first.

Violent plasma flows were combed back into order under the runes’ guidance, and the flames rolling across the star’s surface were taken apart.

The spiritual-material ripening function now came into its own as well, accelerating without any loss the rate at which spiritual materials were born during the refinement process.

Temperatures fierce enough to burn away anything at all began to be split into two purer forms of power.

Red Solar True Fire welled continuously out along the spatial rift like a burning river, flowing into purpose-built vessels in the collection area. The surfaces of those vessels had long since been engraved with layer upon layer of runes, and with each infusion of flame the runes lit with a ring of fine golden tracery, locking that violent firepower down and sealing it inside.

And during this process, silver-white Star Power was extracted out of the Solar True Fire as well.

Silver-white motes of light flowed slowly along another conduit, merging into the star power pool to be compressed and sealed away.

Vast quantities of Star Power gathered and condensed into layer upon layer of starlight crystal facets, thin to the point of transparency.

Those facets spread out layer by layer across the bottom of the pool like a still sea of stars, holding an astonishing quantity of energy.

The whole refinement process was unusually smooth, and as it went on the Creation System kept collecting fresh data and, through the Fate Subsystem’s analysis, kept optimizing the process.

It could be foreseen that once enough stars had been refined, this process would become an almost assembly-line “simple” operation. “Whoa! That speed is a bit beyond what I expected.”

Jie Ming watched the star shrinking rapidly and could not help widening his eyes.

The Creation System’s own refining capability had not disappointed him, but what surprised him most was the spiritual-material ripening function.

Jie Ming really had not expected that function to be useful in the process of refining artificial spiritual materials as well!

“Small wonder it was classified under the Creation System.”

A star took only a very short time to go from the start of refinement to complete decomposition.

And before that star had entirely vanished, the Creation System’s data loading interface had already automatically generated the refinement parameters for the next one.

A new rune array had already been cast through the spatial rift toward the depths of the star region.

Given enough raw material and energy supply, this system could go on running like a tireless machine of divine make, on and on until it had squeezed the whole star region into the purest possible nourishment.

Jie Ming called up the Creation System’s real-time data panel and cast a quick eye over it.

Then he ran the numbers in his head.

Given sufficient energy, the Creation System could carry out multiple refinements at once.

At its current efficiency, with sufficient energy, it could refine somewhat over a million stars in a year.

That sounded like a great many, but against the Tentacle Tree Plane’s total stock of fifty billion stars, refining all of them would take more than fifty thousand years. Fifty thousand years.

To a mortal, that was an almost unimaginable span of time.

But to Jie Ming it was merely a long-term project, long enough certainly, but not absurd.

Leaving it to run automatically would do.

Jie Ming glanced at the Creation System’s energy consumption figures as well, then fell silent for a few seconds.

Then he felt genuinely grateful that when he had been building the Infernal Sulfur Plane’s core facilities he had gone decisively for a seventh-level large-scale elemental pool. Running the Creation System at full power consumed energy on a scale that could fairly be called outrageous.

Had he chosen a sixth-level elemental pool back then… every full-power activation of the Creation System would have crippled every other power supply system on the whole plane. At which point he would have had to economize on the laboratory lights.

Jie Ming shook his head, then used the Incense Fire Divine Dao communication network to issue a long-term order to all the Black Giant priests and the Tentacle Tree Civilization. The Creation System would go on refining the stars within the plane.

Their task was a single line: collect Solar True Fire and Star Power.

By standard procedure, store it in batches in purpose-built vessels, to be drawn on when the array eyes of the All-Heavens Star Grand Array were refined.

Once the order was given, he asked nothing further about it.

The Black Giant priests had followed him for several thousand years. Something like this no longer needed him watching it in person.

When the final work plan was drawn up, someone would bring it to his laboratory as a matter of course.

Jie Ming himself hurried back through the teleportation array to the main laboratory.

He had barely landed before he ducked straight into the quiet chamber.

While personally operating the Creation System through that first full refinement cycle, he had clearly felt the golden thread in his spiritual sea that represented his mastery of the Spiritual Qi Law shoot sharply upward.

The Creation System was itself a subsystem of the Incense Fire Divine Dao.

Every cycle it ran was a practical application of the whole of his theory concerning the Spiritual Qi Law.

That feedback, from bringing theory genuinely down into reality, improved law mastery far more directly and far more violently than sitting and deducing ever could. Jie Ming sat down cross-legged and sank his consciousness into his spiritual sea.

The Spiritual Qi Law’s golden thread was a full measure thicker than before.

Jie Ming did not hesitate. He took portions of some of the other golden law threads from the Ring of Truth and fed them into the Law Solidification Domain. The instant the new law information was injected, the domain’s boundary began expanding outward at speed, as though it had been given a dose of catalyst.

The dark golden membrane climbed outward without pause, and at the same time the domain’s intensity rose in step.

The dark golden membrane at the boundary went from semi-transparent to steadily more solid, and the arrangement of law runes inside it grew denser and denser.

That curve of figures pressing through his spiritual sea was climbing at a steady and astonishing rate.

Jie Ming felt the change out in silence, and a clear judgment gradually surfaced in his mind.

At this intensity now…

He ought to be able to attempt a formal fusion with the Infernal Sulfur Plane’s plane origin now, with the aid of a plane-level array.
