Silver Tower
Lord Charlotte and the old healer came to the room. Forbidden Wizard Erwin sensed their arrival through his badge, then gave them permission to enter.
Creak!
The door was unlocked. Charlotte and the old man exchanged looks. The next second, they opened the door and entered.
They proceeded to the hall, where they saw someone sitting cross-legged on the ground. He looked disheveled and covered in bloodstains.
The bloodstains were dry, forming a sticky crust on his skin, which showed that he had been injured for some time.
The expressions of both visitors changed as they arrived in front of Forbidden Wizard Erwin. The old man could see that Erwin was using healing resources to treat his internal injuries.
These healing resources were all derived from magical herbs, the scent of which reached their nostrils.
The old man decided to wait a moment. If he interrupted, it could cause a magical backlash in Erwin’s body.
Charlotte understood the situation and began to wait as well.
Meanwhile, Erwin digested the healing energy within his body. When the energy was fully absorbed, he opened his eyes and saw Elder Charlotte and the old man.
He recognized the old man as one of the famous healers in the Magic City. Erwin stood up and greeted them.
"It’s unbelievable that you managed to escape from that place," Charlotte said.
"Don’t make judgments too quickly. If you knew the whole story, you would be even more shocked," Erwin replied with a smile.
He then turned toward the old man and said, "I need your help."
The old man nodded. They moved toward the bed, where Erwin lay down. The old healer then began to channel his magical power.
Swoosh!
A green leaf materialized above Forbidden Wizard Erwin’s body.
Green mana radiated from the large leaf and flowed into his body.
The soothing mana softened Erwin’s tense expression. Sensing that the magic was working, he focused entirely on his recovery.
The green leaf continued to channel healing mana into his body, accelerating the recovery of his internal organs.
As time passed, Forbidden Wizard Erwin’s complexion improved. The bruises on his body began to fade, and the bloodstains gradually disappeared from his skin.
Charlotte watched the entire transformation.
Two hours later, the green leaf had shrunk significantly, having expended most of its power in the healing process.
Fortunately, Forbidden Wizard Erwin’s injuries were completely healed. He felt much better, needing only time to replenish his mana.
Leaving that for later, he stood up and thanked the old man.
"Don’t mention it. You are one of the Mage Union’s strongest wizards. It’s good to see you recovered," the old man said.
Afterward, Charlotte accompanied the old man to see him off. In the lobby, they saw that Vincent Carey was still waiting.
Charlotte nodded to Vincent before heading toward the exit. She walked outside and waited for the old man to depart.
Right then, she sensed the presence of wizards from other magic towers. They were likely there to gather information, but she had no time to entertain them.
In truth, she did not yet know the full story herself. Turning around, she re-entered the Silver Tower.
She returned to the lobby and sat down opposite Vincent Carey.
"Tell me, what happened from the beginning?" Charlotte asked.
By this time, Manager Lara had arrived. Eager to hear the full story as well, she took a seat nearby.
I looked at both of them and began recounting the same story I had told Forbidden Wizard Erwin.
As time went by, their expressions shifted. They looked at Vincent Carey in disbelief, wondering how he had managed to stumble upon such an inheritance opportunity.
Not only had he broken through to become a Magic Lord, but he had also rescued Forbidden Wizard Erwin using a single-use spatial treasure.
Spatial magic treasures were not entirely unheard of; while rare, figures of their standing had encountered similar artifacts in the Magic City before.
Even the Mage Union possessed a collection of rare treasures, including spatial artifacts.
Because of this, Forbidden Wizard Charlotte was able to digest the news. Stumbling upon an inheritance ground was not entirely unprecedented either.
The Magic World was vast and had spanned countless eras, making it natural for powerful ancient wizards to leave behind legacies.
What was truly rare, however, was coming across such an opportunity so early in one’s life. Charlotte understood the immense advantages of securing an inheritance early on.
She knew many wizards spent their entire lifetimes searching for a single inheritance, with most dying without ever finding one.
Yet Vincent Carey had managed to find one at the perfect time. She looked at him with newfound respect.
She had witnessed his rapid rise with her own eyes. Vincent had been merely a wizard seed when recruited into the Silver Tower.
Shortly after, he had become a Level-9 Wizard, followed by a swift breakthrough to Supreme Wizard. Now, within just a year, he had ascended to Magic Lord.
Her thoughts drifted to another prodigy.
"Celeste was the first to become a Magic Lord. She is currently away on a mission, but she will return soon," she remarked.
Hearing that, my eyes lit up. A thought crossed my mind, and I asked, "What about the others?"
I knew there were two other factions. Celeste belonged to the White Silver Faction-the same faction as mine.
Charlotte saw right through my thoughts.
"The other two factions have Magic Lords as well. Holden Barrett might be the next to break through. The Dark Silver Faction keeps their secrets well."
"Even if their prodigies haven’t found an inheritance ground, the elders themselves will provide opportunities," Charlotte said with a smile.
"Still, our White Silver Faction has clearly taken the lead this time," she added.
A note of pride colored her voice. Meanwhile, I made a mental note of the information: Holden Barrett might indeed be the next to reach Magic Lord.
Beside us, Manager Lara was deeply shaken.
Unlike Forbidden Wizard Charlotte, she was taking much longer to steady her racing heart.
