Eli takes over caring for Bella, carefully preparing her meals and ensuring she rests. Leo witnesses Eli's dedication and praises him for being a 'Big Champ'. Later, Bella prepares for her routine doctor's appointment, feeling nervous about the baby's health despite Leo's reassurances.

Leo squeezed her hand gently, his fingers fitting securely around hers as he looked at her with a calm expression that did little to hide the concern in his eyes.

"We’ll find out soon."

Bella nodded but his reassurance could not completely chase away the nervousness inside her. It remained there, making her heart beat a little faster than usual. She knew routine check-ups were normal and everyone had repeatedly assured her that everything was going well but knowing that did not stop her from worrying about the tiny life growing inside her.

I

And somehow, that made every small concern feel much bigger than it should have.

When they arrived at the hospital, Leo stayed beside her as they walked through the familiar corridors. Bella kept one hand around his while the other occasionally rested over her stomach without her even realizing it.

The moment they entered the examination room, the familiar smell of antiseptic reached her and the bright white lights overhead made everything feel unusually sharp and serious.

The doctor welcomed them with a warm smile before asking Bella to sit down.

"How have you been feeling since your last visit?"

Bella thought for a moment before answering carefully.

"I still feel nauseous sometimes. I’ve vomited a few times too, especially in the mornings. My appetite keeps changing. Some days I feel hungry all the time and other days I barely want to look at food."

She gave a small embarrassed smile.

"And I get tired very easily."

The doctor listened patiently, making a few notes before asking several more questions. Bella answered each one honestly, occasionally glancing toward Leo whenever she was unsure about something. He remained beside her the entire time, listening just as carefully as she was.

Once the questions were finished, the doctor began the necessary examinations.

Bella lay back, her fingers instinctively curling around Leo’s hand again. Her heart began beating faster as the examination continued. She tried to relax but it was difficult when she was so aware of every movement around her.

Leo noticed almost immediately.

His thumb moved slowly over the back of her hand, tracing gentle strokes across her skin whenever he felt her fingers tighten around his.

Bella glanced at him.

He gave her a small reassuring smile.

She tried to return it.

Several tests were performed and the doctor carefully checked everything that needed to be checked at this stage of the pregnancy. Bella remained unusually attentive to the doctor’s face throughout the process.

Perhaps too attentive.

Every tiny change in the doctor’s expression made her imagination run wild.

Whenever the doctor paused, Bella’s heart skipped.

Whenever she frowned slightly while reading something on the screen, Bella’s stomach twisted.

Even when the doctor was simply concentrating, Bella found herself wondering whether something was wrong.

Leo noticed her watching the doctor and gently squeezed her hand. "Bella."

She looked at him.

"Don’t worry."

"I’m trying," she whispered.

"I know." His thumb brushed over her knuckles again. "But you’re worrying anyway."

Bella gave him a small pout.

"I can’t help it."

Leo’s expression softened.

"I know."

The examination continued for a little longer and eventually the doctor looked carefully at the results in front of her.

Bella immediately noticed the pause.

Her heart lurched.

She swallowed.

"Doctor..."

The doctor looked toward her.

Bella hesitated for a moment before asking the question that had been sitting on the tip of her tongue since they arrived.

"Is everything okay?"

The room seemed to become quieter.

Bella held her breath without realizing it.

Leo’s fingers tightened gently around hers and although his face remained composed, his eyes stayed fixed on the doctor.

Bella looked at her anxiously, silently hoping with everything inside her that their little baby was healthy.

The doctor looked at them for another moment before a reassuring smile appeared on her face.

"Your baby is healthy."

For a second, Bella simply stared at her.

It was as though her mind needed a moment to understand the words.

Then the tension slowly disappeared from her face.

Her shoulders relaxed, the worry in her eyes faded and a huge smile spread across her lips.

"Really?"

The doctor nodded.

"Yes. Everything looks good so far."

Bella’s eyes immediately softened with relief.

She placed one hand over her stomach, almost protectively, her palm resting gently against the small curve.

"Our baby is healthy..." she whispered.

Her voice trembled slightly but this time it was not from fear. It was happiness.

She looked down at her stomach with a soft smile.

Beside her, Leo’s usually composed expression had changed completely.

The relief on his face was impossible to miss.

A broad, genuine smile appeared across his lips, and for a moment he simply looked at Bella before his gaze slowly lowered toward her stomach.

Their baby was healthy.

Their little one was fine.

He squeezed Bella’s hand again, this time with a little more warmth.

"I told you not to worry."

Bella immediately looked at him.

Her eyes narrowed playfully.

"You were nervous too."

Leo’s smile faltered.

"I wasn’t."

Bella raised one eyebrow.

"You were."

"I was not," he denied quickly.

"You kept looking at the doctor," Bella said, grinning.

"I was just listening to everything carefully," Leo explained.

"You were staring because you were nervous and wanted to know how the baby is."

Leo paused.

Bella’s expression became even more suspicious.

"Liar."

Leo sighed, looking away for a moment as though he had suddenly become very interested in absolutely anything else in the room.

Bella smiled.

The doctor couldn’t help but chuckle softly at them.

"You two can relax now. The baby is doing well."

Bella smiled again, her fingers still resting over her stomach.

The doctor continued explaining the results and what Bella should keep in mind as she entered her third month.

"As you enter your third month, you’ll still need to take good care of yourself. Continue taking your prescribed supplements regularly, drink plenty of water and try to eat balanced meals whenever you can tolerate them. Your appetite may continue changing, and nausea can still happen for a while, although many women notice that it gradually improves as the pregnancy progresses."

Bella nodded carefully, listening to every word.

She looked almost like she was memorizing the doctor’s instructions.

"And what about exercise?" she asked.

"Light activity is generally fine if you’re feeling well," the doctor explained. "Walking is a good option, but don’t push yourself. If you become dizzy, unusually tired, short of breath, or uncomfortable, stop and rest. Your body is already doing a lot of work."

Bella nodded.

"I understand."
