Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 2205: Part 2: The Magic City Trembles at the News

Magic City
The news about Vincent Carey becoming a Magic Lord and joining the Outer Hall of the Mage Union spread across Magic City.
The wizards in the Wizard Tower could not keep the news under wraps. It was somehow leaked to the supreme wizards and other wizard seeds.
They, in return, reported it to the families behind them. Many of them had nothing to do with the Silver Tower.
However, the families behind the Black Tower, the Green Wind Elemental Tower, and the Red Flame Elemental Tower took the matter seriously.
Especially the Doyle Wizard Family, one of the families backing the Green Wind Elemental Tower. They were terrified right now.
Their previous actions against the Silver Tower’s Wizard Vincent Carey had already backfired. The Green Wind Elemental Tower had even been keeping its distance from them.
So, they found themselves in a helpless situation. They could only hope that Magic Lord Vincent Carey would not dwell on the past.
The news also reached the ears of the Nicholson, Cox, and Park families. Earlier, they had heard that Forbidden Wizard Remi had returned.
They had barely digested that news when this update struck like a thunderclap. All three families were terrified to the core.
They had forced their children to distance themselves from Wizard Vincent Carey, assuming the other Wizard Towers would eliminate him.
They had not wanted their children to get dragged down as well, successfully severing their ties with Vincent Carey because of it.
Now, Vincent Carey had become a Magic Lord, whereas their children were still at the level of Level-9 Wizards. Everyone had hit their bottleneck.
They were still striving for a breakthrough to become Supreme Wizards, yet their former friend had already become a Magic Lord.
Not only that, Wizard Vincent had joined the Outer Hall of the Mage Union, officially making him a Mage Union member.
The revelation shocked these families. They were at a loss for words and full of regret, but there was no remedy now.
They did not know what to say to their children. Jason Nicholson, Wilson Cox, and Susan Park were currently outside their family territories, searching for breakthrough opportunities.
The family heads instructed their members not to share the news with them. If they found out, it could derail their breakthroughs.
As time passed, almost all major and mid-sized wizard organizations learned the news. Most of them treated it as positive.
They knew the current situation in Magic City and the threats facing the Mage Union.
If the Mage Union grew stronger, it boded well for Magic City as a whole. Many had already heard of the Silver Tower’s Wizard Vincent Carey.
His name was especially prominent among the spectators of the Magic Battles. Many of them had amassed great fortunes betting on Vincent Carey.
Vincent Carey had only participated in a few battles in the Magic Arena, but those few appearances were enough to make him famous.
Now that the news reached the arena crowd, they rejoiced as well.
Meanwhile, the news reached the ears of old man Martin, the owner of the bookshop.
He was equally taken aback. At first, he assumed someone was spreading rumors to track down Vincent Carey’s whereabouts.
However, it did not take long for him to verify the source: the news originated directly from the Mage Union.
It shook the old man to his core. He had known the young man since he first joined the Silver Tower. Vincent’s progress was faster than a shooting star.
In fact, he suspected Vincent Carey had received an ancient legacy inheritance. Nothing else could explain such a meteoric rise.
Without the backing of a legacy or boundless resources, advancing this far could take a wizard several decades or even centuries. Even with top-tier talent, it should have taken at least a few years.
Convinced that Vincent Carey had stumbled upon an inheritance opportunity, he decided to ask him directly the next time the young man visited.
At the same time, the old man could not help but pity Vincent Carey’s enemies. Many of them had offended the young man and attempted to have him killed inside the Mage Union’s territory.
Yet, the young man had slipped through every trap.
Now that he had become a Magic Lord, those enemies would be having sleepless nights.
A wide smile spread across Martin’s face before he closed his eyes, eagerly awaiting the young man’s next visit.
Elsewhere, the news reached other acquaintances, including the friends of Manager Lara. They were stunned.
None of them expected the young man to become a Magic Lord so quickly. They were glad to have gotten acquainted with him early on.
If they ever needed assistance in the future, they could approach Vincent Carey for help. They even contacted Manager Lara to confirm the validity of the rumors.
Others deeply regretted failing to build ties with Vincent Carey back then. Had they done so, they would have had a powerful figure to turn to in times of need.
....
Barrett Family
Butler Gideon was the first to hear the news. He, too, assumed rumors were running wild, knowing full well that Supreme Wizard Vincent had no shortage of enemies.
He suspected it was their doing, but as wave after wave of reports poured in, he finally made an effort to verify the information.
The family head and elders could summon him at any moment, and he needed to be prepared. Once the source was confirmed, he was terrified to his core.
He stood frozen in silence for at least fifteen minutes, thoughts racing through his mind.
He worried about Master Holden Barrett, who was still trying to break past his limits but remained stuck at the Supreme level for a long time.
Earlier, Wizard Celeste had broken through to become a Magic Lord. Now, Vincent Carey had achieved the same feat. Both belonged to the White Silver Faction.
The Barrett Family, however, remained aligned with the neutral faction. If Master Holden managed to become a Magic Lord, he would be the first from their side to do so in recent years.
Butler Gideon then turned his thoughts to the Dark Silver Faction.
The Dark Silver Faction had always operated in absolute secrecy; nobody truly knew what hidden talents they harbored.
He desperately hoped Master Holden Barrett would achieve the next breakthrough.
With that in mind, he decided to report to the family head immediately, hoping the family head might allocate more resources to aid Holden’s training.
