Zeke pulled away from their intense lovemaking to address urgent matters, bathing Alicia and shielding her from the Underworld's corrupting effects with his demonic magic. He questioned her arrival, learning she was accidentally dragged in when Sebastian and Zeres forced open hell's gates, and that she had stopped Sebastian from entering. Relieved, they shared an emotional reunion where Alicia revealed their six-year-old son Azriel, a mini-Zeke who has kept her sane, while Zeke confessed his fears of becoming unrecognizable amid endless battles. He then recounted his harrowing experiences in the Underworld to her.

Before long, Zeke shifted the subject.

"It's time for you to head back home, my wife..." Zeke murmured to her while pressing another kiss to her hand. Although his heart longed to keep Alicia by his side longer, he understood that prolonging her stay here was unwise. Besides, their son required her care back at home. "I can't let you stay here any longer. I need to get you out of this world before something starts to happen to you." "W-what will happen to me if I stay for a bit more?" Alicia questioned. Her heart plummeted. She hadn't expected any consequences from entering the Underworld. And even if some existed, they shouldn't manifest so rapidly after her arrival. Could she possibly claim just a little extra time with him? Only a short while longer, please?

However, Zeke shook his head and pulled her tightly against himself anew.

"I'm sorry, babe... but it's already dangerous that you've been thrown to this world. I'm afraid that something had already been taken from you without your knowledge when you fell in here as the price of you being here. I believe it was... your magic, Alicia." His tone brimmed with tenderness, overflowing with affection, concern, and anxiety as he covered her face and hair with heartfelt kisses. "But don't worry, it will only be temporary as long as you will not linger in here any longer. I'm certain that with you, you'd definitely one day get your powers back, my queen... so now, I need you to go back before anything worse happens that might not be reversible."

All Alicia managed was a kiss to his lips as silent tears streamed from her eyes. The revelation that her powers might have vanished due to this unexpected trip to the Underworld stunned her. Yet she harbored no regrets. Not in the slightest! She would never lament tumbling into this realm and holding him like this. Regret was impossible. Powers... she could reclaim those eventually, but these precious, profound moments shared with him here would remain etched in her heart eternally.

"Ezekiel..." she breathed his name with deep yearning, and he echoed hers in a soft whisper. Her heart shattered at the thought of not sharing even a fragment more time together, yet she had to embrace the reality and feel gratitude for this miraculous opportunity neither had ever imagined possible.

In short order, they departed from Zeke's chamber.

Prior to exiting the shadowy fortress, Alicia encountered the individual called Gavriel.

Even in their fleeting encounter, his striking similarity to Ezekiel left Alicia reeling. Time to inquire about him was nonexistent, as a sudden weakness overtook her, plunging Ezekiel into alarm.

In a flash, he transported her to the precise spot where she had first materialized upon entering this realm.

His haste was palpable; she sensed his frantic need to dispatch her back without delay.

Observing him conjure a swirling vortex of darkness from the void, Alicia restrained her tears.

At last, the moment of farewell arrived once more. The pain cut deep. Repeating the parting didn't dull the agony—in fact, it intensified now. Still, she must steel herself, for her sake and his. For this extraordinary man she cherished beyond her very existence.

As he turned to clasp her hand in his much larger ones, Alicia bit her lower lip hard to steady it. Tears welled up nonetheless, clouding her sight. With great effort, she kept them from spilling. Drawing deep breaths, she fought to steady her turbulent feelings.

"Shh... my beautiful goddess... don't cry..." he murmured, brushing kisses across her features. "This is not goodbye... we're just getting separated for a while again."

Alicia nodded. "Yes, my love. And I'll wait patiently for you as I vowed before. Azy and I will wait for you to come back to us. We will wait for you, Ezekiel..."

Zeke drew her fiercely into his embrace and claimed her lips in a fervent kiss, as if etching it indelibly until their reunion. As the vortex's pull dragged Alicia away, they rose skyward locked in their kiss, limbs entwined securely.

Their lips separated at last, and Alicia's tears cascaded free. "I love you, Ezekiel. Don't ever forget that." She declared, causing Zeke's mouth to quiver faintly. "No, don't say it... tell me those words once you return to me, to us."

He nodded and captured her lips once more. A single tear traced from Zeke's eye, landing at the corner of Alicia's mouth; she tasted its sharp bitterness on her tongue.

The instant Zeke released her shoulders, the dark vortex engulfed her completely.

Zeke hovered motionless in the sky while the vortex faded away. She had vanished... his love... his heart was gone from this place. Yet, a soft and heartfelt smile pulled at his lips as he grasped his chest tightly.

"Wait for me, my beloved. Wait for me." He murmured, remaining perfectly still.

After what felt like an eternity, Zeke finally descended and made his way back to the castle. His face had returned to the usual stoic look he always wore in Gavriel's presence. Yet, a enigmatic and perilous glint shimmered in his eyes.

"I have something to tell you, Gavriel." Zeke cut straight to the chase, and the nearly see-through Gavriel met his gaze with equal intensity.

"What is it?"

"I'm heading to your world." Zeke proclaimed. "It's time for you to reclaim your true physical body. It's time we bring this foolish war to an end. And to make that happen, you must restore your body and your true powers."

Gavriel's eyes ignited with fresh resolve. His powerless state had drained his determination of late, and Zeke comprehended this all too well. If their roles were reversed, Zeke wasn't certain he could endure such a weight. Therefore, he knew exactly what this announcement meant for Gavriel.

"It's time you prove to everyone why you're the foreordained king of darkness." Zeke declared, and Gavriel nodded firmly, his eyes burning with the resolve of a man willing to do whatever it took to achieve his goal.
