His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker. Chapter 932 Insecurity
Previously on His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker....
As the days passed, Bella began noticing something that slowly started bothering her more than she wanted to admit.
Since becoming pregnant, Leo was still affectionate with her.
He still kissed her whenever he came home, still pulled her into his arms when she was sleepy, still brushed her hair away from her face and pressed soft kisses against her forehead and sometimes their kisses even became passionate enough to leave her cheeks burning.
Yet there was one thing that had changed and Bella could not stop noticing it. Leo never allowed things to go any further anymore.
At first, Bella had told herself that he was simply being careful because she was pregnant. She understood that. At least, she thought she did. But after several weeks that explanation slowly became tangled with another, much more painful thought.
Perhaps he didn’t desire her anymore.
Perhaps he looked at her differently now.
Perhaps her pregnancy had made her less beautiful in his eyes.
The thought was irrational but pregnancy had made her emotions strangely sensitive.
Little things that she would normally laugh off could suddenly make her eyes burn and once an insecurity found its way into her mind, it became almost impossible to push away.
That evening, Bella stood in front of the bedroom mirror for a long time.
She wore one of the red dresses Leo loved. It fitted her softly around the body, although her little tummy was beginning to show beneath the fabric now.
It wasn’t large yet but Bella noticed every tiny change. She slowly turned sideways and looked at herself.
Her fingers moved instinctively toward her stomach.
Her eyes looked tired.
Her face wasn’t as fresh as it used to be.
She had been dealing with nausea, exhaustion, strange cravings and moods that could change without warning. Even her body felt unfamiliar sometimes.
Bella lowered her gaze.
A small ache formed inside her chest.
"He doesn’t love me anymore..."
The thought came so suddenly that her lips trembled.
She quickly shook her head.
"No, that’s stupid."
But the more she tried to dismiss it, the more it hurt.
Then another thought appeared.
Bella stared at her reflection, almost offended by her own ridiculous logic but she couldn’t stop herself from believing it.
She touched her lips.
"I want him to kiss me..." Her voice was barely audible.
"And I want him to look at me like before."
By the time Leo returned home later that night, Bella had already been lying in bed for quite some time.
The sound of the bedroom door opening immediately caught her attention.
Leo stepped inside, looking exhausted after a long day. His tie was slightly loosened, his hair was messy and the tiredness on his face was obvious. He glanced toward the bed but before he could say anything, his phone vibrated in his pocket.
He checked it briefly, placed it aside and walked toward the bathroom.
Bella stared at him.
He hadn’t kissed her.
Her eyes immediately became watery.
She pulled the blanket closer.
Her heart sank.
He doesn’t even want to kiss me anymore.
She looked down at the red dress she had deliberately chosen for him.
She had spent time changing into it.
She had even brushed her hair carefully because she remembered how Leo used to look at her whenever she wore this particular dress.
But he hadn’t even noticed.
Or perhaps he had noticed and simply didn’t care anymore.
Bella’s lower lip trembled.
"Argh..."
She sniffled and wiped her eyes. "I want a divorce."
The words came out through her tears and even Bella knew she didn’t mean them.
She didn’t want a divorce.
She wanted Leo to notice her. She wanted him to look at her the way he always had. She wanted to feel wanted.
But instead of calling him back, Bella turned onto her side and pulled the blanket over herself, quietly crying.
A few minutes later, the bathroom door opened.
Leo came out while drying his hair with a towel, completely unaware of the emotional storm waiting for him.
He took two steps toward the bed before noticing that Bella was unusually still.
"Bella?"
There was no answer.
Leo frowned.
He lowered the towel from his hair and walked closer.
"Bunny?"
Still nothing.
He bent slightly and finally saw her tear-streaked face.
His entire expression changed. "Bella..."
He immediately sat beside her and reached for her.
"Oh, my baby, what happened?"
Bella pushed his hands away.
"Go away!"
Leo froze.
His eyebrows drew together in confusion. "Bella?"
"Go away!" Her voice cracked, making Leo even more worried.
He moved closer instead of leaving. "At least tell me what happened."
Bella turned her face away and wiped her tears angrily. "Nothing."
"You’re crying, how can nothing happened???"
"I know I am crying, nothing to do with you!" She said crying more.
"Then something happened i should know??" He asked patiently.
Bella turned her head.
"No."
Leo stared at her helplessly.
"Did someone say something to you?"
"No."
"Are you feeling sick?" He tried to imagine every possible reason.
"No! No"
"Then why are you crying?" He asked.
Bella pulled the blanket tighter around herself. "Nothing happened."
Leo let out a slow breath.
He had absolutely no idea what he was supposed to do. "Bunny..."
Bella immediately turned her face farther away. "Don’t call me Bunny."
Leo’s expression fell slightly.
"Then what should I call you?"
Bella sniffled. "Nothing."
Leo studied her face carefully.
Something was wrong.
Very wrong.
He slowly sat closer, keeping his voice gentle. "Did I do something?"
Bella’s eyes immediately filled with fresh tears.
She looked at him for a few seconds before whispering, "You don’t love me anymore."
Leo went completely still.
"...What?"
Bella looked down.
"You don’t."
Leo’s heart dropped.
"Bella, where did you get that idea?"
"Because..." Her voice became smaller. "You don’t want me anymore."
Leo stared at her, genuinely stunned.
He reached for her hand, but Bella hesitated before finally allowing him to hold it. "Who told you that?"
Bella shook her head.
"Nobody."
"Then why would you think of something like that?" He asked.
Bella’s eyes filled again.
She finally looked directly at him. "Because you don’t touch me like before."
