Leo pulled out his phone and dialed Jace’s number.
Jace answered on the second ring. "Leo? What’s wrong?"
Leo’s voice was sharp and urgent. "Bella’s missing. Clara took her. She erased the tracking signal. I need you to find her. Now."
There was a brief pause on the other end. Then Jace’s voice came through, calm but focused. "Send me everything you have. Her last known location. Any data from Clara’s phone. I’ll find her."
Leo heard Jay’s voice in the background, panicked and frantic.
"What?! Bella’s missing?! How?! Where?!"
Jace’s voice was firm, cutting through Jay’s panic. "It’s not time to shock! I need to focus. Get me the data."
Jay fell silent, his breath ragged.
Jace quickly pulled Jay with him, heading toward his laptop. His fingers flew across the keyboard, his eyes sharp, his concentration absolute.
"I’ll find her," Jace said, his voice deep. "I promise."
Leo’s grip on the phone tightened.
"Find her quickly," he said, his voice low and deadly. "I don’t know what Clara is planning, but if she’s working with Pablo—if she’s been the spy this whole time—then Bella is in even more danger than we thought."
Jace’s fingers paused for just a fraction of a second.
Then he resumed his work, his expression grim.
"I’ll find her, Leo. Just hold on."
The call ended.
Leo stared at the dark screen, his heart pounding.
The car sped through the city streets, the engine roaring, his men tense and silent beside him.

Meanwhile, Jay was already dragging Jace toward the car, his face pale with panic. His hands were shaking, his voice breaking as he spoke.
"Aunt Clara can’t be the spy," Jay said, his voice tight with disbelief. "She changed my diapers. She played with me when Mom and Dad weren’t around. She’s been with us for—" He stopped, swallowing hard. "She’s family. How can she be the spy?"
Jace didn’t answer immediately. With one hand he was holding his laptop, and with the other, his fingers were already flying across the keyboard, his eyes fixed on the screen, his focus absolute. He was pulling up surveillance footage, tracking Clara’s phone, cross-referencing data, bypassing firewalls with practiced ease.
Jay slammed the car door shut, his hands gripping the steering wheel. His knuckles were white.
"I can’t believe it," he muttered, his voice shaking. "I can’t believe she would do this. After everything. After all these years."
Jace finally looked up from his laptop. His eyes were calm, but there was a deep sadness in them.
"I know," he said quietly. "I feel the same way." However, he frowned as he remembered what he had noticed while staying in the house. The small, unsettling details that had never quite added up.
Jay’s hands trembled on the steering wheel.
"But why?" His voice cracked. "Why would she do this? What did Bella ever do to her? Bella’s never been anything but kind to everyone. She’s never hurt anyone."
Jace shook his head slowly. "I don’t know. But we’re going to find out."
He turned back to his laptop, his fingers resuming their rapid dance across the keyboard.
"Just drive," Jace said, his voice low and firm. "I’ll track her location. You focus on getting us there."
Jay’s jaw tightened. He pressed the gas, and the car shot forward, the engine roaring as they sped through the city streets.
Jace’s eyes stayed fixed on the screen, his mind racing through possibilities, connections, patterns.
While Jay’s mind replayed memories of Clara—of her warm smile, her gentle hands, the way she had always been there. The way she had held him when he cried as a child. The way she had sneaked him extra cookies when his parents weren’t looking. The way she had become a constant, comforting presence in his life.
How could she have been the spy all this time?
How could she have betrayed them like this?
His grip on the steering wheel tightened.
"I think she’s been suspicious long enough," Jace said, his voice low and focused as his fingers flew across the keyboard. "You and Leo both trust her blindly and that’s the problem. But I’ve been watching. I noticed things."
Jay’s hands tightened on the steering wheel. "What things?"
Jace didn’t look up from the screen. "I never told you because you and Leo trusted her so much. I didn’t want to cause unnecessary drama without proof. But I saw her in the kitchen once, holding a small bottle of medicine. She was careful, secretive. And I noticed something else—she only makes special juice for Bella. Only Bella. Our drinks are made by other kitchen staff. Every single time."
Jay’s eyes widened. "You think she was putting something in Bella’s juice?"
Jace’s jaw tightened. "I don’t know for sure. But it fits. Bella’s been sick, confused, forgetting things. If Clara was poisoning her slowly, it would explain everything. The nightmares, the memory loss, the way she’s been retreating into herself."
Jay’s knuckles went white on the steering wheel. "That—that evil woman—"
"Focus," Jace said firmly. "We’ll deal with her later. Right now, I need to find Bella."
His fingers moved faster, bypassing firewalls, tracing encrypted signals, following the digital trail that Clara had tried so hard to erase. The hacker who had wiped the tracking data wasn’t skilled enough to erase everything completely. Jace was better. No, actually much better.
A few seconds later, a location pin appeared on his screen.
"I got it," Jace said, his voice sharp. "Sending the location to Leo now."
He forwarded the coordinates to Leo’s phone, his heart pounding.
Jay pressed the gas harder. "Where is she?"
"An old building on the edge of the city. Abandoned. Looks like it hasn’t been used in years."
Jay’s grip on the steering wheel tightened. "Why would Clara take her there?"
"I don’t know. But we’re about to find out."
Jace leaned back for a moment, his eyes still fixed on the screen. Despite the urgency, a small, brief thought crossed his mind.
When it came to hacking, Bella had some of the wildest, most brilliant skills he had ever seen. He had seen her do things with code that left him speechless. He had always wondered how someone so sweet, so kind, so genuinely gentle could be so dangerous, so ruthless, so absolutely insane in the digital world.
It was a contradiction he still hadn’t fully understood.
But right now, that didn’t matter. Right now, all that mattered was finding her.
