Leo holds his newborn son for the first time, marveling at his resemblance to Bella. His daughter then begins to cry, and Leo comforts her, stopping her tears instantly. The midwife jokingly suggests the daughter was jealous of her brother, and Leo is left in disbelief at his infant daughter's possessiveness.

Leo’s eyes widened slightly.

He looked at her as if she had just spoken the most important words he had ever heard.

"Awaa?" he repeated softly.

His daughter moved her mouth again, producing another tiny sound as her fingers brushed his cheek.

A quiet laugh escaped him.

"Oh, I see. You have a lot to say to Papa, don’t you?"

The midwife smiled at the scene.

"She seems quite happy now."

Leo barely heard her. He was too busy watching his daughter, who had settled comfortably against him and seemed entirely satisfied with the arrangement.

He adjusted his hold carefully, supporting her little head as he brought her closer to his chest.

"All right, Princess," he whispered, brushing his cheek lightly against her tiny hand. "Papa is here."

He glanced at his son, who remained in the midwife’s arms, then looked back at his daughter.

"But you have to share me with your brother, understood?"

The little girl responded with another soft, unintelligible sound.

"Awaa..."

Leo’s smile grew.

"That’s not an answer, little miss."

The midwife finally laughed.

"Mr. Moretti, I don’t think she’s planning to negotiate with you."

Leo looked down at his daughter, who had begun moving her fingers against his shirt.

Bella slowly opened her eyes.

For a moment, everything around her seemed a little blurry. She felt exhausted, her body aching from the delivery and even lifting her eyelids required more effort than usual. She blinked a few times, allowing her vision to adjust to the light, before her gaze wandered across the room.

And then she found him.

Leo was standing nearby, holding their little daughter in his arms. The sight of her husband cradling their newborn so carefully brought a faint, tired smile to Bella’s lips.

Bella wanted to call him.

She wanted to tell him how happy she was to see him holding their baby.

However, before she could say anything, the midwife noticed that she was awake.

"Miss Bella!" she said happily, approaching the bed. "You’re awake. Look, here’s your baby boy."

She carefully brought the little boy closer and placed him beside Bella.

Bella immediately turned her attention toward him.

Their son was lying peacefully on the bed, his tiny body wrapped snugly in a soft blanket. His little face looked so innocent and his small lips moved slightly as he slept.

A wave of affection washed over Bella.

Bella shifted a little to get a better look at him, careful of her aching body.

Perhaps sensing the movement beside him, the baby slowly opened his eyes.

Those beautiful brown eyes looked in her direction.

Bella froze.

Then her entire expression softened.

"Oh, my little baby..." she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Her heart practically melted at the sight of him looking at her so innocently. She wanted to reach out and touch his little cheeks, kiss his forehead and hold him close but she was still too exhausted to move around comfortably.

So she simply watched him, smiling with tears gathering in her eyes.

Leo noticed the change in her expression.

"Bunny."

His voice immediately drew her attention.

When their eyes met, his entire face softened with relief. He had been so worried about her that seeing her awake and smiling at their son felt like a gift.

Bella smiled weakly at him.

Leo carefully brought their daughter over and placed her beside her brother, making sure she was comfortable and safely supported.

For a brief moment, both babies lay next to each other.

Their son remained peaceful, his brown eyes slowly blinking as he looked around.

Their daughter, however, seemed to have a very different opinion about this arrangement.

The moment Leo moved away from her, her little face scrunched up and then she began crying.

"Waaah! Waaah!"

Bella’s eyes widened.

"Eh? Why is she crying?" she asked, immediately attempting to move toward her daughter. "What’s wrong, sweetheart?"

Before she could reach for the baby, Leo stepped closer.

"No, Bunny. You rest."

He bent down and carefully scooped their daughter into his arms.

"I’ll handle this little mischievous troublemaker."

His lips curved into an amused smile as he settled her against his chest.

And, as if she had been waiting for precisely that, the little girl stopped crying almost immediately.

Bella blinked.

She looked at her daughter.

Then at Leo.

Then back at her daughter.

The baby had gone from crying dramatically to resting comfortably in her father’s arms within seconds.

The midwife watched the scene with an increasingly amused expression.

"See, Miss Bella?" she said with a smile. "This is the second time she’s done that. She started crying when her father stopped holding her, and the moment he picked her up again, she became perfectly happy."

Bella stared at her daughter for another second before bursting into soft laughter.

"Oh, my goodness!"

She laughed so much that she had to pause and catch her breath, her tired face lighting up with genuine amusement.

"She’s only been here for a few minutes and she’s already attached to her papa!"

Bella laughed softly, still amazed by how quickly their little girl had stopped crying the moment Leo picked her up.

Leo glanced down at the baby in his arms, a smile spreading across his face.

His daughter was now perfectly content, her tiny fingers moving against his shirt as she gazed up at him. He gently adjusted her position, making sure her little head was supported properly.

"You’re quite something, Princess," he murmured affectionately.

Just then, the door opened, and the others began entering the room.

Before anyone else could say a word, Eli came running inside at full speed.

He was so excited to see his mumma and the new babies that he barely noticed the nurse stepping out of his way. He almost bumped into her but the nurse managed to move aside just in time.

Eli immediately stopped.

His eyes widened when he realized what had happened.

"I’m sorry!" he said quickly, bringing both hands together in a little apologetic gesture. "Sorry, sister!"

The nurse couldn’t help laughing at his adorable manners.

"It’s all right, sweetheart. Just be careful, okay?"

Eli nodded enthusiastically before hurrying toward Bella’s bed again.

"Big Champ! Easy, easy!" Jay shouted from behind him, following at a much more reasonable pace. "You’re visiting your mumma, not competing in a race!"

"Eli, slow down!" Jace called after him, equally amused.

But Eli was already beside Bella, his little face bright with excitement as he looked up at her.

Behind them, Lina and Alessandro stepped into the room together. The moment they spotted the two newborns, their expressions lit up with happiness.

"They’re here!" Lina exclaimed, bringing a hand to her mouth as she looked from one baby to the other.

Alessandro stood beside her, smiling in amazement.
