His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker. Chapter 908 I want to settle everything with them privately
Previously on His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker....
The principal looked at Jack for a moment, then glanced toward Leo and Bella before speaking carefully. His gaze moved between the three of them.
"I suggest we can do whatever you want here," the principal said carefully, his voice calm and cautious. "We can handle this here."
Jack immediately shook his head. His response was quick, almost dismissive, as though the principal’s suggestion was beneath his consideration.
"No. I want to settle everything with them privately."
There was a smugness in his voice that made the principal pause. The confidence in Jack’s tone was misplaced, almost absurd and it took the principal a moment to fully register what he was hearing. Jack spoke as though he had already won, as though the outcome was guaranteed.
He looked at Jack again, this time more carefully. He studied the man’s posture, the self-assured tilt of his chin, the way his eyes gleamed with barely concealed greed.
Then his eyes shifted toward Leo.
The man’s expression was calm, almost unnaturally calm. There was even the faintest hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth but there was nothing reassuring about it.
It was the kind of smile that preceded something terrible, the kind of smile that made men rethink their decisions. His gray eyes were unblinking, fixed on Jack with an intensity that should have made any sensible person nervous.
The principal suddenly understood.
Meanwhile, Jack thought that meant some kind of financial settlement. He believed he was about to negotiate, to demand money, to walk away with a fortune in exchange for his silence. He had convinced himself that his connection to Eli gave him leverage, that the wealthy family would rather pay him off than risk a scandal.
Seeing his greedy expression, it was almost painful to watch.
The principal cleared his throat. He had seen many foolish people in his years as an administrator but Jack was something else entirely. The man was walking into a trap of his own making.
"Jack, before we do that..." he said slowly, choosing his words carefully. "You should be certain that this is what you want. Once you decide to handle the matter privately with them, I can’t interfere."
He gave Jack a meaningful look, hoping the warning would be enough. He was trying to give the man an escape route, a chance to reconsider before he stepped into something he couldn’t undo. His eyes conveyed a silent message: Think about what you’re doing. These are not people you want to cross.
Jack didn’t understand it at all.
Instead, his confidence seemed to increase. He straightened his posture, as though he had just won a victory. His chest puffed out slightly and his lips curved into a smile that was meant to look confident but only succeeded in looking foolish.
"Of course," he said with a self-satisfied smile. "That’s exactly what I want."
The principal stared at him for another second. There was a flicker of something in his eyes, perhaps pity or resignation or both. He had done his part. He had tried to warn the man.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
Jack nodded firmly. He crossed his arms over his chest, his posture defiant.
"I want to settle everything privately."
The principal’s expression became resigned. He had done what he could. He had given the warning. Anything that happened now was out of his hands.
"Alright."
He stepped aside, and as he did, he couldn’t help thinking that he had just given Jack the last reasonable opportunity to reconsider. He had tried to protect the man from his own foolishness but some people refused to be saved.
Unfortunately, Jack had mistaken a warning for an invitation.
And judging by the faint, almost dangerous smile still resting on Leo’s face, the principal had a feeling Jack was about to understand the difference between the two.
"Alright then," Bella said with a sweet smile, her voice surprisingly gentle. "We’re going to solve this matter privately."
Jack’s eyes immediately brightened. That was exactly what he had wanted to hear. His entire posture straightened. He glanced between Bella and Leo confidently.
He was already imagining himself sitting across from them, explaining his position. He would start with a reasonable sum, something they wouldn’t refuse. Then, if they hesitated, he would remind them of his connection to Eli, of the fact that he was the boy’s biological father. They would have no choice but to pay him. He would walk away with a considerable amount of money, enough to change his life forever.
He could already picture it. A new apartment, a new car, perhaps even a small business. No more cleaning jobs, no more humiliation, no more struggling. Just comfort and ease for the rest of his life.
Leo looked at him for a long moment. His gray eyes were unreadable, revealing nothing.
Then, without saying anything, Leo gave a small, meaningful gesture toward the door. It was a simple movement, barely noticeable, but it carried a clear command. He was silently telling Jack to follow.
Jack quickly nodded, his eagerness impossible to hide.
"Of course."
He followed them outside, almost unable to contain his excitement. His steps were quick, his heart pounding with anticipation. He felt like a man who had just won the lottery, like everything was finally going his way.
A couple of Leo’s guards were waiting nearby. One of them opened the rear door of Leo and Bella’s luxurious car. The door swung open smoothly, revealing the plush leather interior and the soft ambient lighting within.
Jack’s eyes immediately lit up. His gaze swept over the expensive vehicle, taking in every detail with greedy appreciation.
"Oh, so I’m going with you?"
He took a step toward the open door, already preparing to climb inside. His hand reached out, almost touching the frame of the car.
But before he could reach it, one of the guards calmly stepped in front of him. The man’s movement was smooth and effortless but there was no mistaking the authority behind it.
"Your car is this way."
Jack stopped. His hand hovered in the air for a moment before slowly dropping to his side.
He looked at the guard, his brow furrowing in confusion. Then he looked toward Leo and Bella, who were already getting into their own car. Bella’s dress swished softly as she slid into her seat and Leo followed without a backward glance.
For a moment, disappointment flashed across Jack’s face. His plans to sit with them, to talk to them during the journey, to make his case personally, were failing before his eyes.
"But..."
The guard simply gestured toward another luxurious vehicle parked a short distance away. The car was luxurious and black, gleaming under the afternoon sun with tinted windows.
"That one."
Jack stared at it. His disappointment slowly faded as he took in the vehicle’s appearance. It was also an extremely expensive car, just as impressive as the one Leo and Bella had entered.
.
He could tolerate that.
At least they weren’t putting him in some ordinary vehicle. At least they were still treating him with some level of respect.
