Leo contemplated a difficult decision while Bella slept, unsure if it would make her happy. The next morning, Bella found Leo had left early. He later sent a cryptic message to their group chat announcing he was introducing someone special, leaving Bella and their friends and family baffled and speculating.

Finally, after what felt like an unnecessarily long wait, the sound of a car arriving outside made everyone turn toward the entrance of the garden. Conversations gradually died down, and Bella instinctively straightened, her eyes fixed on the path leading toward the house. Even Jay stopped pacing for a moment, his curiosity immediately returning.

Leo appeared a few moments later.

But he wasn’t alone.

At first, nobody noticed the small figure walking behind him.

The child stayed almost completely hidden behind Leo’s long legs, taking tiny, hesitant steps whenever Leo moved forward and stopping whenever he stopped. One small hand was tightly gripping the back of Leo’s trousers, as though letting go would somehow make all the unfamiliar people around him come closer. His little fingers were curled so tightly into the fabric that his knuckles had turned white.

Leo glanced down at him.

The little boy looked up with wide eyes before quickly hiding again. His small face peeked out for just a second, then disappeared behind Leo’s leg like a turtle retreating into its shell.

"I... I..." he murmured in a tiny voice, barely audible.

Leo’s lips curved slightly.

"What?"

The boy peeked out again, his dark eyes darting nervously around the garden.

"Sooo many people..."

His voice was barely a whisper but the few people standing closest to Leo heard him. There was something almost comical about the way he said it, as though he was genuinely overwhelmed by the number of strangers surrounding him.

Leo chuckled softly.

"Yes. There are quite a few."

The little boy immediately tucked himself behind Leo’s leg again, his small fingers tightening their grip.

That was when Bella finally noticed him.

Her eyes widened.

As she looked at the tiny hand wrapped around Leo’s trousers, her breath caught in her throat. The little fingers were so small, so fragile, clutching onto Leo as though he was the only safe thing in the world.

"Leo..." she breathed.

Leo didn’t answer immediately.

He simply continued walking until he reached the center of the garden. His steps were very slow giving the child time to adjust to each movement.

Now everyone could see the child.

He looked about four years old, with soft black hair that had fallen messily over his forehead. His face was unusually serious for such a young child, with delicate features and enormous dark eyes.

He was wearing a simple outfit, a faded blue T-shirt and small trousers that had clearly been worn many times before and his tiny fingers were still gripping Leo as though Leo was the only familiar thing in the entire garden.

The entire family stared.

Nobody spoke.

Leo looked around at their stunned faces and calmly said,

"Meet Eli."

He gently glanced down at the child.

"He’s four years old."

Silence.

Complete, stunned silence.

Bella’s mouth fell slightly open. Her eyes moved from Leo’s face to the little boy’s face, then back to Leo again, as though she was trying to connect the dots.

Jay looked as though someone had just dropped a bomb directly in front of him. His expression was frozen somewhere between confusion and disbelief.

Jason blinked several times, his head tilting slightly as he studied the child.

Dominique’s eyebrows practically disappeared beneath his hairline. His usual playful expression had vanished, replaced by genuine surprise.

Jace remained frozen, his eyes fixed on the little boy.

Lina stared at Leo with a deep frown, her sharp eyes moving between her son and the child.

Alessandro looked equally confused, his brow furrowed as he tried to make sense of the situation.

Even Bella couldn’t understand what she was seeing.

Leo had disappeared early that morning. He had refused to answer her messages. Then he had called the entire family together. And now he had returned with a four-year-old child.

Lina was the first person to find her voice.

"What do you mean by this, Leo?"

Her tone was cautious, almost demanding an explanation. There was no hostility in her voice but there was clear concern.

Leo looked at her calmly.

Before he could answer, Jay suddenly exploded.

"Bro?!"

Everyone turned toward him.

Jay pointed at the little boy with wide, horrified eyes.

"Where did your illegitimate son come from?!"

The garden went completely silent.

Bella’s eyes widened.

"JAY!"

She immediately stood up, her face turning red with anger.

"What is wrong with you?!"

Jay looked at her, his expression defensive.

"What?! Look at the situation!"

"He’s not Leo’s son!"

Bella snapped.

The moment she said it, everyone looked at her.

Jay slowly lowered his hand.

"...You know about this?"

Bella froze.

"I..."

She looked at Leo. She really didn’t know. Her expression was a mixture of confusion and frustration.

Leo was watching her with an almost amused expression.

Jay’s eyes widened again.

"WAIT."

He looked between Bella and Leo.

"You knew?!"

"I didn’t know!" Bella protested with a wronged expression, her voice rising slightly.

"Then why did you say he’s not Leo’s son?"

"Because I know my husband!"

Jay stared at her.

"That’s not an answer!"

Bella crossed her arms, her jaw set.

"Leo wouldn’t do that."

Leo’s lips twitched.

"Thank you, Bunny."

Bella glared at him.

"Don’t thank me yet. You still have a lot of explaining to do."

A tiny laugh escaped Jason, breaking some of the tension.

Jay looked offended.

"Why is everyone so calm?! There’s a random four-year-old standing behind Bro!"

The little boy peeked out at Jay, his dark eyes wide and cautious.

Jay immediately lowered his voice.

"...Sorry."

Eli continued staring at him cautiously, his small face unreadable.

Jay crouched slightly, bringing himself to the child’s level.

"Hi."

Eli said nothing. He simply stared, his tiny fingers still gripping Leo’s trousers.

Jay smiled awkwardly.

"I’m Jay."

The boy looked at Leo instead, as though seeking permission.

Leo glanced down.

"You can say hello."

Eli hesitated for a moment, his small mouth opening and closing as though he was trying to find the courage to speak. Then, finally, he gave the smallest possible wave.

"Hello..."
