Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 2169: Making the Next Move

Forbidden Island
Then, I brought the Zero Puppet to the mansion. I instructed him to go to the control room to monitor the situation outside.
Swoosh!
The Zero Puppet, in the form of red smoke, left the place.
Next, I summoned the members; it was time to brief them. Otto, Patrick, Hank, and the old man Rock appeared, followed by Lady Caitlin, who entered the hall.
Everyone then sat in their respective chairs. I saw their grim expressions. Even the always calm and composed Lady Caitlin looked rather serious right now.
I figured it out, both Magic Lords had not been the same ever since they heard the words "Elder-Level Powerhouse."
Decades of experience had conditioned them to be cautious. I was the only one dealing with the situation like any other mission.
"Ahem," I cleared my throat to get everyone’s attention.
Everyone’s gaze fell on me the next second.
"I’m inside the forbidden island right now, and I have captured one of their border posts," I said to them.
Gasp!
A collective gasp rang out.
"What about the wizards?" Lady Caitlin was quick to ask. The other members gathered their thoughts right away.
They knew Master had only shared half the story.
Hearing that, I smiled and said, "I captured one Forbidden Wizard and five Magic Lords from the checkpoint."
The news struck the Supreme Wizard members like a thunderclap. Even the two experienced Magic Lords were flustered.
It took them a few minutes to calm down and digest the information. Otto, Patrick, and Hank did not know what to say.
They had always wanted to help their Master, but the challenges their Master was currently facing were not their cup of tea.
A Magic Lord could easily kill them, let alone a Forbidden Wizard. The mana pressure from the wizard body alone was enough to kill them.
Old man Rock looked at young master Vincent. He had been with this young man for some time, and he could tell that he was growing at an alarming rate.
The young man could become a Magic Lord soon, whereas they had remained at the same strength level. It was time for them to work as a team as well.
If they didn’t do something, they would be of no help to Master other than working as staff in the appraisal shop.
Caitlin said, "I don’t know how you are still alive. You are playing with fire. I can help you deal with the Magic Lords, and maybe I can try dealing with the injured Forbidden Wizard."
She made up her mind to help her young Master. It was a risk, but she was willing to take it.
"Master, if there are Supreme Wizards, we will help you," Otto said.
Patrick and Hank quickly chimed in, reiterating the sentiment.
"I know you guys will help me, but now is not the time to kill them," I told them.
Next, I told them to disperse, except for Otto. When everyone had left, Otto remained in his spot.
"Master, how are you planning to rescue Lord Erwin?" Otto asked.
Hearing that, I turned toward Otto and looked into his eyes.
"I just heard about their recruitment process. They take wizards from the prison island for labor. What if all the wizards patrolling the posts were to disappear?" I said.
Gasp!
Otto drew in a cold breath of air. He knew Master Vincent had a powerful space-type treasure, but he hadn’t realized just how powerful it was.
At the same time, I used the system to check whether our surroundings were safe. After getting a positive confirmation from the system, I materialized outside with Otto.
Swoosh!
Our feet touched the ground. Otto looked around the room and noticed it was an old brick-style building. It reminded him of history.
"This place is very old," he commented.
"Yes. Use your magic to listen for any useful conversations." After instructing him, I sat down in a chair.
"Understood," Otto replied before setting to work.
He activated his magic. Immediately, his mana expanded outward, covering a large distance. He encountered only wild vegetation; he didn’t find any outposts.
After spanning just over a mile, he stopped. He could not expand his range any further.
"Master, I apologize. I couldn’t find any wizard checkpoints nearby," Otto reported.
"It’s fine. We’ll wait for them here. If you hear anything, alert me. I’m going to use the next room for practice," I told Otto.
Having received his orders, Otto closed the door and stood behind the desk.
Meanwhile, I entered the adjoining room and closed the door behind me. The room was bare. My gaze immediately fell upon the floor tiles, which seemed peculiar.
I promptly used the system to scan them and confirmed that the room was indeed built for wizards to practice in private.
Next, I moved to the center of the room and sat cross-legged. I took out a few super-grade mana stones and began circulating the Gravity Ark Mental Method.
Buzz!
Then, I noticed something strange happen, the mana from the super-grade mana stones began flowing toward the ceiling, floor, and walls.
As the dense mana sank into the walls, glowing lines flashed for a second.
Seeing that, my eyes lit up. I recognized those glowing lines, they were inscriptions.
However, they were not the type of inscriptions used for barrier restrictions.
Buzz!
Not long after, rich, concentrated mana began drawing into the room. It didn’t take long for the space to become saturated with dense energy.
It was reminiscent of a mana chamber, though modern mana chambers were built using cutting-edge magical technology; the effect here was achieved purely through ancient methods.
I doubted any modern organization could mass-produce this. Some exceptionally powerful wizard must have carved those intricate inscriptions into the walls.
Once again, I consulted the system. The system’s appraisal revealed that an Elder-Level Wizard had channeled magic here. The revelation stunned me.
Given that the inscriptions were still active, someone had to be actively maintaining them, most likely a wizard from the Covenant.
I was at a loss for words. Calming my mind, I closed my eyes once more to practice the Gravity Ark Mental Method.
